I 100%believe that Kari was pursued to be on the show.

Ben was saying on the AfterBuzz interview that his situation with Kari was very relatable to viewers. Audiences relate to having that nagging question about "the one who got away" and could there be a second chance at a relationship that did not work. I believe that producers asked Ben (and all guys) for list of ex-girlfriends and they obliged.

However, I am not totally convinced that Ben asked Kari himself. It was not his "job" to cast the girls - he's not a producer or casting agent! I am leaning more towards believing that producers manipulated both of them ... happens ALL THE TIME! Now Ben is just singing the NBC tune and Kari is just talking way too much. If show was still on air, sure NBC would be muzzling her.

I also think they did some similar manipulation with Tim's line up. He had the gal ... was it Leah?? ... who was his friend, which is also relatable to viewers. Can you go from being just friends to something more? Totally producer set up.

Yeah but I have a problem with Ben saying he was shocked she was there and angry at the producers. He knew she was going to be on the show from the beginning. Why try to act shocked?

I don't recall him saying that he was "angry" at the producers during the AfterBuzz more that he was surprised. He said that both he and Tim were looking for a fresh start.

The only thing that I will believe for certain is that production will do anything and say anything to get maximum drama out of each episode. Since Ben is NOT an actor, I can believe that they would NOT tell him ahead of time about Kari going on show because they'd want a pure reaction from him.

LITTA123 said that both Kari and Ben could be telling their own versions/truth of the situation and I agree. Producers could have told Kari that Ben asked for her by name when all Ben did was supply a list of names of ex girlfriends to them.

Wow I just found some evidence on IG but if you dont hurry An look they might see that we caught onto it an delete it. Tim deleted his comment of that motorcycle pic when that girl starts with an E. sorry not too good at spelling but anyways he deleted the comment that someone posted one here that he commented back and jenna is also friends with her. Anyways on Week 28 not sure if anyone else caught this but both Hailey and Tim have pics on there IG accounts of lake austin. Not sure how to post pics but its very interesting that they both have pics of the same day.....ugh sooo confused now I am going to say F3 is Sara and Hailey is F1 Jenna F2. The whole cube being lit I think that was to throw us off! K. So like I said check it week 28 both Hailey and Tim post pics on Lake Austin on IG!!!!

If you watch the interview again he said "what was going through his mind when he heard Kari was how he was going to go and yell at the producers". I would say that is angry. I agree with you that production will do anything and everything however Ben is a powerful man in his industry. He would be pissed to be duped like that especially if he told them he wanted a fresh start and not to have her on the show. IMO he definitely knew she was coming on and do believe Kari when she said he asked her to come on. I am only going off of the tweets and Ben's interviews. So who knows I am admitting I could be totally wrong but all signs show him knowing something about it. Kari is pissed and think they may have had a deal but now she is getting trashed and she is speaking up. no idea

dd77, Tim has not deleted those comments...at least when I looked at them just now, those comments are still there. We have known that Hailey has been to Austin (and I have copies of the pics), but I think it was dismissed because of the F1's height. Does that sound correct to the rest of you...was that the primary reason?

I'm just curious as how Kari's word became the gospel.

Kari's word is not gospel at all. I was combining tweets and Ben' interviews. Look I do not care who he chooses. Just trying to figure out his sincerity. Ben has been made to look like the completely AWESOME sweet kind guy. Just trying to see if there are some holes. I kind of started get curious when in the interview he champagne toasts Kari's departure when he was defending the hell out of her. Didn't match. He was my favorite guy in the beginning but lately with all the making out and some of his behaviors I am not so sure. Believe me just throwing stuff out there. Don't think anyone's word is gospel at all. They are probably all lying to some degree.

I had no problem with Ben participating in toast. It is not as if he brought the champagne. Blame the AfterBuzz hosts. They are the ones who so vocally disliked Kari. Ben was kind and sticking up for Kari the entire show.

Looks like Alli is friends with Kari and Tanner. They also follow one another on twitter. Ok I can't figure any of this out now. Who the hell knows what's going on. Kari, Allie, and Tanner are the last people I thought I'd see as friends. So guys I'm at a loss.

I just think it was kind of mean to toast some getting let go from the show. I know it would have hurt my feelings. I mean it could have been any of the girls and I would have felt bad for them. Maybe he just didnt know what to do. He did seem a little uncomfortable. I am so confused at this point. Don't know what to think really.

I agree that Ben seemed uncomfortable. But I think saying, "Thanks but no thanks" would have gotten him into more trouble. So he went along with it and then continued to defend her to ease his conscience. IMO
