First, I forgot to say thanks to sophienette for reminding Robert.  

Robert tweeted some weeks ago about some scene being the 'best in Bachelorette history' and said he would let us know once the episode was coming.

Hi Rosie. I think Fleiss likes Zak's personality the most. He's a little bit out there willing to do things others wont ( like on his intro). With Zak Fleiss has a lot of material to work with. So far they're giving him a good, fun but also sensitive edit in my opinion to see if he builds up a big fan base. CH also promotes him as a good guy which is another sign to me that they are trying to see if he does well with the audience.

I agree with you that if Chris Harrison and MF had to pick the next Bachelor without anyone else having a say Zak would be their guy.

Maybe so but don't see him being a fan favorite at least so far as being a lead. I don't think anyone sees him as a real love interest and that's important if he's to be believable as someone 25 women want to be with. I know they had Bob but we know that was a disaster of a season.

Albean I think the reason Blobs season was not very good was more related to Blobs personality rather than his looks. I think initially people were rooting for him because even though he wasn't the looker that other guys were on Trista's season, he was funny and he had a good backstory. Unfortunately, when he became the lead, his head swelled and he seemed more interested in promoting himself than finding love. I didn't see any chemistry with anyone. Naturally, the same could turn out to be the case for anyone who becomes the lead ... see Jake ... but, I think production is really leaning towards Zack at the moment. He seems to have the humour and easy going, go with the flow nature that they like. He seems to be comfortable with himself and will give anything a go ... like Sean and all those self depricating shower/shirtless scenes. He is older than most of the others and seems to have done some soul searching and knows what he is looking for. In addition, he would seem to carry on the religious theme they started with Sean the born again virgin, except this time we have a man who was almost a priest! In all honesty, he is the only one who intrigues me. I think it could be a very good season if they put the effort in to build up his fan base and then choose a good group of women like they did for Sean. I think he is sincere enough and we could possibly have another successful bachelor.

I know nobody here thinks Zak is "hot", but does everyone think he's that unattractive? He is reasonably tall and has a good body, and I can't think of any particular feature he has that is horrendous. He's certainly better looking than the average guy out there. I'd say he's as good looking as Jason and better than Bob, Ben and Lorenzo. The producers will also be sure to give him a makeover if he's the lead. And I agree that out of the top 4, he appears to have the best storyline right now, and has shown the most "personality", not to mention he really has a pretty good singing voice, which I'm sure would be exploited by having him serenade the women on some of the dates.

What happened to the days when casting took into account what any of these guys had to offer in terms of lifestyle/financial security? And who is a better "catch" among an engineer, a banker and a salesman/model?

That said, as Jake's season proved, you really don't need a lead who is a catch and who all the women are extremely attracted to in order to get people to tune in.

I agree, IC. I guess I'm in the minority, but Zak has really grown on me. At first, I was rather indifferent about him, thinking he was a dufus meathead. Each episode he seems to peel back and expose more layers that I like. I think he is cute, funny, lives life and has also shown that he is intelligent and has a more serious introspective side. As you pointed out, he also has talent, which I find to be very attractive. Another thing that Fleiss usually looks for after the rock star wannabes and professional football player fiascos is sincerity. Is he really looking for love......and I think Zak is. And, he has killer abs......you can't overlook that.

Zak used to irk me but he has grown on me. He is deep and soulful. Seems loyal and trustworthy. Great personality.

I think Zak is attractive, I'm just not sold on his sincerity yet. I keep remembering how funny and full of personality Bob was in Trista's season and he turned out to be a real pig in his. I just don't want another guy full of personality that in the end all he wants is to see how many women he can score with. I'm just not sure if Zak might turn out to be another Bob. Can't shake that feeling. I hope I'm wrong.
