I know a lot of members here are frustrated. The one rule we have always had is that people respect other member's opinions no matter what. We are not a Fansite. You can say something negative about a contestant here. That is allowed. The problem is if someone doesn't like what another member says they feel the need to attack that member they disagree with. Instead of just staying on topic and sharing why they have a different view point. If you feel that you can't reply to another member's post without attacking them go ahead and skip their posts. I also suggest putting members you can't get along with on your Foe's list. That way you won't have to see what they post anymore.

Please allow me to interject because I feel your frustration. I experienced moderating before and in my experience a site cannot
be both a fansite and a forum. I felt its very difficult to moderate a forum when its beginning to be more of a fansite.

I was happily lurking in this site, when most of the topics and posts that I enjoyed reading have been deleted for reasons that may be because it's really offensive to the fans not for anything else .

A group of passionate fans' threshold for what is negative and what is less than glowing adoration for a tv personality is very very low. That is a function of a fan anyway. They will not allow anybody to post 'negative' commentaries about their idols. But there's the rub, you do not know what is their 'negative' you do not know what is 'disrespectful' to their idols. Its very hard to control their reaction because they rule the roost. They have the numbers.
They know that if someone openly criticizes someone's post for being 'negative', another will pat their back, and a post about it being the best post ever will surely follow. There will be cliques forming and labeling that they are glass half full or they are not etc. This is why its not possible for this site to
be a forum, there are way too many passionate fangirls if you may who censor what is posted if its not pleasing to them. And by censoring mean
questioning the intelligence of the said poster employing many euphemisms for "I think your post is stupid"

I respect Love Me and Sanlee as moderators but I think it will behoove us all if we agree that this site is a fansite. I think this will cause less
frustration and members will not have that unspoken tension when they post something. I think the more your site grows and become
popular it will become a fansite. That's the natural order of things.

Well said. I think its not what you say but rather how u say it and come across. There r ways to say things negatively but yet in a polite way (does that make sense??)

I take the line that respect is treating and talking about others only in ways that one would wish to be treated and talked about oneself.

That being said, back to Sean and Catherine - General Discussion! They are young, adventurous and enjoying a ride that life circumstances have been good enough to offer them. If they end up as a married couple, then good for them. If they end up living a life changing experience that takes them in different directions to the next place each of them needs to be, then good for them.
Sometimes things happen for a reason, for a season or a lifetime. We will see.

I totally agree if one is posting in the fan thread. This is not. My understanding is that in this thread we are not required to fake respect to reality TV contestants who are acting on a scripted reality TV show. :Smiley:

that's right Irish. The only "must" on this board is to show respect to fellow posters by not critisizing them and their thoughts... the leads and contestants are fame game..... it's a simple as that.

Towards other member of this forum, the bolded above is meant to be observed at all times, in all threads. I will assume that is what you meant, but it is not clear to me. Here in this part of the forum, respect for the public figures of Cat and Sean is a matter of personal choice. This forum exists so that as long as we respect each other as members, we can voice whatever opinions we have of these reality TV "stars" and their escapades.

I want to thank Love_Me and San for holding fast to the notion that this is not a Fansite.
