Hmm. Just a humble observation on the recent contentious postings here.
Since we cannot see or hear each other, communication is easily misunderstood online. There are some snarky posts that I find extremely funny, and witty. However that kind of irreverent humor may be read by some as arrogant, dismissive and harsh. They are often mistakenly labeled as disrespectful.

To avoid offending people here, I often place a disclaimer using the many emoticon available here. Makes the jab feel more like a tickle. giggling

And regarding Catherine's ex, Grinch. I like his music. He's nothing like eminem and looks pretty dorky.

Yes, the Rapper can be a nice guy for all we know. However, Catherine said during the FD that in relationships she's a "traditional" girl. How does a traditional girl pick a rapper, even albeit a very nice one? Not to be judgmental but it takes a certain personality and mindset to be a rapper, one would think. Going from dating a dark-haired, edgy rapper to being engaged to a 6'2" born-again blond Christian 6'2" is a huge gap to say the least.

As a non white and a conservative I vigorously disagree with your comments. Conservatives aren't resistant to the President because of his race it's his vision for America that we disagree with. But you are entitled to your opinion as am I. For me this subject is closed. :yes:

I don't know about you but after seeing the youtube videos of the Grynch, I wouldn't think dating a guy who looks like he belongs to the Aryan Nation and raps "Fxxx You" every other line would make my "traditional" Asian mother happy.

I have nothing against being a poet as I come from a family of poets.

I just vigorously disagree that conservatives are open minded that is not true at all. If they are, racism will not even be associated with them.

But I could never understand non whites teaming up with white "conservatives". As most racist white rednecks will never associate with
colored people. It's like trying to be a member of a team that won't have you as a team member. I was born and bred in alabama and I know
the culture of my people.

And the disbelief that ensued after this actually happened on TV-- the massive vehicle of pop culture?

As long as people are truthful about themselves on why these forums are contentious-- then I don't have a problem.

If you don't like interracial marriages, then just owe up to it. Say it on these boards and be proud of your stance. No need to nitpick and gossip in order to besmirch Catherine's reputation.
