Someone PLEASE drag Mandy into the 21st Century... that is one outdated and, frankly, offensive "defense"... LOL

The insistence on outdated gender roles might be what's rubbing me the wrong way with Ryan. He's definitely getting the stereotypical jock edit who wants a trophy wife even though I'm sure that he's more well-rounded than that.

For as much as I think Ryan would be happiest with an active woman, I don't see him standing at the finish line of his woman's triathlon or marrying a female soldier.

Ryan at the Bermuda after party talking to Em: ''We had to sit there and watch you and Arie kissing, I had a bit of a hard time with that'' (maybe he is talking about Em kissing Arie at the group date after party in Bermuda?):



Em VO: ''I just feel like he's judging me'' (is she speaking about Ryan or could this have been about someone else? Just speculation.)

Ryan: He is probably not answering Em's statement above , he's saying ''Yep'' at the RC cocktail party + making a face (this could be about anything, right?):



Arie VO: ''there are so many thing about Ryan that are so narcissistic'' + a (random?) face shot of Arie at the RC cocktail (I guess the days of Arie jumping and hugging Ryan on the boat racing date are long gone Or Arie could have said this at a later time.):



Ryan: ''I'm very good at everything I do'' (something he says in a conversation with Doug I think, at the RC cocktail party) :



Ryan PI: ''I feel like I'm called to something bigger'' (What is the producer question he is answering here? Is he really talking about being ''called to become the bachelor'' i.e. quoting Mr. Pavelka Is he maybe speaking in terms of his faith? Was the producers asking him a specific question in the hopes of getting him to say a certain frase they could use in their storyline? Just speculating.) :

Ryan with Michael: ''Isn't it great whenever you are able to, like, use a position like this'' (Is he really talking about becoming the bachelor? Is he talking about the opportunities/exposure this could/will give all of them? Maybe including using his posistion to do good? Just speculating :hidingchair

Or maybe it was a random sentence in a conversation that fitted their storyline? (--> maybe he and Micheal were using their 'position' by the fire and were roasting some marshmallows?! )





Arie VO: ''I don't think Ryan really cares about Emily's happiness'' (No bromance for Arie and Ryan ) + (Random?) face shot of Sean ( editor man/woman): ...oh, and Chris too




VO: Someone, that I can't quite make out who is, saying ''Emily's making a mistake'' (Who is this person talking about? Is it Ryan? Is it from another time?)

Emily and Ryan conversation:

(did they cut his sentence short here? Why? Did he mean let's do 'Ryan for bachelor' promotion?
Sidenote: I remember that he referred to 'the bachelorette' as 'the bachelor' on his 1on1 in epi. 1 saying something like ''You don't think you're gonna be on the bachelor making cookies on the first date...'' )




Ryan VO: ''If I was the bachelor'' ---> then it jumps to Ryan PI (I get a ''let's edit in a certain thing he said at another time'' feeling again ) : ''..... I would be ready to open my heart up, you know and it will be neat for everybody to see'':

Thanks for the break down Kiki! And for the fb updates and the RC pics too! It made it easier to see how it could have been edited and manipulated more. Giving Ryan the benefit of the doubt...but he still said a whole lot of stuff he shouldn't have (whether he was prodded, poked, and manipulated by producers or of his on free will).

Its funny, maybe because I never viewed Ryan as a potential finalist for Emily, i've always viewed him as more of a character with a part to play than anything else.

He's so into himself and confident - big time guys guy. He makes me laugh.

I initially thought from all of those pictures they seemed totally into each other and would be together 4eva!! LOL

But yea, now he is just a character who makes me laugh at the ridiculousness of his edit. I laugh every time he does that thing where he asks himself a question and then answers. "Did I ever think I would compete with guy like Arie?" "No, I did not" OMG It's like production doesn't even have to ask him the probing questions.. he just does it himself.

Yeah I am stoked him and Cash McDougle are going to be Bachelor Pad. His foot in the mouth comments are TV gold. They can keep giving him the same edit for all I care... the guy is harmless. JMO
