Everything I have heard about Ryan from friends and family has been super positive. Some of the things he said tonight sounded scripted.

ETA: I really hope what he shares with Emily isn't anything negative about Arie though.

While some of the things Ryan said tonight made me cringe, it also makes me sad that he is being judged from an edited version on a reality show. Someone has to get the horrible edit though and obviously Ryan threw the short straw.

It is disturbing that TPTB are willing to destroy someone's reputation just so drama can be added to the show - I thought that was why Kalon was there.

I think Ryan is a good Christian man, he just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. Don't tell a woman that you won't love on her as much if she gains weight. We're already self-conscious as it is.

Agreed! Definitely one of the cringe worthy moments I mentioned. I think he is a good Christian man, also, but let's hope Ryan does better next week. If not, I may have to kick my avatar to the curb!

I see Ryan's point to be honest about the weight thing. He better not get a beer gut on me or his little tush will be running miles! For me, it's important that someone wants to be healthy, making good diet and exercise choices. I think that's what he meant....

Ryan's getting the wonderful first-date edit complete with the out-and-out jealousy. He's the perfect person for the show to exploit: he's a competitor through and through. Plus, I think that Ryan operates according to the "you need to be your own cheerleader" mentality. He is going to think positively of himself so that he can succeed. He is a motivator; that's his job.

Anyway, I could do without some of his less reflective comments, but I think he's realizing that the writing is on the wall for him. He's not winning this game.

Ryan is a good guy who probably got tied up in producer manipulation. Just like I had issues with Courtney when she spoke ill of others, I'll have those same issues with Ryan. He's letting the green-eyed monster turn him into something he's not.

I didnt understand why he said he never thought he would be competing (not sure if he used that word) for a girl against someone like Arie. Huh? There are about 10 other guys there that I would think would be more apt to fit that description (allesandro; kalon; etc etc). I dont get what he meant by that?

Veg, I think you've summarized Ryan perfectly. His edit has been less than stellar.

Totally. He really ate his whole right leg when he said that comment forget just a foot. Ryan, I imagine, is mostly surrounded by dudes and doesn't really think much about his words. It wasn't super sensitive, but you could see him try to cover it over and fix it. Her friends, despite him saying that in front of him, did pick him as a good match for her. In the end, though, it's good that he's not F1 because I don't think they'd make it out of the FRC together let alone to July.
