Chris and Drew are an afterthought at this point, an undifferentiated "chrissendrew," or "the remaining men," as Desiree put it more kindly. CH should be talking about and contrasting the two last men standing, like always, but he's not.
This is Brooks' journey now, whether CH likes it or not.
Even if they had to hogtie him and throw him in a burlap bag tptb would have made sure Brooks "came back." Fortunately, it seems Brooks was quite happy to "return." You get the feeling at the end of the last episode, when he asked her "Should I stay?" if she'd have told him to stay he would have. But they needed him in the limo for a limo exit pic.
I'm not saying the breakup was scripted or anything--you could argue that Des was more coherent and controlled that you normally are in a breakup, but NOBODY could have written that word salad Brooks came out with. But they were awfully cosy for a long time, before Des finally withdrew and wrapped her arms around her knees. And later there was a moment when they were back in the consoling embrace when their fingers (unconsciously?) stroked each other's. Someone upthread (Monica?) suggested that if the cameras hadn't been there they might have started making out. Maybe. Who knows?
did anyone catch the odd thank you in the breakup speech. one was when they were sitting and Brooks had pulled Des into his arms when she says she wants the simple things and cries on his chest and he says I'm sorry and then Des says: no, don't. thank you.
then again when they are walking an and give that last hug goodbye it sounds like a you're welcome. strange...
perhaps this is the price they had to pay to MF... a prank of some sort?

Why? It getting ugly again?
I don't know if it is ugly. But it's annoying to have his thread full of people claiming his fans will be disappointed tomorrow.
I don't post negative things in other guys threads. Never have. Which is indicative of why this is the only active "fan" thread.
So true. I read Chris and Drew threads which are totally love fests and wouldn't feel I wanted to rile anyone up or get into arguments or ruin their fun fandom. In Brooks thread there is no such courtesy afforded his fans. Glad there is this thread.

Yeah usually it is about "F2 men" not "remaining men" or "other men" as I've been seeing more often than not. No one seems to terribly interested in a "Chris vs Drew" comparison or show down. Des put the nail in the coffin of any believability of one of the others being F1 when she flat out said while they are amazing and love her she can't love them back the same way. I wasn't the one who said anything about them making out during the moment but I def did notice how despite the subject matter and the hurt and sadness both couldn't seem to take themselves away from the situation. They knew they probably needed to stop talking and leave but neither one could do it. Remember the saying "actions speak louder than words?" Brooks was saying he didn't think he could get "there" yet he couldn't bring himself to leave it seemed.
I was going to (insert any productive activity) but then well...........Nick

I don't know when he stopped. sfrank said he was on it for 2 hrs and then stopped. Why?
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

Yes she did say "thank you" according to the closed captions.
