It resembles his less expensive line for Kay Jewelers. I does NOT resemble his normal creations for this show. TPTB may be cutting back $$$ because that stone is MUCH smaller than the usual.

You can pop any stone into any setting, just make the setting larger. Very simple.

The point made I believe was that knowing (according to spoilers) that Des picks brooks, you watch the season differently. Most of us do anyway. And the qualities/personality we see of Des when thinking of her with Brooks are different (not meaning better, just different) than with Chris or with Drew.

So when saying "rethink Des", I think it means that who she chooses would tell us a lot about what she wants in life. If it's not brooks, it would be different to what she has said or to what we have been assuming she wants (as we were under the impression what she wanted was Brooks).

I see NO criticism or negativity towards Drew or Chris in the post. Just the fact that Des chosing them would change how we see her (some will think her better and some not, all personal  judgement!)

This just goes to prove that we all see things differently. I don't see Brooks or Chris or Drew as being all that different. Yes they look different, have different family backgrounds, but the general, overall impression I get of each of them is that they are OK kind of guys who value family and are bland and on the boring side....some just use more hair product than others. I have not seen enough of any of them to learn just how they differ in personal views on politics, religion, how they handle stress and adversity, how hard working they are or even their sense of humour. Hopefully Des had the opportunity to see these things, but producers never get too indepth portraying anyone on this show...and that includes the lead...for fear of offending groups of viewers, so they tend to portray people as "characters" painted in broad brush strokes. Therefore we have the "cheater", the "opportunist", the "father", the "funny" guy, the "protector", the "sexy" guy, etc. I'm certain that all of these people have more depth to them if we got to know them in real life but, we only get to see these snippets from which we form our opinions...sometimes very harsh opinions. As for Des and who she decides to choose...it really makes no difference to how I see her because attraction and chemistry are things that are very difficult to define and in the end that is usually what comes down to...on the show and real life. No matter how nice a person may be, no matter how nicely they may fit our ideal, no matter how well they fit with our own family and background or even what we think we may want, in the end, it comes down to something very intangible that can never really be explained. If any of these guys was portrayed as really nasty or something, then I would have to wonder about why she is going for someone like that, but that does not seem to be the case here....It is bland guy #1 vs. bland guy #2 vs. bland guy #3.  

She said that about Brooks. That it just can't be explained why.

You know I am a Drew fan so of course I am going to defend him. No need to read on if you don't like him.
He spent a semester in Italy, speaking the language fluently. He surfs and skydives. Not adventurous? I beg to differ.
He has been through a lot during his childhood: divorced parents at a young age, alcoholic father, a sister with special needs. Yet, he doesn't seem bitter at all, but caring (the way he looked at Melissa, the way he's with his nephew and niece) and "kindhearted" (Des' word), I think he's overcome many adversities.
Michael said he's funny and he certainly was in Kasey's b-day party. (They were all funny! Zac and Zack there too)
Does that mean Des should choose him? No, I don't think it's necessary true. Different strokes for different people.
Does this have anything to do with what we are discussing here? No, but I just have to

If Brooks was never in the picture or wasn't the spoiled F1 then I don't think I'd have to rethink her. I mean, because I wouldn't have put them two together, right? Oh, I'd try, like everyone tries, but I wouldn't see her as sold on his type, yet.

I'm just grateful that Des has good enough taste to keep him around for a while. And Michael G. would agree with me. He said that it was obvious she was smitten with Brooks which proves that she has great taste. :Smiley:That's probably why I like Michael G. He's smart (as a side) and he has great taste, too. Invited Brooks to even hang out with him already.

I know your fave is Brooks, but even Michael G said Drew is a really good guy, funny, quirky and great to be around.  SO, if Brooks was in the picture but not the spoiled one, how would you of felt?  Would you of been upset that Des didn't pick him?  I am asking these questions as you opened the door above but didn't really explain so just asking for a bit of help.  Thanks.

Umm. It's hard to say since I've only truly been FOR a contestant twice, and those are the only two times I've been on this site. Other than really liking a contestant, I see no reason to hang out on this site. I really don't care about the others. I might see a connection between the lead and one of the contestants (JP and Ashley) at one point and start to pull for that contestant because I can just see that contestant is good for the lead. But I've only been all out FOR Jef (largely because he's from Utah and Mormon). And Brooks (largely because he's gorgeous! Utah and might be Mormon is just a funny side note.)

If Brooks was not the spoiled F1 I don't know if I would've come back. I would've gotten the spoiler and then just watch the show. It made me laugh when I saw it was Brooks. I was like Utah sweep! I didn't even know Brooks was from Utah at first. I might've come back on to see his pics because he's GORGEOUS, but I wouldn't have wanted to put myself through the misery of some other contestant getting all the glory and recognition. I guess I'm kind of competitive. But when my fav is the F1, well, I like to see what people say about them. That's kind of irritating, too, but I like a little debate and challenge.

And if it was spoiled that Des didn't pick Brooks, why would I care who SHE picks? I don't need her to love my favorite. I'm just glad I had time to get to know him better. But Brooks is the F1, so I'm going to enjoy it. . . . and sort of hate it, because he'd be a great Bachelor, too

Edit: In no way have I said I don't like Desiree. Just making that clear.

I would only talk on this site if my fav was the spoiled F1. The only other time I'd come on here and talk would be if I KNOW one of the contestants. Those are the only two times. Other than that, I just don't see the point of putting yourself through that misery.

I don't see Brooks as being a great Bachelor...he is too indicisive for that, but he is also kind of bland...like Des. A big  on that. I don't mind him or have anything against him, but I am not drawn to him either. He is inoffensive to me and a little too soft for me. It's hard to explain what I mean by soft...not exactly metrosexual like Drew with the hair and I don't think he is gay or anything, just his voice, his mannerisms etc., don't seem to have that certain strength that I like in a male lead. I would have a problem with Drew or Chris for the same reason.

I never understood the comments about Drew being sheltered, childlike, etc. Obviously we're not being shown much of Drew all season but obviously there's much more to him.  Ditto with the other guys and we only know what they've chosen to show us or what Des says about them. It may be that Brooks is the least adventurous of the 3 guys.  :laughingoutlou

Aunties_Love, I think the bolded is such a good question, I wanted to try to answer too. I am a Brooks fan, and I'd like to think it's for more reason than just the spoilers, but I don't think it's possible to be sure. I am always disappointed when the lead doesn't pick my favorite, although I get over the disappointment pretty quickly, especially when the lead is clearly happy with his/her choice. Desiree was my favorite in Sean's season, but he made the best choice for him with Catherine. If I met Brooks, Chris, and Drew myself, Brooks is the one I'd be most interested in getting to know better. All three are clearly fine men. I love a season when my favorite and the lead's favorite are one and the same. But I try very hard to see who's best for the lead, even if it's not my favorite. It appears to me that of the F3, Chris is the most mature and the most ready to make a life-long commitment. I just can't tell who's first in Desiree's heart, but I believe she will let her heart do the choosing.
