The PI from Desiree about Chris were all about her protecting her heart more than love/passion for him.

I don't either. But, please pay attention as to why Desiree said she wanted to kiss him!  It's not due being the hottest kisser.  It's due to how far along their relationship is compared to others.  Desiree always mentions that Brooks 'brings out the best in me'.  That tells me he challenges her to do things or look at things differently.  Hardly sounds like just a 'physical/chemistry' thing that Arie and Emily had.

I think maybe they're trying to give Brooks and Des a chemistry edit to create some doubt but I don't buy it at all.  From their first date it was obvious there was physical chemistry, an emotional connection, great conversation and like minded life views.  Even the bits of talking we've been shown since still show that even if they are trying to hide it.  I think they connect on all levels and that's why it's so obvious - def not just physical but that is what CHis trying to spin based on his last blog. Grasping at straws to create doubt in my mind.  brooks is such a thoughtful, communicative guy that I don't see that edit working with him.

The fact is that other than the 1on1 date, they have not shown us all too many actual conversations with Brooks and Des. At least that`s what I think. Its still early to judge exactly if it is the chemistry edit they are going for tbh. But going by the last 2 episodes, I don`t remember meaningful convos at all. In the igloo she spoke to him for a couple of seconds and then proceeded to make out with him with a vengence. The previous episodes they cut their 1on1 time completely and didn`t even show us deleted scenes. This is what raises a small red flag for me. Both JP and Roberto and heck even Jef had small actual conversations shown onscreen or deleted scenes in the first 4 episodes.
Even Zac has had more screen time both on show and via deleted scenes. See where I`m going with this. Its a slightly wonky edit. IMO of course.

Yes. That's what I meant in that they are showing them kiss but not much else of their time together. Since Des said their relationship has gone farther, I'm sure they've had more good conversations and bonded in other ways, but they haven't shown us that.

I agree its kind of wonky (isn't it every season to a point). If Brooks is F1 as I currently believe, it may be because this is the first season the F1 got the first date as such we have never had this happen so we have never seen them edit a season like this. Saying that I do think something happens in Antigua, I just don't know what. They have to (or at least always have in the past) introduce some doubt in the F1 and right now I haven't seen that introduced.

I think you might be right, Tiggerigh. It's as simple as that. It's just the first season that the first 1v1 goes all the way. That is the only twist.

Didn't they say they could see it all along? Haven't some of the other contestants? Haven't the viewers seen it?

I did not once think Arie and Emily had anything more than kissing chemistry. Desiree and Brooks had fireworks and they weren't the kissing kind, on their first date. It was in their eyes and their communication. They bounced off each other and finished each others' sentences. You can still see it in how they interact BEFORE they kiss.

Since people insist on equating Chris' edit to Jef's and Brooks' to Arie's: I think Chris' edit is a little too obvious. Jef's was a little more hidden. Arie's was very obvious. Brooks' is a little more hidden. I think Brooks is getting the F1 edit. It's just that he's not in the usual date order, so it's brand new for everybody.

Maybe they put Brooks first based on what Des said. Maybe at first they thought it would be Chris, thus they gave Brooks the first date. But then she got to know Brooks better and the date happened and things changed.

The only thing that is different is that Brooks seems to be the only one not indicating falling in love or the L word, while others are. Just that Desiree is someone he could easily fall in love with.

Yep. All Brooks said this last episode is that he's "comfortable where (he) is in his emotional process." And that he (finally) wanted the rose. And that things "have changed."

Really, you could say he's there for the "right reasons" more than anybody else because he's not trying to beat anybody else to the punch in feeling more than he is and in getting in the forefront, and in having some sort of gimmick. He just starts talking to her when they get together. The end. All he is worried about is if he's comfortable where he is in his "emotional process."

I think it was telling what Des said about Brooks in front of the other guys when she gave Brooks the group date rose.... those complimentary words about how he makes her feel would have been challenging to hear- because you can't really try to have that effect on someone, it just has to happen- many of them may have felt "game over" at that point especially since they've said in interviews that they've noticed how she looks at him.

The ones who are still hopeful of a relationship, and I'm most thinking Drew at this point, perhaps chose (subliminally) not to catch that; or Des has been encouraging during one on one times so he can hear her say that and not come undone. The producers might have encouraged Drew to concentrate on James to distract him from seeing the relationship between Des and Brooks and keep him in "the game".

I found Chris`s VOs and PIs of his last date with Des, talking about the MUTUAL feeling from Des. I found it soo bizarre!!....what for he said that?  
and i couldnt find the same thing on Des`s dates with any of her other guys.
is it (reciprocal feeling from the lead in VO and PI) ever happened on the past seasons?

Look how Manu guys have felt their feelings for Des was reciprocated including clueless Mikey. Brooks said on his solo date that he could feel the chemistry between. That's just another way of saying he's feeling the reciprocation . Des made Chris feel comfortable and so he felt whatever he's feeling, Des must be feeling it too. Jmo


Brew, I think that Chris was just being poetic in the way he expressed those feeling.
