Re: About Our Site - Announcements - Important Info
May i ask about Multi-Quote icon/option here?
1. what is the purpose?
2. how to use it?
3. what is the difference from the (single) quote icon?
in advance!

I love the multi quote. Say you're reading a thread. You've read something you want to reply to but you haven't finished reading the thread. You click multi quote. You keep reading, and find something else you want to reply to, you click multi quote.
When you're done, go to the reply box, click Switch Editor Mode, the last icon, then click Post Reply at the bottom left hand.
Your reply box with have each item you quoted, with space underneath to reply. If you skip switch editor mode, you'll see the quotes and you have to be careful where you type so you don't mess up the quotes. Try it in the technical thread.
Click Technical Thread Here
click multi quote
go to reply box - click switch editor mode
click post reply, bottom left hand side of reply box

Just a question? If this was already discussed and I missed it, please forgive me. Someone pointed out to me that in the past one used to have to be a member to view the current season spoiler/sleuthing section. That is no longer the case. I always thought it was a good idea as it helped increase our membership and encouraged lurkers to start posting. It also meant that people like RS actually had to become members in order to steal our info.

I'm not sure how it was before but when the board was transferred into the Admin's name, that's how it was set up, guests can view but not post. I thought about the pro's and con's of forcing them to register if they can't view. We have over 6500 users that have not posted a single post. 50 per page, 131 pages. Some of them sign on regularly. I can't search exactly how many of them sign on regularly, but there are way more that have not posted, and not come back, then there are those that sign on regularly and not posted.
I can see a pattern of new users during peak season and the last log in date was 1 or 2 yrs ago. and they never came back.
I can search posters who never posted which brings up those pages, but within those pages it tells me last sign on date. There may be 30 on a page that registered and never came back, and 20 that registered never posted, but last visit was recent. I need to manually check off those 30 to delete them. Then go to the next page. Therefore in my thought process, I felt do we want more useless users that will increase the zero posts or leave them as guests. It doesn't really make a difference IMO other than more work to sort them out.
If we change it to block guests from viewing spoilers, I would think there would be people registering just to view the board anyway.
That has been my thought process, but I welcome any further discussion!!

Re: About Our Site - Announcements - Important Info
It's been my experience that on any forum people sign up and never post. Some lose interest; some are just "readers." I read this site almost every day, but I am not a prolific poster.
I assume administration has e-mail addresses for all of us. If someone hasn't visited in "X" time frame (whatever you guys decide), is it possible to send them an e-mail to see if they want to continue membership. This is just an idea, and I do realize it is a rather burdensome task. Just my thoughts.

Re: About Our Site - Announcements - Important Info
Personally, I come and go from this site. It got really heated after Emily's season and I didn't enjoy the tone during Sean's season so I stayed away for a while. I was getting mean in my own posting and didn't like that about myself. I needed a break.
I am really happy with the changes to the board, Love and San did a great job setting this place up, but it is huge and too much work for one person or even two. The new admin and mods are keeping it pretty fair and even so far and I like that.
I am happy some no fan discussion threads are being used again. I am a fan of some, but it is also great to have balanced discussion too. I like that fans can stick to one place if they prefer to only have the good of a person or couple and that those who want a more rounded discussion have a place to go as well. I think if both places can be maintain, just like a spoiler and non-spoiler area it makes the board a better place.
RS will never credit anyone else, just like he complains that no one credits him. Some are going to want to look before becoming involved, so to me I like that people can look first.
I really am happy with the new admins and mods and I enjoy having San posting and participating along with the rest of us.

Great conversation going on here, and I hope other's chime in.
Just to clarify, I have no problem with registered users who log in and seldom post, or don't post at all.
The clean up is with those that are registered, and never came back, or haven't logged on for months, and years. I'm cleaning those up. They haven't logged on in 1 2 3 yrs, so why waste the room on the board, among other reasons.
Columbia - Thank you for pointing that suggestion so the others are aware of it. Yes there is an option for that but there are so many, as I said 6500, all these emails will go out in my outbox which fills up quickly, as well as a copy in the bachbachelorette@gmail.com email. I figured if they haven't logged on in a year or 2 years or 3 yrs etc, no need to inform them first. I did initially try that for 200 of them, none of them replied back and I had to delete all those email PM notices when the emails went out.

Thanks for you input! Identifying that you need a break was very good on your part. I know how the seasons can affect people.
I'm glad to see positive comments about the General Discussion Threads. I think the Fan Threads are a great idea, however if posters weren't a "Fan" where would they post? The other couples have General Discussion threads, I only thought it was fair for everyone to have General Discussion threads.
Perhaps our "Guests" will register and start posting too!

I am one of the people that reads this board daily. I enjoy the perspective of those that post, but I never post. Keep up the good work of finding out the F1 before the final.

JMO but since some of the special couples like Sean / Cat, JP / Nikki, Des / Chris not only have fan threads but their OWN forum my personal preference would be to have a non-fan thread for General posts in their own respective forums.
The reason is that by putting a non-fan thread into the General Couples forum, I see a new post icon appear but now there is so much traffic because of Sean/Cat and the other special couples who actually already have their own forums and am disappointed when I don't see posts of other ex-contestant couples that don't have their own forums like Blake/Holly Molly/Jason and Trista/Ryan etc.
However that is just me that would prefer it that way. They have an entire section so all their stuff should be in their section so that we can new posts coming up for the couples that don't. Again JMO. Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand, but maybe that's just me, it's been a long day. :shocked!:
We have a Category called:
Bachelor & Bachelorette Fan Forums - Discussions- In here are the most popular couples and are for discussing only positive information. These topics have numerous posts and ongoing threads.
We have a Category called:
Bachelor- Bachelorette- Couples and Contestant Forums - Discussions
In here we have: Bachelor - Bachelorette Couples - Updates - Discussion
and Bachelor - Bachelorette - Former Contestants - Updates - Discussion
These are all past couples and past contestants for General Discussion.
(The other threads, Brooks Zak etc, will be organized soon as well as Emily Jef Ari etc, they will all be moved. )
Keeping the Fan Threads separate from the General Discussion thread is to avoid posting in the wrong thread.
In the Former Couples you will find Holly/Blake Jason/Molly, in the Former Contestants you will find the singles, Roberto etc.
I suggest to everyone, use the "View New Post" at the top right hand of the board, and the bottom right hand. I seldom go to the home page and never look at the new post icon on the home page. I keep refreshing View New Posts, this brings up each thread, this is where I click the new post icon, you won't miss any posts and you get to all the new posts easily.
I hope this helped. If not, please let me know. TY!

Aaargh! One of the things I have enjoyed the last few weeks is that "flood control" was turned off. I'm a lousy typist and I often post then immediately see I made a typo and try to correct it. I can't do that with flood control on. Why did it get turned back on? It's never been turned on in any of my other forumotion forums...never got why it was turned on here. Please turn it back off....
