I vote for an English type manor house in the Connecticut countryside.
I just spent an hour or so looking for carriage rides in MA. Couldn't find anything that would match, anyone want to volunteer to look in CT? :giggle:

I googled carriage rides in CT and, while there are a lot of them, didn't see any with this type carriage featured. Doesn't mean it isn't there, but it may be a private company or not on the internet.

That is moss, not grass, on the roof. Grass/sod is put on some roofs, and it is on purpose -- used to be common in places such as Scandinavia and Germany, as well as the Great Plain of the USA. Moss grows on old shingled (asphalt or wood) roofs, especially in the shade, as long as no steps are taken to prevent growth or to keep it cleaned off (which is desirable because the moss damages the shingles).
I was wondering if this was taken at some historical village. Though I would have no clue what one.

Google Chrome has a new function called "SEARCH BY IMAGE" which will help you match an image if you crop it right. Just copy-paste the URL into the search box, then click "search by image". I'm messing around with it right now, and all I've found out so far is that the carriage has German origins haha... maybe someone will have better luck

you know I wonder if that might not be some sort of Amish village or carriage?
Re: Season 7 Screencaps Discussion - Thread #3
No - not Amish. It's too much of a European 18th century nobility type of carriage.

In the picture of the DSG leaving with a red suitcase...on close inspection it looks like a hotel lobby with a red couch with Queen Anne legs on it. Does that sound like any place we have seen. There also appears to be a big lobby sign board on two legs but I can't make out what is on it.....it appears the main color on it is reddish.

Do we already know who got the mud bath? I haven't had time to go back see if we got that yet.
Not sure if this has already been mentioned...I captured some extra bit of film during the mud bath, where you can see a partial bit of his swim trucks.
I haven't seen JP or Ben wear these trucks yet during any episode, but we can keep an eye on future screencaps of these shorts along with her purple top to compare later:

If he doesn't get another 1-1 date then I would say yeah.
I did a ridiculous amount of looking at Central Park carriage rides and found a few discrepancies from this photo: 1. cobbled streets - no cobbled streets around Central Park, to the best of my knowledge/recollection; 2. grass roof on right. I don't remember any grassy roof action in NYC. 3. Carriage itself - most Central Park carriages have the riders lower than the drivers. This one, def has riders higher.
Anything else I can do from Australia, just let me know.... I have some time, since I've had to abandon my ipad. Ccrazy obsession with Angry Birds - and now I no longer love my eldest son who introduced it to me.

Hope you are having a great time,I2D! I agree that doesn't look like Central Park. It doesn't even look like Ashley to me. Where is her hair?
Ha ha I was about to post a picture of the ponytail too! But yours is clearer than mine was, ryvetted.
I had to laugh at in2deep's post because I spent too much time today doing much the same thing (and even scrutinizing google street view and an interactive map of Central Park), and came to pretty much the same conclusions. The cobblestones don't match, the structure doesn't match, and the carriage doesn't seem to match. Also there is a glaring lack of NYC skyline in the background, which as far as I know is visible from most places in Central park if not everywhere. But I haven't been all over the park so I can't say that for sure.jelle wrote:
Ames is getting his PhD at Harvard. Might this be Cambridge, MA?
Also I lived in Cambridge, MA for almost 10 years and that isn't in Cambridge. I've also never seen a carriage like that there either. My only other guess is that either it is some other outlying area of NYC or suburb? They list his hometown as NY, NY, but maybe his family is upstate? Usually they would say so, though.
So yeah, I have no idea where this is.
And true, we have no idea if this is even Ames. But who else could it be? It looks more like him than anyone else at this point. And the VO that is playing over the image has her saying "this is awesome, Ames," and you can hear the clop clopping of the horse in the background, but of course that sound could be edited together.
I think this is the obit for Ame's father and it lists a tie to Newport RI. They do have carriage rides in Newport to tour the big mansions but I can't find that specific carriage.

That is the obit and that's how I got the ties to Manchester, Vt. where the family once lived along with a place in Manhattan.
