This season confuse me to no end and driving me nuts!!.. 
OK. so this is my final thought on how the last episodes will be pans out :

A, If Des sends Brooks away early (perhaps after her "successful" FD date with Chris?..aheeeemm!!  ), i guess that would be okay for Chris to slide into F1. and it will prove that actually he is the one that Des wanted all along, as in her poem. so..the "was in love with Brooks" thing is only a cover up of what was really happening from the start.

B. But if Brooks leaves on his own, Chris is going to look like her default F1 and even if Des choose him in the end, people will bash him and counting down the minutes before they break up. Des doesnt deserve Chris in this case!!..

therefore, i am hoping, rather than option B, id rather see Brooks come back and prove the spoilers are correct. and let the nice-sincere-well deserved women all of America have Chris!!

Yup ... this is what I think too! If NYMERIA is correct and Brooks leaves on his own accord/comes back/interrupts Chris/Des FRC, yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's beyond horrible especially if Des picks Brooks in the end after sharing some very special time with Chris (and he may know at this point that Brooks is gone).

I have said this in other threads but will say it again as it really freaked me out! Hearing Des say plain as day and with much conviction that she wants Brooks to propose to her at the end just left me speechless and a bit sick to my stomach for Chris (and Drew!). It was just like when Ben skinny dipped with Courtney. How can it be anyone else but Brooks in the end? And, if Chris was picked, how would she explain herself to him?

I also wonder if Des knew that her words about Brooks would be put on the air for her F3 guys and their families to hear? Why did TPTB waste Chris/Drew's time if Des was so certain she was in love with Brooks and wanted him to propose at the end (esp when the end is so friggin close at this point)?!  And, I am NOT naïve. I know that most contestants have a fairly good idea at this point who will be their F1. But to hear the lead say it out loud is a whole other thing. And, I like Brooks. I really do. I just hate to see Chris (and Drew!) get hurt and think that he is  going to be the one and then have that ripped away from him.

I really hope that this is NOT as messy as the previews made it look.

I said essentially the same thing earlier. If she was so 100% sure that it was Brooks and Brooks alone - she should have not continued with the other men. She played them far more than other leads who have to take 2 to the finish line with them. I too realise that at least 3 guys get hurt every season  but Des has been sure for quite a while now. When he left she should have called it a day instead of continuing to lead the guys on but kissing them and rolling around in the sand with them. It makes her look foolish. And more so if the spoiler pans out and she take back a guy who is so undecided about you.

I figured this PM is worth discussing here... not on the main editing thread where I am maintaining my "neutrality" about all three top guys. Yet editing signs pointing to Chris as F1... and making us question "the spoilers"... belong here.

between the Trista/Ryan guitar rift they gave to Zak in Barcelona? and the one of Chris's HTD...i mean, referring to the meaning...?...is it meaningful?..anything to be interpret further or what?
and what do u take about Chris is the F1 in term of probability after this HTD?...90%..80%?...i am so bummed!! of all the 4, they HAD to award the awkward theme to Chris's family!!...its not fair!!

You can stop calling me "Prof" because I don't have a crystal ball. I was confused to no end by Nicki's edit in Ben's season... except that several times she predicted she would leave (making me think she wasn't as "in love" with Ben as he might have been with her... and a reason he went ahead with Courtney in episode #5 with the skinnydip after Nicki's date).

Now... I am going to get wordy here, but I want to be sure I am covering FULL quotes here and not leaving any stones unturned... ha ha! So... only you die-hard geeks who like to pick your own brains can continue reading.

Back in Barcelona, Zak got the same guitar rift.

Every F1 except Vienna and Courtney... Tenley and Nicki got it instead those seasons... receive this guitar rift in addition to ONE other contestant in SOME seasons... for example Jef got it in Emily's season, but so did Tony and Sean. Both Molly and Melissa got it in Jason's. Roberto, JP, Emily in Brad's season, Catherine, Jillian's Ed, Deanna's Jesse and Matt's Shayne all got it. They use this as the F1 theme, both when F1 is shown as well as "relating to F1" when played with a rival contestant. Now... maybe Brooks will get it next episode? Maybe. Maybe what she says when it plays over Brooks later will ape anything she says with Zak and Chris.)

Full quote from Des during The Guitar Rift (speaking to Zak in Barcelona): "It is not just about time. It is also growing the relationships and I saw so many qualities in you that I’m really looking for: your adventurous spirit and how much fun you have every single day no matter what and your positive outlook on life is so similar to mine and I love that because you feel like have a joy in you, like you said about your mom, but you have it too. It does stand out and it’s nice to see."

Zack in voice-over (what he tells the viewers): “I’m absolutely in love with this woman. There’s no doubt about it. I can finally say that and I don’t feel any sort of hesitation anymore.”

Zak to Desiree (what she hears from him): “This is about falling in love and about marriage and, at this point of my life, you mean everything to me.”  

Zak in voice-over continuing (what he tells the viewers): “It feels insanely good to be in love. Not just to be in love, but to be in love with a woman that is so incredible.”

Des in voice-over (as the guitar rift continues playing): “A life with Zack would be so much fun. He’s never going stop being adventurous. He is never going to stop being curious… and I love that about him because that’s what I want in a husband. I trust him 100%. He’s never the type of guy who would ever think or say anything bad or even have the wrong intentions… and that’s completely different than what’s going on with James and, y’know, really questioning that relationship.”

In short, Zak had qualities she was looking for in a husband, but Chris already had the edge back in Munich when she said "He's everything that I could want in a husband."

Backtracking... to an earlier use of the H-word before.

Episode #1: "I connected with Ben. He kinda just has this personality that makes you want to talk to him and learn more. This makes me hopeful of things to come out of this. It feels good. / He just seems like a sweet guy. We have a lot in common. He’s husband material."

When the guys were discussing Ben in episode #5, Kasey says over a face-shot of Chris: "We are all hoping that Michael shows Ben’s true colors"... basically because she still had that H-word in her head with Ben at the time and he was another "obstacle" in Chris' way.

But I got sidetracked here a little. OK... hometowns... she says over The Guitar Rift: "I’m a little sad to say goodbye to Chris. I don’t want to leave yet. It is so great to see his family and the day went so well. He has everything there that I’m looking for. There’s definite husband potential in Chris and it is so amazing."

At the start of the date, she says "Knowing how much Chris’ family’s opinion means to him, it is important for Chris’ family to love me… so he can feel comfortable with moving forward in our relationship."

The Guitar Rift starts immediately the moment Becky gives her approval to the relationship. Unfortunately, I didn't copy every word spoken over the music but she was telling Des at the dinner table that it was "always her" with her son and Des was instantly crying at the table... so obviously the hometown is what locked it in and meant that Zak, the last remaining "obstacle", had to leave.

At the rose ceremony, all three guys... well, specifically Chris... commented that she was more emotional than any past rose ceremony... ooof!... I would have to go back to hear what was specifically said. I think Zak and Chris may have been her top two at this stage based on their positioning at the rose ceremony line-up. She says in voice-over while looking at Zak's photo "here for one man". In my post on he other editing thread (in order to be fair to the Brooks, Zak and Drew fans), I stated that Zak was the only one getting a favorable voice-over. Yet that is NOT favorable. She is basically saying she can't keep TWO men, so Zak must go. In addition... over Brooks... she says "nothing is holding me back from finding my husband" which essentially means that something regarding Brooks may temporarily hold her back... but not permanently hold her back.

The promos were interesting. Brooks is red-eyed from crying when he compliments Des. You know he is leaving next episode just like Frank in Ali's.

Also back in episode #2, she said to Brooks under the Hollywood sign that when heartbreak happens, “then it means I wasn’t meant to be with that person”.

In a key “coming up” preview last night, we see Brooks walking with Chris Harrison during the voice-over of Nate’s line: “What’s not meant to be is not meant to be.”

Again... swinging back to the Pro-Spoiler Camp campaigning for Brooks, Des DID say in Madeira "I CAN see Brooks as my husband and that's what this [i.e. the show] is about."

Re-quoting my other post:

In her sit-down with Nate, she mentions that Zak shares a similar outlook as she does, being adventurous. Drew is sweet and lights up a room. Chris would make a good husband and a good father. With Brooks, “we’re just in the moment and it is really nice”. This establishes each guy’s role in her eyes. Is she seeking a husband or just wants to be “in the moment”? Other Bachelors and Bachelorettes wanted to just “be in the moment”. Perhaps Des just wants that too?

Alas... "in the moment" is repeated over and over in the Brooks dates.

Now... you folks are REALLY confused.

Just in addition to what ND has posted above...some people have said her honesty is what they like about Des the most..not hesitating to say she was in love with Brooks. And I get that....However, if you think about it, did the other guys, not F1, not deserve her honesty as well? If she is so sure about her feelings for Brooks, she should have just let Chris and Drew go because at this point, what's going on is virtually a farce. Chris and Drew have no idea she's declared her love for Brooks on camera twice while filming was still going on, but she does. To me, that is the worst kind of deception; pretending to have  feelings for these 2 sweet guys when all along you and the whole world knew, it wasn't true. If it's anybody other that Brooks, then I would feel really sorry for that person. It's like a slap in the face. And please don't tell me she didn't know her confessions would be put on air...of course, she did. Sorry for the rant...back to lurking now.

Chris seems like a nice guy, and feel badly for saying this.........but I cannot get the NOSE ADJUSTMENT visual out of my head. I cannot.
Now when I look at him, I look at his nose, if it's running, red, or whatever. I see the NOSE, then Chris behind it.

I wish MF would have kept that out. I guess it was a good plug for his dad's Chiro Business, but it left me totally GROSSED OUT.

Well, to be fair, Brooks hasn't received her honesty, as well. She's never told HIM she loves him. She's never told HIM that she wants him to propose. All she's ever said to him is she was going into a run. And then at his HTD she said she was only jogging, to elicit his "then I'll run to you" comment. He thinks they're still in the running phase. (Which, to me, is kind of telling—she can tug that run out of him if she backs off a bit). He has not idea that she's told CH and the world that she's at the finish line and expecting a proposal.

So, whatever happens with Brooks in the future, it's partly her fault.

2 things that stand out to me edit-wise from this epis:
- Des talked with both Chris's dad AND mom- which she didnt do with either Zak or Drew
- of all the 4 men, in the end of each date, only Chris got HER PI, where she was saying she quite sad to leave him. while the other 3 guys doing their own PI about being left by Des.
