Re: Reality Steve -Bachelorette 9 - Thread #1
Let me rephrase and say "open to finding love". Wanting adventure, free travel, etc., isn't the same as trying to make a career out of it which many of them have tried to do. I'm really getting worried that's the case with Sean, too! :shocked!:

I think (gag) RS says it best that this show changes people. I don't think that Sean necessarily went on the show to make a career out it, but I think once he started seeing the money come in, literally in hundreds of thousands of dollars, I think it changed him.

True! However, Love_me and [/b]Sanlee[/b] 100% trust their sources.
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

He already admitted to that mistake on twitter. He always makes "tiny" mistakes like that - last season, he said that Sarah eliminated herself.

Bet Brooks, though I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than one of them. Ha, remember how Sean and his Dad had applied to be on a realtiy show, The Amazing Race? They are all looking for a way to make quick money. I just hope Des does not get cheated of love the way Em did.
I don't see that any of the Bachelorettes get cheated out of love. If it doesn't work, it wasn't meant to be. I look forward to watching Des 'go for it'. I think she has her head screwed on right and knows what she wants. This is going to be fun to watch!
Sorry, but I respectfully disagree. Maybe I am naive but I believe some men go on this show to find love...like Ryan and Roberto. Then there are guys who only care about promoting themselves like Jesse and Jef. I'd say that if the Bette picks one of the latter she gets cheated of love. Unless the Bette isn't looking for true love either. I think Des is sincere but perhaps I am wrong.
I'm in the "no one actually goes on the show solely to find love" camp. Because, seriously, with this show's track record, and how conducive the situation is NOT to building a healthy relationship? To have that as a primary purpose would be seriously naïve.
What I hope for is that they are extremely OPEN to finding love on the show, and maybe even hoping for it. And I think most of the past winners have fit that category, that they were open to falling in love with the lead even if it ended up not working out. Sure, Jef went on with hopes for self-promotion, but I do believe that in the moment with Emily he was sincere. Just, he didn't realize how fabricated the situation made his relationship.
I think most of the guys who sign up, including Ryan and Roberto, are looking for an adventure, really. A, "why not?" type of experience. In interviews, they usually end up sounding surprised that they really did fall for the lead. Many have said so outright. But if it is real, its still just as real regardless of what brought the guy there.
Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

I
Remember my favourite part of JP and Ashley's FRC when JP says that when she came I and said her husband was in the room and he thought she was crazy? And it is him. I think they all come on for a fun experience but love can happen anyways and once in a while does.
