DW, they really seemed to want Ames at Ashley's MTA until Ben was f2 and heartbroken.

I may have not been the most romantic chick when I was dating, but I find that exchange to be extremely flirty

Me, too and she's not the only one being flirty. Everyone who meets him has kind words to say about how nice and humble he is in real life. I know the show will probably tarnish that image but until it does, I'm not going to paint him in a negative light.

Perhaps the issue was that Sean had a few stipulations of his own that stalled negotiations and opened the door for others to join the conversation for the gig. He was confirmed rather early on by BG as the early choice but has seemed reluctant to me.

In any case, there's a lot of verifiable data out there with regards to his popularity outside of this board that makes him a very viable candidate for the viewing audience. His popularity since the show ended hasn't really fallen off either so I don't think his Tweets joking with friends and fellow TB folks are turning away fans.

I got the thread and have read and bookmarked it!
Kacie is an outstanding young woman and could be your sister, best friend, or even your daughter.
She is so nice and down-to-earth, and even though she is so beautiful, she is no threat to other women.
They just plain like her (as I do).
Kacie has a genuine beauty and a killer smile, has common sense, and is wholesome and sweet.
I think that any man would love to have her for a life partner and wife.

And (I don't want to go off-subject here) - little Ricki is certainly the icing on the cake as far as Emily is concerned. There, my strong maternal feelings come into play.

Totally w/you about Kacie, too. I didn't watch Ben's season at all, but loved her just from reading all the posters here. I was very disappointed when she wasn't the B'ette... but maybe in the future! Tho hopefully she'll meet someone soon......

Good points. And why does anyone think that the Bachelor announcement is delayed? Last year it may have been leaked that Ben was Bachelor by US Weekly and RS but ABC only officially announced Ben as Bachelor on Sept. 6th.

I agree! I wish we would have seen more of this cheeky side of him that we have seen on twitter since season 8 has aired. He might have been more appealing to me on the show (like that is really important, his appeal to me, that is ) If he is the bach, I hope he is able to show this side of him!!!

I think any of the top 3 contenders (Roberto, Sean or Arie) would have made great Bachelors. yumyum.....totally agree with everything you just said. I definitely enjoy The Bachelorette more than The Bachelor because I like you think the women who are The Bachelorette take it more seriously and it's not all about "who's the hottest"......they dig a little deeper for some substance and a connection. I just don't understand why people don't just embrace the guy that is picked and let it go. What's all the "fussing" about? You can still like Arie and like the other two also. I liked all of Emily's final 3 guys I just came down to who was best for Emily and it was Jef......not Arie......not Sean.

Great post betsyeas! I will support whoever is the next Bachelor. All the serious candidates are upstanding guys who will make good TV.

I agree totally! While I personally would pick Arie over Sean hands down, Sean has a very wide fan base and a seemingly squeaky clean past. He's the Republican candidate for bachelor :Smiley: and appeals to all of those "return to family values" viewers.

I also agree its all about the bachelorettes they recruit. I don't mind crazy girls but I don't like manipulative and mean ones. It was just too much Courtney and after those two skinny dipped together, may as well have ended the season right then & there.

Just as political candidates need vetting so too do the Bachelor leads. There are way too many tabloids, bloggers and zealous fans of other leads who would put Arie's life under a microscope and look for any opportunity to build a SHOCKING & negative story out of it. I am GUESSING that Arie has had a more adventurous past than Sean (and possibly Roberto) as any gorgeous & outgoing guy on the racing circuit would have. I don't want to know all the gory details esp since they'll be blown way out of proportion. I want to keep my image of Arie in tact and be cheering for him when I see that he's doing well & engaged to some gorgeous gal in the future.

IMO anyone who wants to go on this show, male or female, needs not to have any skeletons in their closet, because you can darned well bet that the tabloids will dig and keep digging until they find something, and if they don't find anything, they'll make something up with flimsy evidence in support.

Used to be that these kinds of tactics were only applicable to political candidates, but it seems that anyone who is in the public eye is now fair game.
