I agree with you tigertiz. I also wonder if Ernesto wants to be the one to pursue and may have seen Alba's note and challenge as her pursing him. I also think that Ernesto was faced with losing Shandi - didn't like that at all and went in for the "big" kiss based on these emotions.

Yes, he told Shandi that he was sorry she had to go thru that when he hugged her as she exited the box. He knew he wasnt going to lose her but it pained him to see her have to worry about that.

There is something kind of harsh about Alba and I think that is a turn off to him. She is callous. She didnt pick up on Ernesto's not wanting dogs in her bed. She trashed Shandi's recipe as not being original. That wasnt necessary. It was just mean and petty. She came off as hard and cold, when she said that Shandi beat her at Miss Universe. She didnt have to say that at all. She could have just said that they competed in the same Miss Universe pageant and isnt it a coincidence. She comes off as being coarse, and bitchy. It's not an attractive quality.

It's okay to insult Shandi's cooking and laugh, but then when she turns around and says something about yours it's mean(?) Yeah ok. I think she just wants to beat Shandi at something. This is the reason I question her comeback and if it's for Ernesto or just to win. I guess we will see. Also, I don't think I've ever seen her smile when Ernesto isn't around. I agree that she comes off hard and cold. JMO

Yup - me too. Alba was initially my hands-down favorite but each episode a little less. I am still on fence whether I'd put her in the "mean girl" category but was surprised by some of her comments to Shandi, who I am starting to like more.

I need another episode before I decide if I am on team Alba or team Shandi or team ?. I am not so sure if Alba and Shandi are on for "right" reasons or to promote careers. Here are interesting profiles on each:
