My gut says they would be smart to choose Roberto if he will have them. People really liked him form Ali's season, it shuts down the whole "no minority" thing and he seems to be very intelligent as well as a sexy, hot guy!

Whether Sean is dull or that was just his edit, unfortunately a lot of people are turned off at the prospect of him being the bach and will not even be interested enough to tune in to see if he can pull it off.

They really need to stick to big personalities for the lead. JMHO

CHRIS HARRISON: I can assure you Michael Stagliano will not be the Bachelor. He was never up for it. But you do have the usual suspects that we’ve been talking about all along. Obviously Arie and Sean [from Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette] are both frontrunners. They have been since we started this discussion, and they probably still are in the mix. [Ed. note: Arie Luyendyk, Jr., tweeted Aug. 31 that he would not be the next Bachelor.] At this point, it goes pretty far up the food chain, up to Paul Lee, the president of ABC. We go in and make presentations. A lot goes into it that people don’t know as far as making that final decision and who makes the best television. At the end of that day, that what we’re doing — we’re creating a show — and we want someone very sincere. We’ve been doing this for over a decade, and we know what works, and we know what’s going to make good television. It’s not such an easy [choice], like, “Oh, he’s cute, that’d be good.” We do take into consideration what the fans want and who they like, but at the same time we also have to make a television show and know what works. It’s not always the same exact thing.

can't remember where I heard it, but Meet and Greet is Sept 15.

as to annoucing to potentially get the bad taste out of the viewers mouths - it won't start airing til January so there's plenty of time whether they announce it today, this week or the day before the M&G. I don't know of other boards that sleuth, but the only folks who really care RIGHT NOW about who it is are the sluethers or rabid fans who just wanna know.

If filming (as in Meat and Geek) truly begins in the next week-10 days, I would think The Machine would come out and release who TB is rather than have someone spoil the info for them by running into filming crew and staff on dates, promos etc and then taking photos or tweets released to the public. The Machine likes to get the first word out.
