Litta123 wrote:^^notarose, first I need to know a few things -- do you have a computer that you upload pictures from your iPad to or do you only have the iPad? Do you know how to upload pictures to your computer? Is your computer a Mac?

I have posted a pic or two from my iPad to this site, but it is a royal pain in the rear (unless I'm doing it the hard way which wouldn't surprise me at all)...so let me know which way you need an explanation for. Meaning, do you need an explanation from iPad to this site or an explanation from iPad to computer to this site?

If it's the former, I will need to play with the process myself to make sure I have all the steps. Let me know...and then I'll get to work on typing up an explanation.

Btw, if you want the explanation from a windows based computer, someone else will need to provide those steps. I only know from a Mac.

ETA: Mods, if I am overstepping here, let me know. I can take this conversation to a PM if you prefer.

:WAVEY: Ipad to this site - how to embed in a post from photo app
Desktop is also MAC however I'm mostly on ipad so if there is a way around the need to right-click to embed (which can't be done from an ipad, at least my attempts haven't worked) then I would like to capture and embed. Note: a few sites do have URL pop-up boxes so that works like a charm.

PM or post here. I think there may be other ipad users so here could be beneficial to them as well.

Thank you  Smiley

^^I will need to play around with it to see if I can come up with a better way than going through my photobucket account via uploading to my computer. To be continued...

Post by Litta123 Thu May 08, 2014 4:51 pm

I searched around the internet and it looks like the best consensus for posting a pic from an iPad (iPhone) to a forum is to use a hosting site. Don't worry the hosting site I'm going to suggest is free. I've been using this site for years to post on forums so I don't think there's a need to worry about it. Just don't upload your personal pics...or if you do, turn your settings to private. FYI, I didn't previously have this app on my iPad either. I didn't even think to look for it. It's going to make my life so much easier as well...so I'm glad you asked for help as I learned something myself!  Hugesmile  Btw, I apologize in advance for all the big pics in this post. I thought pics would help because otherwise it might be hard to follow.

Okay, here we go...and good luck! It's really not that hard...

GA, I'm happy to do it. I'm a retired educator and explaining procedures is second nature to me.

^^^ was a test post to learn to move SCs from one thread to another.

I hit reply on the post, copied the image string and then came here and used the Insert image icon, pasted the [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] tags into the post and hit insert.

While the image seems to have appeared, I also see the tags itself appearing.

When you use the Insert image, you don't need to paste the tags, it does it for you. You just paste it, click insert, I preview first, hit send!
