Oh, I see what you mean. I get where they are coming from though. They got all these posts about Brooks being F1 so they don't agree and will make it known that they don't.

We really don't have much backing it up that Brooks is F1. I sure wish we did.

not so ugly, but more that it gets frustrating... I know for me, I want to see some Brooks and Des in the banner above... it has been as depressing as anything not to have them up there.

I'm wondering about the timing of this announcement. Usually they wait until DWTS to announce Bachelor.
The timing of this seems weird. I hope it's not to deflect conversation from the couple.
While I believe that she picked him, I am not confident in proposal or their current status.

Yup. Who knew that being a normal human being and having rational thoughts could constitute as an "issue" but in CH land and Bachelor land it is apparently a taboo subject.

I am not worried about it. This isn't unprecedented in the Bachelor franchise. Part of it could be with no Bachelor Pad this year this is the most opportune time to announce it. I don't recall them doing it in relation to the start of DWTS. I think the DWTS thing is only when one of the contestants/lead is going to be on the upcoming season. Again Ali was announced at finale of her Bachelor season (where Jake was also announced to be on next DWTS) and Ashley was announced at end of Em/Brad ATFR.

It was interesting how about 90% of CH's conference call with the medai was about Brooks and/or the breakup. The media buzz is all Brooks/Des now. Hugesmile

Chris and Drew are an afterthought at this point, an undifferentiated "chrissendrew," or "the remaining men," as Desiree put it more kindly. CH should be talking about and contrasting the two last men standing, like always, but he's not.

This is Brooks' journey now, whether CH likes it or not.

Even if they had to hogtie him and throw him in a burlap bag tptb would have made sure Brooks "came back." Fortunately, it seems Brooks was quite happy to "return." You get the feeling at the end of the last episode, when he asked her "Should I stay?" if she'd have told him to stay he would have. But they needed him in the limo for a limo exit pic. :stirthepot

I'm not saying the breakup was scripted or anything--you could argue that Des was more coherent and controlled that you normally are in a breakup, but NOBODY could have written that word salad Brooks came out with. :shock: But they were awfully cosy for a long time, before Des finally withdrew and wrapped her arms around her knees. And later there was a moment when they were back in the consoling embrace when their fingers (unconsciously?) stroked each other's. Someone upthread (Monica?) suggested that if the cameras hadn't been there they might have started making out. Maybe. Who knows?
