I was indicating the degree of jealousy that was similar to what we saw with Chantal in Brad's season, but whereas with her we saw the female version where she cried, and with him we saw the male version where he clenched his teeth, got silent, and walked out of the room.

I never intented for anyone to think I meant JP had serious emotional conflicted difficulties that would make him a detriment to himself, a marriage partner and society as a whole.

I don't know what in the world happen to my initial comment, but I kind of feel like I was in a Chicken Little story.

Now, I feel better. I don't know this man from Adam. i was just commenting on the edit.

Bloomers, JP never talked of "jealous rage" with his brother. (Feel free to go back and listen to it.) He only said he had a difficult time for a few days and that it tore him up to see Ashley with other men. The only time "jealous rage" was mentioned by him was as a joke in the commentary that he added while watching the episode on Monday. During that part of their conversation, he typed in "no more jealous rages, promise!" To me it was so clearly meant as a joke (and as somebody else said, so clearly not a thing any person who really had jealous rages would joke about) that I'm frankly kind of stunned that people are misinterpreting this so much.

Ok, the point I am trying to make is that I brought up a small edit point that somehow before it was over got blown to smithereens. I was trying to point out that the edit showed (a degree) of jealousy in JP. Since then he himself has used the word and added ( in some fashion or the other) the word "rage" to it which I never meant to construe.

I still maintain that there are degrees of jealousy just like there are degrees of other traits. He sulked over his jealousy for a week, but when it festered and came to a head, he handled it in a mature fashion. Therefore, to me while, yes, jealousy is not one of his better traits, it appears that he can handle it. At least it didn't pop up in nearly every episode like it did with Chantal!

We're on the same page with this, but I just wanted to clarify what was actually said, because when a poster (particularly an illustrious one such as yourself) quotes something, it often gets taken as fact, and then can grow legs and run in the wrong direction for days. Was just trying to nip that in the bud, so to speak.

And as has been just pointed out, depending on which side of the fence one is sitting on, certain things will get "blown to smithereens", in direct opposition to the intentions of the original poster.

After Hong Kong (when I believe Ashley was firmly on the JP train), they had to make his jouney go downhill. There was no way it could continue to climb without major obstacles.

The source said (if I remember right) that JP's edit would deteriorate. The source attributed it to jealousy, but the main point is that the edit will become increasingly less positive (How is that for a description?) :giggle:

We saw the jealousy and crabiness in Taiwan, then the wounded man issues highlighted by his family, problems on the fantasy date, family issues on MTP ...

His edit has to go that way (as your souce said) because (IMO) there is no other way to get drama and suspense at the FRC because Ashley made up her mind in Hong Kong.

I am not sure what part Ryan is going to play, but I am convinced there must be some part or some piece of wisdom he imparts, or it wouldnt have been worth beinging him to Fiji. They have Dino's leaving for drama, they dont need him for that.

Does any of this make sense?

ITA and mentioned as such several pages back (or on another thread, can't honestly remember!). If he's in love with the girl, thinks they have some sort of an understanding, and wants to confirm that she's on the same page, of course he's going to want to make sure she's not planning to be intimate with the other guys. And if she shares his feelings, she'll tell him that, but I suspect it will be all discussed off camera. Unless the producers do want to include this jealousy angle in the story again, in which case JP will be prompted to bring it up with Ash, and she will have to give a vague answer (but will no doubt quell his fears once they are in the privacy of the FS). And he'll look very uncomfortable but will get past it. Those waiting to see a "jealous rage" are going to be sadly disappointed.
