This is getting weirder and weirder. Fleiss announces publicly that he's throwing a BP finale party in Malibu. Then he's just having Millsy and Chris H. for dinner. And they dont announce the Bachelor on the BP finale? What the heck is the problem? How difficult would it be to have a contract all signed and sealed with Sean? I dont get it at all. I guess the Fleiss tweets that I assumed were just blowing hot air, were really true. They are having a hard time with something. I just cannot imagine what it is. Paul Lee of ABC wants one guy and Fleiss wants a different guy? Who's going to blink first?

I don't even know who else is in it other than Sean. I'm thinking they don't really want him all that much. It kind of reminds me of when Jake was picked although Sean's a much better choice than he was.

I'm to the point now I don't care anymore. Just announce already. no idea

Can anybody pls tell me what was really go down before Jake picked as TB? I thought Kiptyn was more fan's fav than him, but why was Kiptyn going on BP instead of TB? ..#PrettyPlsLetMeKnow....TIA!!

They honestly just need to announce who it is already. This whole dance about who it is, when they are deciding, etc. has gotten really old.

I agree that they should just announce.. They're stringing us along. BTW.. what's on ABC next Monday since Dancing doesn't begin for two weeks?

I just don't believe that they have not already gotten someone lined up to be the next Bachelor - signed and ready to go. This strategy that Fleiss is taking by stringing everyone along is about to blow up in his face.

I totally agree - they need to give the fans the information so that those who were hoping it would be someone else can get over their disappointment and everyone can wrap their heads around who it is and either jump on board the 'we love him' bandwagon or decide to just watch for the fun of it (or not). If it's someone people don't like and they leave it too late to announce it then those people may decide to not watch whereas if they give them time to adjust to it then they may decide to just watch for the fun.

With BP flopping to an all time low ratings season along with the political conventions, fall TV programming promotions, football, etc, hogging the PR/social media space - waiting to announce the TB until DWTS makes sense. Especially since DWTS should have a bit of a lift from an upcoming All-Stars season. It's a much bigger platform than BP for the announcement as well as getting many more social mentions on Twitter and Facebook.

With the Bachelor franchise ratings lower across the board (TB, Blette and BP), I imagine some fine tuning of the show, its PR and promotions is taking place. While the show is cheap to produce and is mostly "fill the void" type of programming now, they have to be disappointed with how the last run of all three of the shows have performed.

It was their chose of principal that killed their ratings. Ben was a flop and Emily wasn't for everyone. Hold the tomatoes but I always thought she came across as fake. There are others that love her, I am just not one of them.

My gut says they would be smart to choose Roberto if he will have them. People really liked him form Ali's season, it shuts down the whole "no minority" thing and he seems to be very intelligent as well as a sexy, hot guy!

Whether Sean is dull or that was just his edit, unfortunately a lot of people are turned off at the prospect of him being the bach and will not even be interested enough to tune in to see if he can pull it off.

They really need to stick to big personalities for the lead. JMHO

Obviously Arie and Sean [from Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette] are both frontrunners. They have been since we started this discussion, and they probably still are in the mix. [Ed. note: Arie Luyendyk, Jr., tweeted Aug. 31 that he would not be the next Bachelor.] At this point, it goes pretty far up the food chain, up to Paul Lee, the president of ABC. We’ve been doing this for over a decade, and we know what works, and we know what’s going to make good television. It’s not such an easy [choice], like, “Oh, he’s cute, that’d be good.” We do take into consideration what the fans want and who they like, but at the same time we also have to make a television show and know what works.
