It was done almost documentary style, kinda. You really got to know everybody, it was more than them doing PI's about events. One thing I liked about the footage on some of the 1/1 dates was that there was lots of far away shots, with no sound, only VO's, so you know that the camera wasn't always in their face and that they did get some legit alone time to get to know each other. It was just a fresh approach to the show, and really enjoyable... especially considering how it ended. There was so much emotion in his proposal, real tears, he was so adorable :Clap:

Yes, the fact that the producer's allowed Brad Smith to let go of more girls sooner because he knew there was nothing there and he wanted to spend more time with the one's he knew he had a connection with made you think that the producer's and the lead really were making an effort to see if the premise of finding a love story could work and it was still entertaining to watch with very little drama. I am enjoying Sean's season more than I thought I would. But it is not a love story so far with four episodes down, it is just drama.

I've always thought that they started with too many girls in the first place. We know that they cast a few crazies off the bat anyway for drama anyway, so why not start with 20 then eliminate maybej 7 the first RC and then 4 or 5 the 2nd one. That would make it easier to know everybody, and face it, the group dates are too big and nothing get's accomplished in the way of getting any real quality time with any of the girls.

Nothing physical, as that could get out of hand, but what if they had a baking comp or played a game of sorts..... pin the tail on the donkey, something stupid and funny like that? things like this would add a little something to the show.... instead of listening to the girls whine about another contestant..... season after season....

I hear you NorthernViewer, and I would LOVE to see and hear the type of conversation between the lead and his F1 much like what I saw/heard between Brad and Bianka. In Bachelor Canada, we saw and heard the relation develop between Brad and Bianka. Why can't see see and hear the same with Sean???? scratch

Actually, this season of Bach has several things in common with the first Bach Can season. I think MF has modeled this season after that one to some degree, and in some instances departed from his usual MO in doing so.

We see a smart, sensible, low-key, likeable cast (including several with college degrees and professional careers); a generally likeable lead who is actively engaged in the process; a love story that is nonexistent in the EDIT of the first 3 episodes (Bianka popped up "out of nowhere" midseason, similar to Catherine); gentle-handed treatment of the romantically conservative cast member (Chantal the virgin, Selma the non-kisser - usually MF makes a mockery of this person), a humorless villain that drives or dominates the edit of most of the season; a STORYLINE in which the lead is genuinely smitten with the villiain from night 1, she remains a frontrunner for quite a while and goes deep into the competition, but the lead ultimately sees through her ways as she self-destructs late in the season (normally, MF's villain either fades before F4 or wins outright).

It makes me believe that MF was paying attention last fall.
