The Bachelor 17 - Speculation/Spoilers - Discussion

As an Aside: Has anyone else noticed that beyond Montana, there is absolutely no shot of Lindsay in all of the previews released so far? ( I am not counting the shadowy ones we here assume is Lindsay). If not for the spoilers and other things we have noticed, post-filming, it would be difficult to conclude that she makes it further than that.

I know the focus has been on Catherine been hidden but from my POV, all F3 are hidden. The choppy editing this season is so weird and unsatisfying, especially for those of us who have been "spoiled." You endure a whole hour of unmet expectations and thereafter have to write your own version of the love story in your head!

Actually, since there are scenes of Lindsay (even though in shadow) in Thailand (it's pretty obvious since she is even shorter than Catherine), they are actually showing all of the F3 in Thailand- and it seems to me they often keep one of the F3 underwraps until a little later when they run the "later this season" preview. Even less of Catherine's one on one is shown than Lindsay's- the unspoiled have got to be scratching their heads about how either of those two end up in the "beachy" locations- though we got a sense of Lindsay this week. I hope we can see it with Catherine this week.

The theme of this season seems to be "The Rise and Fall of Tierra"- I think we'll get a love story- eventually- but for now it's the subplot.

I think the problem is that from the back of the head Lindsay and Ashlee look very similar.

Remember during Ashley's season it was all about Bentley until he went home. So it seems with Tierra. I really am excited to see how the CAT story develops, even if it's partially hidden.

Do we know what kind of date Lindsay gets in Thailand?

I don't know anything about Lindsay's Thailand date (except we see Sean and Lindsay in the sunset on a beach.... but that could also be a LCD.

However, it just occurred to me that we'll have a little extra fun when that 2 on 1 date card is read..... after the AshLee/Selma little joke..... I wonder who's going to get to read that card. Lindsay, I guess- the rest will be on the group date. On the other hand, everyone on the group date will know who's getting it when those two aren't on it. HMMM.

However, Bentley left in Epi 3 (when JP had his first date). Tierra lasts until Episode 7! Catherine stays invisible until Episode 6 and her first 1-1. Personally, I don't get it and don't like it. We're heading into Episode 4 and we have no clue who Catherine really is.

I haven't read the spoilers in detail. Can anyone fill me in quickly on what happens to Leslie/Desiree/Sean connections that we have been privy to so far. He really likes these two girls IMO. It's obvious also in the dates he chose for them. I think he likes Catherine at this point but she definitely hasn't stepped up her romantic side just yet. I think that works for Sean as time goes on though. He likes to be the chaser and I think he brings that out in Catherine and he's digging it. She's different, a doll and from what I've read very bright. I do think something happens though with Leslie to push her out of the F4. I'm really curious to see what it is. As far as Tierra goes, I think Sean found her very attractive but I can see reservation in his eyes the more time he spends with her. I think he knows pretty early she's not the one.

I think this is gonna be one of Lindsay's big downfalls, as she sure isn't letting Sean do the chasing thus far. However I don't think any of us knows for sure, so far, what pushes any of them out of the F4.

LoveDovez, I think you are right, Lindsay is too forward for Sean's liking. I also think this is why Catherine seems to be "hidden". IMO, she is sitting back and letting Sean come to her. She has made some moves, passing the note to Sean for example, that lets him know that she's intererested. I could also see her sneaking behind a column to steal some 1:1 time with Sean; very covert subtle moves. In comparision, she would seem "hidden" while the other girls are being very out there and obvious. All Sean has to do is sit there and the girls just come to him ... all but 1 who (per her intro video) likes to hide behind trees and play peek-a-boo for him to find her.

I keep thinking back to the promo, in the ice castle, when Catherine is telling him it's been perfect. We don't know what she's referring to, of course, but I like to think it's the experience in total, including her interactions with him. In Ep 2 (I think it was) he does say (at the RC cocktail party) that he wants to get to know her more. I don't believe that they haven't made decent use of the small amount of time available- enough to whet the appetite for the next encounter. Sean does like to be the pursuer- which will probably be the demise of several girls. I don't think he sees Tierra's manipulation, even this week, because his tweet after watching Ep 4 was one word....WOW. We know it will have been edited to make it even more dramatic, but Sean's take on the Bachelor/ette is that with the amount of film there is, you real character will show through- magnified perhaps- but it's still you.

Thanks for your thoughts jcrbil-- I agree especially with the bolded. I think that her interaction with Sean is such a stark contrast in the interactions with Sean and the other girls. In fact, that might be what TPTB are trying to hide; not their relationship per se, but the fact that their interactions are more covert, hide and seek with Sean doing the chasing.
