During Jake's season, Jill and Ed made an appearance, and I doubt they had much of a friendship with fake Jake, so it's not so unlikely that MF would have Arie help "kick off" Sean's season. He knew that the fans were pretty evenly split between Sean and Arie, so I'm sure he thinks it will help ratings to have both on the first episode. I imagine if Arie had ended up being the lead, Sean would have made a guest appearance on his premiere as well.

And yeah, the "shirtless" tweet definitely gave it away that Sean's the Bachelor. Did anyone NOT think his abs were going to be featured prominently all season? And did we even see Arie shirtless once during Emily's season? Sean's the one with "the body", not Arie, as far as they're concerned.

Let's have a refresher course in knowledge this morning. Did you all forget this announcement??? It wasn't put out by some bogus tabloid, it was put out by the PR group representing Arie. This is nothing but an ABC scam! Chris Harrison is going along with the scam because his job depends on it. Arie is going along with it because ABC has a noose around his neck for a year. Notice Arie did not say anything about The Bachelor or ABC in his tweet with the photo with Chris.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. Chooses Racing Over Romance

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- XYQ, Inc. announced today that professional race car driver, "The Bachelorette" finalist and NBC Sports analyst Arie Luyendyk Jr. WILL NOT participate in ABC's hit reality show "The Bachelor" this season in order to resume his career on the race track.

Sean's the one with "the body", not Arie, as far as they're concerned.

Ha. Personally, I dont find the beefcake attractive at all. The 6 or 8 packs indicate vanity to me. I much prefer an athletic lean body as opposed to a fitness model's body. Poor Sean's going to have a hot tub on every date. Picnic in the forest? Redwood hottub further down the trail.
Mountain climbing in Patagonia? hottub at the summit.
Kayaking in a lake? Hottub on floating platform .

They did it with Brad, they did it with Jake, and they'll do it with Sean for sure. They wouldn't have done so with Arie, because he doesn't have those "goods" to sell. Neither did Ben.

Chris harrisons tweet is a lil confusing! I don't think he meant we as in him and arie starting the new season but just that he was hanging with him before the new season starts.

Arie reminds me more of Ian McKee (physically) than the beefcake guys. Ian. Sigh. I remember a photo of him playing soccer, shirtless. Ahem.
