I don't like the idea of my spouse picking out something special for me per suggestion of another woman--my child's help ok, my sis' help, a close friend of mine's help ok--not another woman. I feel it's a reflection of her not me.

I agree Kasha. It's not that he got help... it's who helped him. And besides... I bet he knows a lot about purses

Perhaps this is how the conversation went during rehearsals last week:

P: "S, what are you getting Cat for her birthday?"
S: "She loves purses! So I'm getting Cat a bag of her choice from my store in Dallas."
P: "What?!"
S: "There's also a matching wallet. Plus a folding umbrella which will be handy whenever she visits Seattle."
P: "No. No. And no. You need to get something real fancy AND very exclusive."
S: "Like what?"
P: "How about a Louis Vuitton purse?"
S: "Isn't that rather expensive?"
P: "...." Scowling.
S "Uh..."
P "...." Glaring.
S: "Ok. You're right! But, maybe I can get Lisa to cover the entrees for the party as well."

Howdy Doo needs a lot of coaching.

1. Arie coached him how to kiss.
2. His sister Shay taught her not to choose this girl.
3. Chris Harrison taught him to open doors for Catherine before driving off,
4. Peta is teaching him how to shimmy and torture us with his sexy spatula hands, bubble butt, and to dance
without moving the lower part of his body.
5. Peta helped him on what purse to pick for Catherine.
6. Vanderpump helped him with drinks and appetizers.
7. Ashlee taught him to open a champagne bottle safely.

etc etc. I wonder who he will ask to coach him on what to do on their wedding night.

The teacher should start with, "This is a picture of a female ____.. , this is what you do. okay Sean do not cry, it will be alright.

I dislike the idea of Sean having Peta pick out the purse...but I dislike even more that he told the world. I mean sure sometimes guys need help but they aren't supposed to brag on it!

But one treat for Giudici that was entirely at the expense of Lowe was "a nice purse, which Peta helped me pick out," the hunky reality star said of the Louis Vuitton handbag he picked out as a gift.

To cap off the gifts and company, Giudici was especially impressed with Lowe's acclaimed routine from earlier in the night.

"She loved it," Lowe said. "She thought it was the best dance that we've had all season. She's always so supportive, though. Even if it was terrible, she'd say it was great."

Granting it's a joke. It is in bad taste. I really think he has no clue about women at all. Strange that Peta and Sean were interviewed when
it was her birthday. This tells me they(mags) are really not interested in what she has to say.

What a classless thing to say. His sense of entitlement has really gone to his head - the apps and drinks were more than generous - what a jerk. He needs to follow the old adage of "better to stay silent and let people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

I posted a similar response when I first saw this and then realized I was on the fan thread and deleted it. I don't think this is a sarcastic joke, but more of a very thinly veiled jab at Lisa and sooooooo tacky! If Lisa read this, I bet it is the last free drink he will be getting. This is probably my biggest doubt about Sean. He has made several comments that make me think he is really cheap. I hate when people think they are somehow entitled to free stuff. WTH is he thinking? Just because someone has more money than you does not mean they owe you anything. He should have thanked her for what she did provide. Even if he felt like she organized the party and then he got stuck with the bill... keep your mouth shut!

He MAY have been trying to be funny....but he wasn't. Had he no clue that his attempts at humor would be misinterpreted?? He appears to have learned nothing about media relations.

Even as a joke he bombed. Let's trust that his next foray in the entertainment field is not in stand-up comedy!!

He was probably wanting to brag to the whole world that the birthday dinner bash came out of his pocket not ABC's. It came out tacky.

He could have just kept it a secret. An LV purse cost nothing compared to how much he's earning with her help. Where was Lesley btw? A birthday bash for Catherine without Lesley? Seems not complete.

Absolutely agree with you. It was a very offensive and classless comment which reflects on him, not Lisa's generosity. Free drinks and appetizers? He should have been singing her praises to the heavens. Why did he go there to eat anyway if not to support a friend's business...in which case he should pay for everything. Restaurants work on a very thin profit margin and every freebie cuts into it. I dread to think of what his tip was. When you are comped with items you still have to tip on what the total amount would have been if you had been charged for the items, not the actual total. :why:
