Re: The Bachelor 17 - Speculation/Spoilers - Discussion
I am retired from the insurance industry so I understand the lingo. I have not read this whole thread, but Roberto Martinez is an agent for Farmers Insurance. This phrase is lifted from his profile on the Farmers Insurance website: Your Local Agent for Auto Insurance, Life & More! Basically, it is the same position he held when he was an agent for State Farm. He switched companies but the job is the same: he sells insurance. I don't believe he could any more be Sean's boss than I could. JMHO

The first thought that would enter every gold digger's, oops contestant's, head would be loser (not to mention the audience). I suspect they fronted him money to open his new business (and move to his new apartment) so he can be called a business owner/entrepenuer. Let's just see how he is introduced. I'll be howling with laughter when they lie about it.
I'm sure they felt like they could get away with it. I mean, they had the opportunity to get a race car driver, which is much sexier sounding, and they didn't choose him, for whatever reason. I'm personally not a fan of his, but I think Sean's popularity is undeniable, from his Twitter followers, reaction at ATFR, etc. I do believe that they originally had wanted Roberto badly, and he also was just an insurance salesman.
Honestly, I think that they could be put a 40 year old, average looking, average salary earning guy out there, and once they label him as the "prize", 25 women will fight to the death for his love and attention. We've heard the F1 from Jason's season say that she thought he was not that funny and not cute at all, yet she said and did everything to make him pick her. I believe this season will be no different. And, I do think that the majority of women do find a 6'1, muscular, dimpled guy with faith a "catch". He's not my type AT ALL, but I get the appeal.
The girls will go crazy over him!!
^^^ Me agree...he has a significant fan base! Besides the 'cyborg' body...Sean has a subdued humility and self-confidence that's very appealing, at least to me!

According to the agency Sean works at, he's an Insurance Account Representative and it's his bil (his boss) who's the agent. Maybe you can explain the difference. The reason I think Roberto could technically be Sean's boss is that he owns his own office just like Sean's bil but not sure that matters much since they're both in insurance.

OK. Roberto is an agent. He rents his office and maybe owns his furniture. He is a representative for Farmer's -- in other words he is tied to Farmers by contract to sell their products. He has employees in his office to assist him; they are probably also licensed.
Since Sean's BIL is a State Farm agent he is tied to them by contract. Sean is an account representative; he is employed by his BIL. By State Farm rules, he must be fully licensed by the state and by State Farm to quote rates, explain coverages and bind coverage. He also can sell something to a customer. In other words, he has the same licenses as his BIL but he is not an agent in the true sense of the word.
Hope this makes sense.

So, doesn't that mean that Sean's BIL and Roberto have the same exact job? And, since Sean works for his BIL, isn't his BIL technically his "boss"?
(I'm truly asking because I don't know this business, not being sarcastic or anything).

An account representative is the same as a customer service representative. CSR's do most of the paperwork, but they can't sell insurance. They can only work for a licensed broker or licensed agent. My brother owns an insurance agency. He has several agents, and several account reps ... for commercial lines, personal lines, life, bonds, etc.
Sean is an account representative, and his BIL, the agent, is his boss.

So, then Roberto COULD technically be his boss, since Roberto is an agent and Sean is a CSR?
(Again, this really doesn't matter to me and I don't think any less/more of Sean because of this, but I was just interested in the conversation)

I WISH that they would cast Kacie B. again!
And if so, that the other ladies would be nice to her.
I think that Kacie B. would be perfect for Sean!
But if she is not cast, I hope that the producers keep her in mind for the lead later for The Bachelorette.
While Kacie B seems like a sweet girl and her faith is important to her, I can't see them being a good match. She has suffered from an eating disorder and Sean is a fitness fanatic. While she seems fine now, being with Sean could trigger her again. Heck even a super model might have trouble dealing with a guy who is built like Sean. LOL

Also, I feel like Sean's type (from his ex-girlfriend and Emily) seems to be blondes. But hey, maybe she'll pull a Shawntel!

Per glassdoor.com, state farm account representatives make on average, a little less than 35k.
He can probably afford his Dallas condo because he doesn't make a whole lot of money; there are cities that accommodate income. Or, it could be the opposite where his family comes from money and he made a big down payment on it.
If this is what Sean really does, then TPTB will be going the Jason/Matt - fantasy career route.

Re: The Bachelor 17 - Speculation/Spoilers - Discussion
Ok... super confused why we're discussing Sean's job title. Who cares what he does! His job doesn't define him or make his personality sway one way or another. And honestly? If these girls that are vying for his heart get caught up on job titles, they aren't the kind of girls you take home to the fambam anyway. My husband worked at a bowling alley when we got married. It paid the bills. Never defined him. I managed a pizza place. Again, it paid the bills. Didn't define me. I'm much more than my job title portrays me to be. As I think we all are.
Also. My husbands "type" was stick thin brunettes. He claimed that up until the day we started dating. He'll still admit to being more attracted to brunettes. However, I am a natural blonde, who highlights my hair to make it blonder. I'm also athletic and have that hourglass shape. He fell madly in love with me, regardless of the fact that I didn't meet his typical "type". So, I don't put much stock into the fact that Sean likes blondes. If theres a brunette, or even a redhead, there that blows him away, I can guarantee that will become his new "type".
