I can definitely tell you Emily did not get $250K. Her wardrobe was about that much though. She had to return a few pieces but most of it she kept.
But $250K as a salary? nope.

About Sean, $90K? I'm not sure it goes that high. TB is one of the cheapest productions on TV. There is zero production value. No script. Look he keeps saying JOURNEY. I keep thinking they have flash cards for him to say when there is a "moment".

The editing is horrific and the exposition choppy. There are USC film students who could edit TB more professionally.

Of course, the producers paid the hotels and airfare when he promoted-- but that's what every business in USofA does.

...and on top of that Sean had to pay tax on the engagement ring! again, no wonder Cat couldnt even look at the rock hahaha...she must be feeling sorry for Sean already. If they met outside TB, Cat would've probably settle for a simple inexpensive ring.

IRL, just comparing their jobs in Dallas & Seattle, Cath had more a career trajectory than him. Of course he is an entrepeneur so if it becomes franchised then that is where Sean will make his huge return. But toe to toe, careerwise she beats him.(that's why it is a big thing for her to give that all up!)

What about the girls do they get something for being on the show?

The girls got nothing. They brought their own wardrobe.

Previously TB would look for sponsors for the bachelor contestants wardrobe. Saks used to supply the wardrobe to the girls. But it had become such a mess, and I know this factually, as I know a stylist who worked for Saks that time. The dresses by and large would be returned in okay condition that they can clean and fit on models and showrooms. But there are bachelorettes who didn't care if they had their periods and stained the designer outfits. Some would even rip the skirts to make it shorter, or remove sleeves, they would do altering themselves with their bare hands and a kitchen knife and these were outfits retailing for hundreds some thousands of dollars. Of course some of the girls would leave with some outfits and pretend they didn't have an idea where that outfit went. So that was the end of that sponsorship.

Now TB says they don't outfit the girls in TB so they know for sure they are in there for love and not for swag.

Then why do they choose girls that are wannabe actresses? If they live in LA and they do not have a permanent job, and have no family ties in LA, it is pretty safe to conclude they are in LA to become famous.

I must say that's pretty stingy of TB for the girls not get something and have to return the outfits.

It'll be interesting to hear what you think of Jef with one F although your views be may be biased given what we know of the outcome of that relationship. He did seem cool during the show. Noticed all the guys in the house wore hooded sweatshirts now after Jef did.[/quote]

Jef looks so tiny and young. But I'll get over that first impression. Our runner here told me I should hasten to the hometown date where Jef's family obviously had $$$. Runner says Sean lost because Jef had a richer family. LOL

And I've been annoyed with Chris Harrison from day one that is why I could never watch a complete season of TB till this year. If the network wanted bigger ratings, they would change the host. He's too familiar the audience is jaded.

This season I only followed the progression because I wanted to know if I was right about my hunch. I haven't watched the entirety of all the episodes from the very start, because frankly the girls and their fake cry cries were simply bad acting. Lindsey isn't even really from MO, she was living in Orange County CA for a couple of years before auditioning in TB.

This makes sense. Also, not sure where I read this interview but CH made a comment once that Catherine "takes adjusting to" or something to that effect meaning it takes time for her to grow on you. This is surprising given that she made a lot of life-long friends in the house and I thought given how low-maintenance she is that production would find her easy to get along with too.

Overall, Catherine played it really smart and what sealed her fate were the love notes that she gave Sean throughout the show even from week 1. This meant that she was in constant contact with him even when they weren't together on dates and she was always on his mind. It also showed him her intelligence and humor in a subtle way that built up over time. She slipped through the evil production's grasps and planted the seed with Sean without their knowing. I agree.I wonder how she sent the notes though. If she sent through her handler then that handler must have been chastised.
You see I believe the producers let some girls push through-- like Tierra and COurtney and hijack or interrupt a date. But mostly these girls get handlers accompanying them even for the most mundane task of going to CVS. So they cannot use the phone, look at internet, use email. Everything was controlled. Cat must have read the rules and figured she could communicate with him without a producer blocking her. So I believe her handler helped her out and maybe is SOOL now. LOL

However, I know from a friend whose roomie works in TB, Cath was not expected by any of the casting to last beyond the first ceremony. She was just thrown in the mix as a politically correct filler with 3-4 other girls. So as she kept surviving every cutoff they were surprised and worried that she wasn't interesting enough to American audience (yeah yeah, because the TB producers wanted him to choose an unstable horny but bible thumping, g string clad, baby voiced bottled blondes with fake breasts). I'm not too sure about your sources. Cat is much more in sync with the production crew of the Bachelor than Ashlee. If anything, they would have been rooting for her. Elan has said what an awesome person she is. I think they were pleasantly surprised in Sean's choice. I also think it doesn't matter that she got a one on one later, so did Jef. I didn't say they disliked her. I said they expected Sean to send Cat home together with other girls (with different backgrounds )on the first ceremonies.

I think this also. She definitely beats him careerwise. Although, she probably have more opportunities now that she's in LA.

I also want to add that sometimes I get the impression from people (not from this board or from Sean) that somehow Cat should forever be grateful for being chosen by a white male. As if somehow she is of less value for being non white.
