This is one of those things that most annoys me about this show in general, but, this season in particular. Here we have a real steamy make out session...with someone who doesn't really interfere with the story of Des and her final 1...who they are trying to hide. Why not show this to divert attention from her F1? It is not manufactured drama/action. It is real. Why throw in fake drama about Bryden, Brian, Ben, etc...when you have other things that are real that could be used for dramatic purposes...Make outs with Zack, Drew, JP? Dumb producers.

So, I don't post often but wanted to tell you what a unspoiled friend did last night. It was about half way through the episode. I haven't been all that interested in the show this season. So I was switching back and forth with HGTV shows. Anyway, my friend knows I read the spoilers and always makes me promise to not tell her anything at all. So, last night I get a text from her that says, " D, I'm not crazy about any of these guys. Who does she pick?" Me, "U really want to know?" Her, "Yes! I really haven't like this season so far." Me, "Me neither....she picks Brooks." Her, "Figured he's nice but something about him is unattractive. I think he talks like he is gay. But he is okay. Better than the rest." It was funny because she is a big fan and adamant about not knowing anything!!!

For purely selfish reasons, I would have loved to see the makeout session with JP, since for me he's the hottest guy there. Embarressed!

It's puzzling that Des mentioned it in her blog, considering she didn't mention JP as one of the ones she wanted to kiss the most. Does that means she just thinks he's hot, so makes out with him even though he's not that great a kisser? Or did she mention his kissing to CH and it was cut (along with the actual footage of the deed), and Zak focused on instead since JP didn't make F4 (or even get a solo date) and Zak did?

Regarding the guys "tattling" on the ones they feel aren't there "FTRR", I'm sure that the producers individually prod them and rile them up plenty to get them to talk about this topic amongst themselves. Personally, I suspect that neither Ben nor James are the villains (or bad people in real life) that the show is trying to insinuate; just that neither one was smart enough to keep their motives to themselves when "sharing" with the guys. For example, I'm pretty convinced that by now, both JP and Des realize that he ain't gonna be her F1, and he's sticking around more for the travel/cameraderie (and she's keeping him because he's hot and fun to be around), but he's smart enough to not brag or condescend in front of the guys or let on that he's there for any other reason than to, cough, marry Des. He obviously understands how to handle himself favorably in a group dynamic, which Ben (and now James) obviously does not. Gotta say it cracks me up when contestants boast about how they have no interest in making friends when they sign up for this show; have they never watched it to understand that they will be locked up with strangers and nothing else for a month, and the only thing you CAN do is interact with these people? If you're not good in this kind of social environment, perhaps you should find a different kind of reality show to be on in order to "promote yourself".

I also find it amusing that in the exit limo, as others have mentioned, Ben started sounding a lot like Wes, since didn't he pretend to be Wes in the rap video? The producers sure set that one up. :Nod:

The only fly in the ointment with this, is the main generally has little to no control over the edit, with more emphasis on the no than the little. :Embarressed!:Des has more control over leaving Drew out of her blog than she would have over what TPTB decide to edit.
It will be interesting to see what the reasoning for Drew's edit is, if we ever do. I doubt they left the kissing between Drew and Des on the cutting room floor because it was too heavy. That does not seem to be their modus operandi.

Yeah but if something bad went down between Des / Drew / Brooks towards the end then the editors maybe doing Bres a favour by keeping Dres out of our screens as well.

ETA : The clip in the preview of Des and Drew kissing was pretty comfortable. Their legs were on top of each other as well. Perhaps that hit too close to home for the new couple. IDK I cannot understand why else no drew.

I get tired of hearing all the credit the producers get. I know that's where I differ from people on here. How can you enjoy a show when you're only focusing on the producers and their real or imagined tricks? Maybe this is to blame for the lack of enjoyment of this show. People are too focused on the tricks. I'm not looking on that side of things (much). I just want to see who clicks and doesn't and if I can see forever between two people. That's what I think is fun. That's what I get out of this show. Plus, seeing some cute guy once in a while.

So many opinions. Where to start. First, this was an entertaining episode. I laughed out loud a few times.

The episode started with Chris, so I'll start with Chris. If you're not spoiled I can see how people would find some sort of nice relationship and connection between them. I can see how she likes him a lot, but doesn't feel that deep sizzle she feels for Brooks. I think a lot of times they seem like just friends and he catches himself at it and acts all dorky and awkward until she reassures him. I don't know if ultimately they'd get along, if he'd be what she needs. I don't think he'd make a very interesting Bachelor, either. Now Brooks, he'd make a good Bachelor, and I think it'd be very interesting to see the girls go gaga for him a whole season. Please, God, make Brooks the F2 or F3. Hugesmile

The group date was so fun! Who wouldn't want to go bulleting down a mountain on a sled? You could tell the guys had a blast. Practically every date Brooks is on is on a mountain.

I don't see what people see in Zak. He is not attractive, at all, and on a show about kissing and love would be very unwatchable and kind of gross. I do not think he'd succeed as a Bachelor. I don't even think some of the Bachelorettes would even be attracted to him. They certainly wouldn't fight over him. I think Des keeps him way too long.

I've thought James was in it for other reasons from the start. He just looks like the type. He acts like a little boy around Des. He turns on the charm. It's annoying. Brooks has him pegged. I can't wait until he's gone.

I don't see the appeal of Juan Pablo, either. He speaks like a little boy. I don't find that attractive. He's not attractive, to me. It'd be another miss, for me, if he was the Bachelor.

Kasey is a non-factor, although he's cute. He seems kind of little-boyish, as well. Mikey seems like a really nice guy. Too meatheaded (in actions and looks) for me, but he seems to have made good friends with the rest of the guys and that says something.

Now for Brooks. I'm going to take off my "I'm pulling for him" glasses. Even if I wasn't pulling for him I'd think he is gorgeous! So, I'd still be pulling for him. no idea

I have no choice but to pull for him. I go gaga for him and want to see every frame (in filming) that he is in. He's just totally my type of gorgeous. I prefer the prettier boys, but he's also a little scruffy around the edges, which makes him a manly pretty. I don't usually like scruffy, but it makes his pretty just the right amount and sexy. Love his hair, his eyes, his mouth, his smile, his cheekbones, his dimples, his cleft chin, his jawline, his tallness, his build, his long, slender fingers; and his sexy voice. Yes, I said sexy. How can people not hear the sexy in that soft spoken, but virile voice?

I think he knows he's a sexy man. Why else would he do his hair the way he does? That's a sexy man hairdo. And he probably doesn't have a shortage of girls, at home, who have had a crush on him, and some who are probably weeping right now. I've never been so attracted to a contestant.

Now, to continue without my "pulling for him" glasses. I like that he is going slowly. I don't know if anyone else noticed that, but he doesn't seem to view himself as far along the process as the spoiled people do. He said his "emotional process" is moving along nicely. He said that the rose is an affirmation that their "relationship is progressing." He said that "something changed" that evening and that now he really wants the rose, as if before he didn't really care. Like I said, I like that he seems to be progressing more slowly and realistically than we think, that it wasn't as over-the-top for him, that he doesn't think his relationship with her is the only one. He hasn't been reading the spoilers, it seems.

I think he is getting a little jealous now. More so when she has a relationship (that he's now seen) with a guy that he doesn't like/thinks is a bad guy. That may be the first time he's gone out of the way to see what kind of a relationship she has with another guy. I think he did it out of part jealousy and part getting a read on James.

So, to Brooks, he's still growing to like her and feel things for her. He's there for her, he pays close attention to her, but at the same time he isn't trying to impress her. He just seems to know she likes him and isn't too worried, which shows that he does feel the connection. He hasn't seemed too worried, up to this point, about the connections he has with others.

On the other hand, she is gaga over him. At least when they're alone. I see the glances, I see her standing by him, I see her seeking out his face, but she spends too much time with the other guys, kissing the others guys. That is the thing that always bothers me about this show. In real life, Brooks would probably never see that other stuff—the other dates; the other kissing—and if she really liked him, she also wouldn't be dating a bunch of other guys at the same time making her look like a little tramp and a cheater?

Is there nothing but chemistry between Des and Brooks? I don't know. I can see the argument in that. He does a lot of the talking. He is a talker, at least around her. He just goes on and on. It's cute and charming and funny and if I were here I'd just want to pull his face in and kiss him, too. They really do seem to get each other and bounce off each other. It's just natural. They seem very comfortable with each other. She seems most comfortable with him, and she said so much when she gave him the rose. I think Brooks must talk a lot and smile a lot when he's nervous. He is very comfortable in his own skin, but I do think she makes him a little nervous. He even said so, post-show, on Twitter, that he didn't remember being so nervous and that everyone will have to see if he gets better.

Their kisses are real and deep and a lot more passionate than any of the others they've shown so far. She just pulls him in and shuts him up and smothers him. Yet those kisses don't seem to make him too sure of himself or their relationship and cocky around the other guys. I think he's not putting too much stock in them. Maybe he's use to that type of reaction from girls. Maybe he feels confident, but he's not a jerk. Maybe he doesn't know what to think.

I just like that his story arc is much more real and slower and than we're giving him credit for.

Michael and Ben, I just really don't care. Michael is kind of cute, but too short and maybe too pretty. I like that he finally looks like he likes girls and has a tough side, this episode.

Drew grew on me this episode. He is a cutie pie! I use to think he was straight-laced and too uptight, but he is growing on me. He is a cutie! And out of all the others (except for Brooks) I think he would make the best next Bachelor! I would watch that show. Please make that cutie the next one (if Brooks is not). I think his adherence to right and wrong and protecting Des' honor is so cute, too. More Drew, please. I use to think he was too pretty, but as they show his personality I see more.
