I guess the season's begun for me. Merry Christmas.
Kasha...love me some Seannie....but this is hilarious! Guess I'll be one in a few cheering for him!
Kasha definitely has a way with words!
Sean ... eh. Maybe even ick, I just never liked the guy.
It could be that I'm no longer a Bach fan, just a Bachette fan. If I skip Sean, it will be 2 Bach's in a row. And my favorite couples are Jash and Jem, both from Bachette.
OMG could you imagine a fleet of electric cars doing something like Indy or NASCAR; it would be a hoot, and at least the fossil fuel and pollution wouldn't be an issue, at least on the racetrack, but then again, where would the recharge come from, plug it into your wall socket and the chances are it's taking either fossil or nuclear fuel to recharge the batteries.
Then again, we should lobby for electric cars that have solar panels on the top, sorry a little OTT. :cutesmile!:
Indy Cars run on an ethanol based fuel that contains only about 5% fossil fuel. I believe NASCAR will be going to this fuel soon as well, if they haven't already. They still pollute but they don't burn more than just a small amount of fossil fuel.

I also agree that Arie turned them down. The evidence is clear in the timing. On Aug.2, Fleiss tweeted his "drumroll". There is no reason in the world that a contract could not have been signed and sealed in late July with either Sean or Roberto. There would have been no need for any delay whatsoever. But Fleiss was still courting Arie and expecting Arie to do it. That's why he was invited to the Harold Pump charity gala in LA on
August 10.
Arie's contract would have been more difficult to negotiate than Sean's or Roberto's because of his already existing contracts with NBC and IndyCar. On August 10 he tweeted that he had good news professionally and personally. I think before the ABC contract was sealed and delivered, Arie knew that he found a sponsor. He must have been ecstatic. But there was no way to work out the timing of both racing and being the Bachelor. I imagine they tried to make it happen. Fleiss alluded to that in his "Not as simple as you might think " comment.
There is even more evidence of this happening from BlondieGal. She had information from 2 of her (amazing) sources that it was Arie, but then I guess something happened and the negotiations fell through at the last minute.
Arie made his choice and turned them down. Fleiss has to now go with someone else.

I'm not happy to hear that it won't be Arie. Being a Jef fan myself, I felt if Jef and him were good friends, he must be pretty cool.
Also, I loved how the two of them dealt with the fact that Emily chose Jef (even after Arie went to Charlotte to speak to her). Both guys seem very genuine, honest and not (I hate to say this, but I will) super religious.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Sean being strong in his faith, but that's not really what I want to see on a Romantic-find-the-love-of-my-life fantasy show.
I think Roberto would be a better choice than Sean. He has depth and a lot of Bachelorette relationship experience.
Whomever Mike Fleiss choses, I'm sure I will be watching and get all caught up in the romance...again!
Take care all.

Sad it's not Arie, but still excited for Sean. He's way more appealing to me and I think will be to the girls than any recent Bachelor. I hope it was the dynamic between he and Emily that was boring and not Sean himself. Usually the lead's personality is so different from their original season so hoping he'll be more fun and lively this time but still a respectful, good guy. First time I've looked forward to a Bachelor in a long time.

Just wanted to say that I also really liked Sean's family - esp. his sister....

Appearance-wise I agree that Sean is much better than many of the past few leads but we didn't get to see much personality. Whether it was because he was being cautious or whether that is his personality I don't know. I do know that the tweets I have seen him send show a better sense of humour than we saw during the season but there's no way of telling if that is spontanious or not. If it's that he was being cautious - wise move on his part, however an entire season of that would be, imo, boring.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

Maybe the whole girlfriend thing was a cover, so it would appear like RS is wrong for awhile?
Why would they let Arie announce officially through his PR firm he isn't doing it prior to the TBPT annoucement? Kinda takes the wind out of their sails?
I asked earlier today about how much control the show retained over the guys with regard to PR and releases but didn't see a reply. However things went down, I say kudos to Arie for the PR play and managing the messaging that he wanted to put forth.
I think it's possible that Arie turned them down, but I also think it's possible that after stringing him along, the producers finally told him he was out of contention (perhaps too much negotiating to fit his racing commitments in with their filming/promotion schedule), and in order to save face a bit, agreed that he could publicly announce his intentions to go back to racing now, before the new Bachelor is revealed. This also serves to give the Arie supporters who were hoping he would be the lead, a heads up and chance to both "get over it" before they make the official announcement, and to hopefully "warm up" to the other possibles for lead.

IA that Arie was the guy until very recently. I do think he wanted it but perhaps he was convinced otherwise by the company he's working with. I'm thinking he originally thought he could do both given his tweet about good news for his career and personally. Too bad it couldn't have worked out but at least I'm not invested in the season like I would have been.
Roberto would be a surprise and probably boring but I think I like him better. Not sure given his vacation with the Survivor gal.
Sean is nice looking but I'm not and never have been a fan of the body builders. I also have trouble with his friendship with Jeremy who I can't stand. I'm trying to ignore his tweet about Emily O but have a feeling there was no love lost on either side & I'm firmly in her camp. There's also the boring part to worry about and the hope that no matter who it is, the dates will be fun unlike the snoozefests last season.
