My friend told me but I still hope for ben love the guy he is a sweet, sensitive, intelligent, thoughtful, mature, loveable, loyal and laid back family guy and any girl would be treated like a queen with him.

Chantal was very upset the last epi before hometowns.......kind of how JP acted.

Well, since the show isn't over yet, how can it be said that jealousy doesn't rear it's head for him again........

This was commentary that JP made just recently while watching the HTD episode. It's on the ABC website I believe, when you watch the show. So he knows whether or not he had any more "incidents" over the course of filming and he said he didn't.

There has never been any doubt in my mind that Ben is all of what you listed above and more. Ashley just happened to fall in love with someone else. I wish Ben every happiness that life can bring him. :awesome:

I backed out of the discussion when it began to get what I thought was ugly and/or unreasonable on the episode discussion thread.
I simply mentioned early on that the edit was showing JP displaying jealousy - no more, no less. It was not even meant to imply jealous rage like he said to his brother. I have no idea whether he was speaking tongue in cheek to his brother, or whether this was his way of letting his brother know that he had been in a black mood for the better part of that week. Whatever it was, his brother seemed to understand immediately and wasn't surprised. He knows JP.
However, I did not mean to construe any kind of violent temper or mental, serious emotional problems.

I was indicating the degree of jealousy that was similar to what we saw with Chantal in Brad's season, but whereas with her we saw the female version where she cried, and with him we saw the male version where he clenched his teeth, got silent, and walked out of the room.

I never intented for anyone to think I meant JP had serious emotional conflicted difficulties that would make him a detriment to himself, a marriage partner and society as a whole.

I don't know what in the world happen to my initial comment, but I kind of feel like I was in a Chicken Little story.

Sorry, but really don't think so. When you look at it, with JP's yes there was fun, but there was a lot of serious doubtful conversations as well. With Ben's date, there was a lot of substance there that makes you understand who Ben is, the connection that Ben and Ash have.

I have to agree to disagree with you on this. That's not how I saw it...sorry! I understand who Ben is now...but didn't do anything for me in regards to Ben & Ashley. I think it's a case of personal opinion on what people find to be the most important and best of the four.

I love ben and thought he won but have recently heard otherwise. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I trust the person who gave me the info. I AM STILL HOPING FOR A MIRACLE but if it does not happen so be it. Everything in life happens for a reason.

I know so much hoopty-doo has been made over that Taiwan episode, but I think one of two reasons we saw how he handled his Rough Rough Week, WITHOUT getting violent and simply avoiding the conversations, was done intentionally for Ashley and, perhaps, members of her family. I have the feeling that her family backstory was not all that "harmonious".

A second reason was to show how she lifts him up from his "depths", bringing him back to Cloud 9. Heck, he did it for her post-Bentley. It only fair for each to build the other as a team.

But this is something that I think everyone can agree on...............if you are on Ben's side of the fence, you will see it one way.............if you are on JP's side of the fence, you will likely see it another way.

From Ben's side of the fence, a lot more was shown with regards of the connection Ben and Ashley were getting. IMO.

He only said he had a difficult time for a few days and that it tore him up to see Ashley with other men. The only time "jealous rage" was mentioned by him was as a joke in the commentary that he added while watching the episode on Monday. During that part of their conversation, he typed in "no more jealous rages, promise!" To me it was so clearly meant as a joke (and as somebody else said, so clearly not a thing any person who really had jealous rages would joke about) that I'm frankly kind of stunned that people are misinterpreting this so much.

Again, IMO, it depends on what side of the fence you are sitting on as to how you see certain comments.......IMO

The show was over May 12 and Ashley picked JP as her fiance. There is no more reason to be jealous of Ben or other guys since Ashley is head over heels in love and only has eyes for JP.

Ok, the point I am trying to make is that I brought up a small edit point that somehow before it was over got blown to smithereens. I was trying to point out that the edit showed (a degree) of jealousy in JP. Since then he himself has used the word and added ( in some fashion or the other) the word "rage" to it which I never meant to construe.

I still maintain that there are degrees of jealousy just like there are degrees of other traits. He sulked over his jealousy for a week, but when it festered and came to a head, he handled it in a mature fashion. Therefore, to me while, yes, jealousy is not one of his better traits, it appears that he can handle it. At least it didn't pop up in nearly every episode like it did with Chantal!
