I could see the show encouraging Ames to have his HTD up in VT, since we know that JP's will either be in Manhattan or Roslyn. They probably would like to show the diversity from another geographic setting if possible.

I just was bringing it up because they list a Newport RI connection for the mother. Possible she lives there and the ride on the carriage is along the row of mansions in Newport because there are several carriage companies listed for Newport.

I did a ridiculous amount of looking at Central Park carriage rides and found a few discrepancies from this photo: 1. cobbled streets - no cobbled streets around Central Park, to the best of my knowledge/recollection; 2. grass roof on right. Ha ha I was about to post a picture of the ponytail too! But yours is clearer than mine was, ryvetted.

I had to laugh at in2deep's post because I spent too much time today doing much the same thing (and even scrutinizing google street view and an interactive map of Central Park), and came to pretty much the same conclusions. The cobblestones don't match, the structure doesn't match, and the carriage doesn't seem to match. Also there is a glaring lack of NYC skyline in the background, which as far as I know is visible from most places in Central park if not everywhere. But I haven't been all over the park so I can't say that for sure.

Also I lived in Cambridge, MA for almost 10 years and that isn't in Cambridge. I've also never seen a carriage like that there either. And true, we have no idea if this is even Ames. But who else could it be? It looks more like him than anyone else at this point. And the VO that is playing over the image has her saying "this is awesome, Ames," and you can hear the clop clopping of the horse in the background, but of course that sound could be edited together.

I think this is the obit for Ame's father and it lists a tie to Newport RI. They do have carriage rides in Newport to tour the big mansions but I can't find that specific carriage.

Ames Brown, a financial consultant, died on Tuesday at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was 58 years old and lived in Manhattan and Manchester, Vt.

He died of melanoma, his wife said.

For the last 25 years Mr. Brown had been with Brown-Cronson Associates, a financial consulting firm in Manhattan, and had been a venture capitalist.

Mr. Brown, a native of Geneva, served in the Air Force as a fighter pilot after graduating from from Yale University in 1955.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jane Gillespie, executive vice president of the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I.; a son, Ames Jr., of Manhattan, and two stepchildren, James Schwarz of Los Angeles and Serena Schwarz of Manhattan.

Great Find. His dad died young.

Where does his mother currently live?

If so she remarried after the death of Ames' father to a Charles Grimes now deceased and had a home in Chadd's Ford, PA.

a bit more indicating this person has residence in Chadd's Ford.

Here is a horse drawn carriage company that actually works with filming. It's based in Philly, PA. This is linked with Philly Trolley Works which offers horse drawn carriage tours, and does rides in the cobblestoned streets of Old City/Society town.
So you never know. They specialize in all kinds of props used in all kinds of movies and television productions.

Why would they be in Philly??? Have they ever gone to the lead's town??

And also - Ryv we compared the men's physiques to establish that the mud bath was JP/Ash - much like the Vienna/Jake date a few seasons ago. Although, if you would like, we can repost the comparisons for you :gotcha:

Chadd's Ford, PA is 25 miles west of Philly. Ames' mother had a residence in Chadd's Ford as recently as a few years ago.

You might be onto something there, Kasha. Googling Chadds Ford images comes up with lots of old stone houses and lots of trees & greenery. Chadds Ford is also in Delaware County, so when I googled images for Delaware County and carraiges, there are tons of pics that come up.
