It is possible that Lindsay and Catherine had private time with Sean at the treehouse, but they choose to only show his alone time with Desiree!

That happens all the time.

I would be sure of it... in the first place because I think Sean would make a point of evening out the time on a 3 on 1 where he likes all the girls and is expecting to do HTDs with them- and he was. The second reason is that it was a long day- even if they all separated at sunset- which I doubt- I think they would have all made the trip to the resort together.... maybe not, but I think they would have. Still, sunrise to sunset was about 11 hours.... luvstx would have a better idea of how far a drive it is from the resort to Pt. Udall, but then they were watching the sunset 11 hours later.... so 13? 15? hours on the date? Some was "together" time, but for sure there was more one on one time than is implied by what we saw.

I believe it. But think about what that means and what their criteria for "best" would be. It certainly does not match what my criteria are. Just out of curiosity, where did you see that?

I couldn't begin to tell you exactly where I read that, but I THINK that those are words that came out of Chris Harrison's mouth. I don't do twitter, but I also get that idea from twitter (posted on this board by other people) that those are the feelings that the producers and pretty much anyone associated with the show have about Sean.

By "one of the best Bachelors ever", I meant that Sean was easy to work with and was well liked and respected by everyone who worked with him during the filming of his season. This is something that seems to be repeated over and over. And I think that that is also a reflection on some of the more difficult Bachelors in past seasons as well. So, bottom line, I think that it speaks more to Sean's character and overall demeanor. And, yes, the word "best" would be subjective. But then maybe the producers really do think that Sean is (was) the best Bachelor they ever had on the show ??

I agree with everything you said regarding why they thought Sean was one of the best ever...that had been my impression as well when I read that. But now I'm also wondering if they thought that because he had a very successful conclusion to the whole journey?

I have been thinking that there may have been a break (a nap?) sometime during this day as St. Croix isn't THAT big.....26 miles long from end to end. And my St. Croix Tripadvisor friends and I have sleuthed the locations where they went and, surprise, surprise, it's not exactly as it seemed as they mapped it out.

From the Buccaneer to Point Udall is about 30 minutes.
Then they clearly did some filming along the South Shore road (camera crews were seen near there that day and a friend who lives on the South Shore road has seen her house in some background driving shots)
Then they went to the Sugar Mill. That should have taken 40 minutes from Point Udall.
Then they supposedly go to a 'cafe' that should have been 15 minutes from the Sugar Mill. But the cafe they ate in is actually on the West End near their final stop. So I think they did the tree house and horse feeding after the sugar mill. Then they went to lunch.
Then there should have been a long break during the afternoon. Maybe they just all slept on the beach at Sandy Point.

Sunrise to sunset should have been about 12 hours.

I just don't think they were actively on the date that whole time!

Well unfortunately Cat can't talk in private with Sean without the cameras there. They are always there. So she was trying to tell him who he would meet if he went to Seattle, and explain why (in the simplest manner she could) her dad wouldn't be there. Everyone including Sean would wonder where her dad is. She didn't divulge this info on their first date, but now that he's meeting her fam and possible proposal in the future, it's important that he know. She even said she didn't want to spend a lot of time talking about it,

I have a feeling this was discussed with her father at some point. Hopefully, before she went on the show, but from what he has been saying, it would indicate that he would not be surprised by this discussion. It kind of reminds me of Jillian's talking about her mom.

All she had to say was that her parents were separated, or whatever, and her father now lives in China. That story could have been saved for the Fantasy suite, if it needed to be told. It's just too intimate and private to share publicly and so easily (even if she was shaking). Think of how her family must feel right now! We all thought it was wrong for the National Enquirer to run the story because we felt it would hurt the family, this is the same to me. Like I said, I consider it to be wrong.

It's one thing when the National Enquirer puts that information out there and it's something completely different when Catherine says it herself. it's her story to tell, and not their's. And frankly, I don't think there was anything embarrassing or hurtful about what she shared. There is nothing shameful about suffering from mental illness. She has no reason to hide anything about her life, especially things that affected her growing up. We have no idea whether her father cares if she shares this with people and I would have no reason to think that he has a problem with it. For many people it helps to talk about things rather than keeping them hidden, maybe their family feels that way...how could any of us know?

We all know how the producers egg these people on to disclose everything about their life. There most likely had been encouragement from behind the scenes for Catherine to go ahead with her story about her dad. I feel like she is a victim to exploitation from these producers. She is out of her element and probably doesn't realize what the implication to her father and family might be. Let's not blame her. We know what this show can do to people.

That is truth to not be ignored. Is it any different than Ashley sharing her dad's story about being an alcoholic and homeless??

Pleasantly surprised at how MF handled Ashley's, and now Catherine's, family background. He is showing a redeeming quality of being respectful of them by including the facts without sensationalizing them (which we all know he is capable of doing). I just thought it was necessary to include this exchange between Sean and Catherine as a building up of a love story based on honesty, respect, and acceptance of the other person, including their past. If you watch the clip without the sound, you will notice Sean's tender touch as Catherine tells her story.

I checked Sean's watch when he's talking to Catherine- about 3:15 or so.... so he was having his specific one on one times on the beach after lunch/during the afternoon.... I imagine the girls got a little snooze in, but no so sure about Sean who would have been involved in "setting up" each of the "scenes"... I don't think they got a nap, but they did have the "set up for production" time at every stop.

Well sounds like they were on Sandy Point beach for a long time then as sunset would have been around 6 p.m. That's a long time to be in a location with no bathrooms and no shade (you are not allowed to put umbrellas or anything in the sand for fear of harming the nesting turtles (though somehow they got permission for that lean to thingie they put up). Guessing that they had a port a potty and and tent set up in the parking area.

They would have had to.... Sean, the girls, the producers and crew..... probably tent, food, drink - and port a potty.

I read all the time, but don't comment much! There were two huge editing clues that were so clever in this episode. They happened immediately after Sean said the words, "my wife."

The 3-on-1 date at sunset on the beach:
Sean, Des, Lindsay and Catherine were raising their glasses in a toast. Sean said "I'm more hopeful than ever that I'm going to find MY WIFE." Immediately after that, they raised their glasses, and everyone's backs were to the camera except Catherine. She was facing the camera.

When Sean explained there would be no cocktail party:
Sean had just told them Tierra had gone home. He said, "I knew she wasn't going to be MY WIFE." Immediately we see three women sitting on the sofa looking at Sean. They were Ashlee, Lindsay and Desiree.
