Was there a "meet the parents" where Jef and Sean meet Emily's family?
It is weird. But I guess if you're from a big family, as long as you meet at least 10 of them, you pretty much get an idea what the family is like.

I agree, but I think it would be odder if Jef did not meet her father and ask permission to marry Emily.

moonpie wrote:The Bachelorette's Emily Maynard is finally getting her fairy-tale ending! Life & Style can exclusively reveal that Emily got engaged to her winning man!
In the new issue, on newsstands now, Life & Style discloses that on May 11, just after midnight, the man who stole Emily's heart got down on one knee and proposed with a 4-carat Neil Lane diamond ring, worth roughly $90,000. "It was truly a one-of-a-kind fairy-tale experience for her," an insider shares.
The proposal, filmed for the final episode, which airs on July 16, took place in the cobblestone courtyard of the Kura Hulanda resort on the Caribbean island of Curaçao.
"The final bachelor was led through a grand sky-blue gate to where Emily stood," reveals the insider. "The proposal took place in the middle of the night, which gave it a more intimate feel."
And now, more than a month later, a friend confirms, "Emily is still happy and engaged. She is ecstatic. She's over the moon and loves her ring." Emily's daughter shares her mom's joy, the pal asserts: "Ricki is really happy, too."
This makes me giggle.
I know it's all in how it's worded, but knowing Emily's penchant for the finer things, doesn't the bolded make seem like the love of her life is her new $90k Neil Lane??
OK, so I'm a lawyer, but here is what I take from this press release (with the obligatory disclaimer that I like ALL of the F3 this season):
(1) They don't talk about a rejected F2. Only the "final bachelor" is mentioned as having been led through the gate. Maybe she let F2 (and a returning F3) go early?
(2) The part about her being really, really happy mostly relates to the fact of the engagement and her ring. I presume we're also supposed to infer that she's happy in her relationship, but they don't discuss that as much. Perhaps we'll see this come out more in future articles.

I dont agree with your last statement.
She is happy and engaged...period. She is over the moon AND loves her ring. I didn't interpret that as ecstatic over the ring....just my take.

Interesting, right?
I wonder what the possibilities are of Emily not letting anyone go at the F3 rose ceremony, i.e., keeping all three and then a shake-up happens after that?

I think so too. But apparently there are still 2 LCDs, as mentioned in the article.nd4reality wrote:I got the same thing from this article which is :

Why do we think there was only 1 guy there? Is it because the article doesn't mention her letting someone go, or is there something else I'm missing?

1. [deleted]
2. One month out and still no room on the ABC primetime schedule for a 1 hour ATFR. Suggesting possibility of using two hour slot to do proposal and ATFR. Consistent with no rejectee on May 11 in the courtyard? Wondering about choosing her guy, and letting him have time with Ricki as "audition" to whether he can present her with a (honestly, grotesque to me) $90K ring.
3. HOW MANY WELLS CAN YOU DRILL IN A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY WITH $90,000 OR EMILY'S FRIGGIN' WARDROBE. IT IS SORT OF DISGUSTING AND HYPOCRITICAL IF SHE KEEPS THAT DAMN RING.
Dear You Know Who You Are, starts with an "S": A certain New York Times reporter MUST write a story about this hypocrisy of corporate do-gooders. Honestly, tell ABC to dig a freakin' well.
