I can only speak for me, but I don't think she's disliked so much as Roberto has an amazing fan base. When they didn't work out I think people tended to speculate that Ali was the one with the issues (for the most part). These 2 seemed like one of the FEW couples that would truly make it to the altar.

As for Sean, as with all these contestants we as fans cannot truly speculate how they are IRL. Sean's edit and how he came across WAS very...'safe' (translation = stale). We've seen Roberto's interactions in and outside of the show and he appears to have WAY more personality. Could be Sean's edit, could be how he truly comes across but at the end of the day I would hope that TPTB won't gamble on having another stale lead - like Ben....Buuuut, you never know. Fleiss loves his puppets.

I think a problem that fans had was that she just became OBSESSED with becoming famous. And, the second that she and Roberto broke up, she sold the story to the tabloids. She just seems like she has changed from the girl she was during Jake's season(although, maybe she just seemed sweet and sincere in comparison to Vienna, haha). I've always just had a lot of respect for Roberto, as he never took advantage of his celebrity and only really took part in events, when they were related to charity. I think a lot of people see him as one of the few nice guys in the franchise, as NO ONE has said a bad thing about him (I can only think of a few other people like that like Chris L, Michael S, etc) and really seemed to want to find love and settle down.

LOL I never saw her as sweet and sincere during Jake's season. I thought she was a mean girl and didn't think she had any interest in settling down and getting married any time soon, so I wasn't happy when she was picked as the lead and I skipped her season. I ended up liking Roberto post-season despite being unable to warm up to her. I never in a million years thought they'd get married so I figured it was only a matter of time before he was free anyway. To me she's always been exactly the same, wasn't a fan then and not a fan now.

I think Roberto would make a great lead but I'm hoping he doesn't do it because I don't trust Fleiss and don't want to see him chewed up and spit out by the tabloids. :Frown:

As the rumor mill churns! Things are looking better and better for Team Sean — according to this report, at least. 

On August 31, Arie Luyendyk, Jr. announced he had chosen racing over romance, essentially taking his name out of any prospective running to be the Season 17 Bachelor. That led us to believe the strongest remaining candidates were Sean Lowe, also of The Bachelorette Season 8, and Roberto Martinez, The Bachelorette 6 "winner" whose name has been in the mix for months.

Well not so fast, says Ryan Seacrest and his radio show sources. Weirdly enough, Ryan's new report, posted September 4, takes Hottie Dimples out of the running (sob!) but keeps Arie on the list, along with Sean and a third unnamed option, which scares us more than anything. (No alarms and no surprises, please!)

Here’s Ryan’s Bachelor update:

"First we know it will definitely not be Roberto from Ali Fedotowsky's season of The Bachelorette, as it's been rumored before. I can reveal that they've narrowed it down to three options. There are three finalists. The man in charge of dishing out the highly coveted roses will either be Arie or Sean, who finished second and third respectively on the last Bachelorette, or they may go back to how they used to choose, it could be an unknown third guy. Either way the president of ABC himself will be involved in the decision."

Luyendyk says his first priority has always been racing.
