Remember how they used the bolded part in the preview. That's a perfect example of how they use splice and dice to totally fool people.
Yes, and then when they were watching the fireworks he said he would be happy if she decides she wants to meet his family.
Did you'll also hear something about after she meets his family and all goes well he will be running to the finish line?

The CH interview also makes sure to tell us that the lead girl is so much into this guy who's not quite there yet in terms
of expressing his feelings etc. Isnt this Des' MO when it comes to guys, that she's always finding someone who is not expressive
and not into her as much as she's into him.
So where is the fairy tale in all of this, if she is just repeating her pattern? If Brooks came back and realized the error of his ways, its not the kind of
fairy tale that the viewers are looking for.
This is the Bachelorette, the man should be working hard to win the girl not the other way around.
I love this post. Thank you. This is a nightmare of a season. Whether they kiss and make up I don't care. The damage has already been done as far as I am concerned with his reluctance to say he loves her.
Run Des, run!
Summed up nicely.
What girl ever wants to love the guy more than he loves her?
It seems some are damned if they profess love early, and some are damned if they profess love later. If they are at that level at the end, that's all that matters. Des has said she won't settle, and also that when Brooks falls in love, he really falls in love, which I take to mean he doesn't take it lightly or casually, and that once he professes love, you can believe he's all in.

IMO this is the best season I have seen. It is so real what she feels for Brooks and even the editing cannot hide it. They both admit that its easy and that it just works with them. I do feel Brooks has feeling for Des but is not as open about it and it trying to see them outside the bubble. When he is going to say I love you he is going to mean it. The others are throwing the ILY out way to early and all of them on the same night.
Someone mentioned this is not a fairytale and I have to agree. This is much better because it is real and more like a romance novel where the couple have their up and downs but in the end love conquers all.
This is so much better than the night before the FRC the lead is conflicted between 2.

Re: Episode 7 - 7/08 - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion - Spoilers
Some really great posts. Too many to quote, so here goes.
Starting in episode 2, we see Des tell Brooks that "you have to go through all of that to end up where you need to be". At the time, I just thought she was foreshadowing her own "journey", but it must be about both of them. Then we have Brooks look straight into the camera on an ITM and tell us, "strap on your seatbelts, this is going to be an awesome ride". This indicates a positive outcome for Brooks, to me. There is no other way to interpret the word "awesome", at least that I can see. He also made some reference to being on a roller coaster. It is not a coincidence that roller coasters and their metaphors are mentioned several more times in the season by others. Even Zak on the group date in Munich talked in metaphors about falling in love being similar to going down a scary high steep mountain.
The Bryden departure reason, seeming strange to us (and it was) might be foreshadowing something to come later. It was no coincidence that he had to tell Des when she was on her date with Chris instead of waiting until she was alone. The fact that it was Chris and not someone else, is this more foreshadowing?
It seems that everyone remaining (even Michael who told her he was ready to spend the rest of his life with her) has been manipulated to show that they're at the finish line except for Brooks. Des is there for Brooks; Chris, Zak and Drew are there for Des (before HTD's, mind you); and they show Brooks jogging at the half-way marker, going WTF?
Body language alone at this point in filming, it was Brooks all the way. The question is does she have some revelation that moves her down another path later in the season? Maybe if that message in a bottle washed up on a beach in Antigua, we'll have our answer that something else was meant to be. Ha Ha!
This season has been finely crafted from beginning to end.

Think of both one on one dates Brooks has had. Both time he referenced a forever. On the Hollywood sign he said to think this could be the girl I spend the rest of my life with. On cloud 9 , he made a similar reference. He's picturing something serious with Des and there's nothing wrong with a guy who uses his head and his heart to make such a big decision.

The guys may see that Des has a connection with Brooks but they probably all believe they also have a connection. We see the difference in dates but they don't (until now). I think it's possible the guys are more easily manipulated because they probably don't follow the show all that closely or heard what happens behind the scenes.
her blog seems to indicate that he will meet them, as she says that she wanted to talk to him before he met the guys

Yeah, she does and that's why Nate isn't going to do or say anything that makes her mad. You know this show.

Maybe this show is just too fast for him or his family reminded him about reality outside the bachelor bubble but I'm very nervous for Des. I don't like that she's all in at this point. She's given up the control the lead usually has and I have to wonder if she's thinking about practical matters such as his religion.
I'm also feeling bad for the other guys because they don't have a chance unless she gets cold feet about Brooks on his HTD. Luckily the recovery time seems fast after the show for most.
I wonder if many past leads have had conversations like that with CH but we've just never been shown it before? they didn't want to give away the ending so soon so we get the "I'm falling for them all" edit, but this season something seems to throw their relationship for a loop, so we're "allowed" to see her say that she's fallen in love with Brooks because there isn't gong to be a straight path to the FRC??
It's very possible that others have said that before. I know Meredith was all about Ian from early on in her season. I do think we were only shown what Des said because Brooks probably leaves & returns. I don't need the guys to profess love at this point (or really ever for some of them) but would like to feel that Brooks has fallen for Des.
Yes - there is a reason that they are showing us so much of this stuff at this point. That itself it a first in the editing. They are setting Des up for some huge fall in the very near future.
I'm not sure whether that is going to come from Brooks alone with the gentle guidance from his mother or a perhaps a bit of Nate or really a combination.
But something huge is coming up which IMO will be the change that Des was alluding to in her interviews.
Somehow I don't think its a temporary bump either. Otherwise they would not have this sort of setup.
I am getting a feeling of Ashley with Bentley all over again. They edited Ash to show that she was crazy head over heels for Bentley within 2 episodes and then when he left they made it out to seem that her season was essentially done. That was what they edited. The truth was in part correct and mostly completely wrong.
They seem to be doing exactly the same thing with Des. I really feel for her right now. You could see the change in her face when CH brought up the relucatance from Brooks. It sorta set her mind moving and then she ended it with a resolute - this is not the end for me (or something).
I don't think that you can make a total parallel with Ashley/Bentley because Bentley left so early in the season, after just 3 episodes, which was only about a week into real filming time, and without even having a 1 on 1 date. Brooks will be leaving Des broken-hearted after 8 or 9 episodes in contrast, and with only 1-2 episodes for Des to recover, assuming that he's gone for good (which I DON'T; I'm quite certain he'll come back at some point on the finale and that the spoiler is correct).
ITA that the producers, while not giving the contestants scripts, are totally (subtly) manipulating them all once they get "the lay of the land" (ie, who the lead is favoring, and what the suitors are really thinking) in order to get a good ending. Viewers don't want to be devastated at the end of the finale IMO (only exception would be if the lead is shown to be completely unlikeble, and Des certainly hasn't gotten a bad edit) and IMO the producers wouldn't allow Brooks to leave if they really weren't certain they'd be able to "coax" him back, if necessary. I think the only question remaining is whether they needed to coax him, or if he came back of his own volition. After all, they got Ed to come back (as well as Reid) for Jillian, I put nothing past their powers of persuasion.

I empathize with Des right now. I suspect we've all been there before. Even if this works out for Des and Brooks in the end, even if it worked out for you before (and really it usually doesn't) loving someone else more than they love you or at least your feelings clearly being ahead of their feelings is a rotten spot to be. And yes, she clearly knows this is the case as evidenced by her conversation with CH. They may be in the same book or even the same chapter but they're definitely not on the same page right now.
Something major is going to have to develop with both her relationship with Brooks and her relationships with Chris/Drew in order to spurn this season along and still give us the ending as told by the spoilers. That's the only way Chris and Drew both make it so far and Brooks still ends up F1.

I don't think you can compare the Brooks situation with the Bentley situation at all.
1) It's too late in the season for Des to really come full circle with anyone else like Ashley did with JP
2) Bentley had malicious intent
