Episode 3 - 1/21 - Bachelor 17 - Discussion - Spoilers

I might buy that the looks between Sean and Catherine had some meaning... IF ... she got an earlier date than she did. I think the fact that she's the spoiled F1 has people seeing something that just isn't there at this point in time.

I get this but I think it could also be people trying to see what MF is trying to hide. At this point there is no way to know the truth but we have known MF to hide people to fit his narrative. I believe Sean was attracted to Catherine and perhaps even liked her at this point but his attraction was deeper with others and MF is exploiting the drama with the other women for all it is worth. I am interested in seeing their 1 on 1 and judge their relationship after that.

I agree. I haven't really seen anything. The producers have shown basically nothing of her with Sean. Except her receiving roses and doing push ups on his back.

Yes, I agree, MF has tried to hide people in the past... but they get an early date and even though they're hidden in the edit. I'm not judging the relationship that they have now, and not saying that he didn't fall in love with her.... I'm just saying that in those first few weeks, although he may have thought she was cute, she wasn't on his top 4 list, or probably not even on his top 6 list. This could in fact be a good thing for them, because, as we've seen in the past... early physical attractions can lead to the Bach choosing the wrong girl because he's thinking with the wrong head. Sean seems to have that under control and will probably choose his F1 for different reasons than "you're hot". Although I do find this season kinda boring... I will continue to watch as Sean has my interest to see how he goes about choosing his F1.

I definitely agree with this. I do wish we would get to see a bit of interaction though to be able to follow how she gets there.

For sure, but maybe they're purposely leaving out those little tidbits to get the point across that he doesn't really notice her until later. From what I've seen of her, she seems quite sweet and innocent and they'll proably be quite compatible. Could be that MF has chosen to edit Sean as the guy who can see past the physical, and can keep an open mind to the girls that he didn't have that initial attraction to. Personally, I fidn that quite refreshing to the usual sl's that the leads follow, not by script, but by human nature. He's been billed as the "perfect guy" and honestly, if he can get past his initial attractions to truly find the woman that's he can have a lasting relationship with... I'll buy into the perfect part!

I kinda agree with you all about her maybe not being in his top 4 at this time,however I don't think that Leslie ( I think is her name ) that's gets the Pretty woman date next week was in his top 4 either..He's barely even spoken to her. I still think they are having to hide Catherine and Sean because of it being so noticeable, but as we all know, I've been wrong before. ..

Going by past seasons, every week the 1/1 dates go to one person her's interested in and one he likes but will never be a contender. Going by the dates the last 2 weeks, I'd say that Leslie (kissing date of shared date with teenagers) and Desiree were the ones he was interested in. And Sarah and Ashlee were the ones that he was so/so about. Next weeks dates, Selma is the one that interests him the most. His opinion obviously changes over the weeks, but I'd say that his top 4 out of the gate was Des, Leslie, Selma and Tierra (biggest mystery for me this season is why Tierra didn't get an early date???)

I agree with whoever said they are hiding Cat due to the spoilers. I think the last few seasons leaks must have played a part in the editing room. Realistically i dont think it matters when he realized she was the one and when they decide to show it. It probably matters to her but not to america. All TPTB care about is that they have themself a winner and that they figured out a way in which to best use the footage they shot to bring the viewer through a roller coaster season. They don't ever show a clear cut winner that I can recall. They want the viewer holding their breath all the way up through the FRC. Until then they challenge us viewers to a game of " who will win his heart". They don't have to play fair and work backwards from the winner especially since the winner is already out early every season. So now they tend to hide until the last pos second.

This season I'm not invested in any of the players so it will be fun to just analyze the edit. Thank goodness for that considering I'm still not over Arie's departure and rumored FSgate. I'm just glad he and 1F ( who has really really grown on me) at least found each other and are still going strong! #bachsuccess #24601 #freearie #shoutouttoteamtinfoil

Oh, OK thanks so much for explaining this to me. I've often wondered how they go about choosing who goes on which dates. I'm right there with you wondering why the late date for Tierra. Also, I agree with your top 4, but in his blog he said he was attracted to AshLee as soon as she got out of the limo.

I'm liking this season coz it's so up in the air and isn't as black and white as it was with Ben. I think about everybody kinda knew he was choosing Court coz most times he acted like he didn't even know any other women were there LOL Sean is totally different in that we can see that he's attracted to multiple women.. It's like a great mystery novel that makes you want to skip to the end and read what happens. : )

hi. new here. here goes...

what baffles me is if there's not much going on between sean and catherine at the outset, then why bother to hide it at all. & from my end, i can see the effort to do so. we didn't have a glimpse of their one on one (ice cream tasting) in the first episode. & in the 2nd, the only glimpse we've had of catherine during her shoot with sean was of her session thereafter walking away. with catherine being the f1, wouldn't it have been in line with their love story if we get to hear their convo albeit small talk in every episode, which will at least clue in the unspoiled audience the progress in the relationship & the spark that was there that made sean keep catherine.

thats it. i'm not even sure what i'm talking about here, relatively 'new' in following the bachelor franchise.
