Ben was already filming promos by the third week of August. Roberto and Sean werent clear cut , first choices. Yet one of them will get the gig. It could still be a good season. Who knows, it could even be great. But that doesnt mean that the guy was first choice.
Well, from tweets it appears MF and Elan have been flying all over the place lately. Is it possible that they have filmed some promos and nobody caught wind of them? Or, is it possible the season is going to be pushed back for some reason? Who is it that manages to get/find the filming schedule? I would think that if the M&G were going to be filmed Sept. 20th (as I once saw reported) they would have a schedule by now as well as a crew signed to contracts and many of the 'ettes would have been found already.

He's got the dream of a lifetime in front of him -to pursue his passion and get back in the race car. This isnt just some nice promotion at work. He's battled for years for this opportunity. Congrats Arie!

I get that, but it would've only gotten better with more exposure as the lead. I just can't see his short stint with Em doing THAT much for his career.
Look at what happened to Chris L's career just be doing a short stint on Ali's season.
I actually think not being the lead is better for any contestant.

Very good point, Anders. Chris also found the girl without being TB.
I do believe Arie wanted to do the show up until very recently. I'm wondering if it was someone in the racing world that talked him (agent, sponsors)out of it plus here may have been a scheduling conflict as Tigertiz has pointed out.

I hope someone with great sense did talk him out of it, that is if he didnt' realize on his own that doing the show could potentially harm his reputation. He came out of the show looking great - created a lot of positive interest and buzz - why mess with that??
get out while the getting is good!!
Franky, I do judge people harshy for being repeat offenders --- if they're willing to put themselves through that mess, knowing full well what the machine is capable of, then I have zero sympathy for the wrath they take from it.

Agree with all but especially the bolded. For people going on the show for the first time they probably think they'll be able to handle themselves and not get a bad edit - then they see how the voice overs, cut-in scenes, etc. work and if they decide to do it again - their funeral!! Now, do some people come out looking good? Of course but they have now seen first hand what the show is capable of.

Whether Arie "wanted" to be TB may have been taken completely out of his hands if he wanted to even consider returning to Indy car racing post show.
There is BIG BUCKS in racing and his team owner could very well have put the KABOSH to doing the show. Also, if they had potential sponsorships either in the works or confirmed, said sponsors could have made it a condition that they in no way wanted to be linked to The Bachelor.
I don't think this was something that was completely Arie's decision b/c if it was and TPTB offered it to him, he would be doing it.

isn't that horse already out of the barn by doing Em's season....??? If they endorsed or at least didnt oppose his appearance the first time, why interfere now?

Because THIS time he'd be the lead and interacting with alot more women and who knows what he'd look like with editing.
Secondly. my understanding is that this is a brand new, fairly well known and respected sponsor. New sponsors, new money, new rules.
The owners need sponsorship to pay the bills so sponsors have just about all the say in something like this.

maybe so -- but as with the rest of us - all speculation.

that is hilarious......on THIS show....he'd be better off staying away and networking locally. I'm sure there are plenty of eligible, non-crazy, beautiful, noncrazy, intelligent, non crazy, ladies in his own or nearby community....oh, and did I say non-crazy.....
