Regarding Brad not necessarily being a "bad boy" type (if that is indeed something that attracts Emily), we also have to remember that Emily probably fell victim to the old "only hamburger in the store" syndrome of the show. And her feelings for Brad could have been more a result of being flattered that out of 25 women, he chose to pursue only her, than that she felt gaga over him, or that she truly believed he was her "soulmate". There was much discussion about how cautious and "hands off" she appeared to be during Brad's season, which was attributed to her naturally reserved manner and her wish to retain a proper image for her daughter's sake, yet we've now seen the photo of her playing serious tonsil hockey with Jef on their date, so yeah, maybe she's not such an ice princess, but it was just a case of Brad not REALLY turning her on, but going along with it anyway because he was just sooooo into HER, and she was equal parts flattered/brainwashed.

To bring this back on topic, Ryan is hot, even if Emily doesn't want him!

Emily does have a high consideration for her image as it relates to her daughter, David Good even reiterated that in his latest interview. However, I also thinks that Emily wants to show people that she truly does have a cool personality. So, she's trying to balance the two things this season. Regarding the physical aspect of things, Emily was all for getting physical and kissing Brad.The issue was Brad. He was the one who was skitish and shy baout kissing her out of respect and his buterflies about being around a girl he truly had love feelings for. Emily had no trouble making clear that she wante da guy who had the ability to take the initiative and not be afraid to kiss her , even with her daughter in the house. If any of that Doug article in Prague is true, that sentiment is still the case. The only issue Emily had about appearances was negotiating what went down in the fantasy suite and how it appeared to the public & her daughter. However, she still went and she's gonna have to navigate it 3 times this season. I doubt she's gonna give up that private time. Emily hasn't change, what people are seeing is Emily with guys who aren't afraid to kiss her, and show affection when they like her. IMO

I agree Nikki! I liked Emily more when she said on Brad's seaon that he was not getting out of her house without kissing her... I just about died, lol. I think that was her true personality shown with a sense of humor and dry wit. Maybe the guys have to show some sort of initiative around her as a sign of physical interest... and not to treat her like a butterfly

I agree that Brad put her on a pedestal and was so in awe of her that he was almost afraid to touch her for fear she'd break, all the while having no trepidation about getting busy with Chantal and a few others. That also was part of the problem for Emily in watching the show, as he was all over all the other women except her. I'm still not sure how much of her love for Brad was show induced though; IOW, if Brad was one of the contestants on her season and she was meeting him for the first time, do you think she'd pick him over this other crop of guys?

Poor Brad, on top of all his other "issues", seems to suffer from a bit of a "madonna/whore complex", probably made even worse by Emily being a mother. I guess Emily really didn't want to be on that pedestal!!

The other thing is, to add to the bolded question and your 'only hamburger in the store' comment, Emily chose Brad before she ever started filming the Bachelor. Before Brad was announced as the Bachelor, when asked who was her favorite out of the last few bachelors or who would she like to be the Bachelor, she said Brad. She'd watched his first season and liked him. So, her attraction to Brad wasn't brought on by being in the Bachelor bubble or 'only hamburger in the store' syndrome. She was attracted to Brad before she ever met him and got isolated inside the show. However, there is the question of did the real person Brad meet the expectations that were set by the tv version of Brad. That's another story and irrelevant at this point.

Still, in reference to your bolded question, I do think Emily would have been attracted to him . Whether he would win out over the other guys, with her going into it not knowing all the drama that befell them post-the Bachelor filming , I don't know. That would depend on the other guys and their true personalities, which I don't know yet, as much as anything related to Brad. I certainly think it's possible though. It's simply too hard to quantify the experience of laying your heart and past on the line to one person on the Bachelor versus doing so to a group of guys on the Bachelorette. The connections, how they are made, and circumstances of falling in love are quite different. One guy you connect with who wants to protect you and give you the world versus multiple guys who you connect with on multiple levels, for different reasons, who want to give you the world too. It's much easier to quantify what made you fall in love with one guy your dating, than to do so when your dating multiple guys at the same time, all who you have valid interested in, even in the real world. Perhaps that is what will keep people guessing about the season, like Emily's promo said, .

As you said, Nikki, there is a difference between Emily stating before actually meeting Brad that she was attracted to him (or preferred him over the finite universe of 13 other men who had been the Bachelor), and knowing to what degree the actual flesh and blood Brad lived up to her preconceived image of him. I'm thinking that if contestant Brad would have been as in awe of, and physically unaggressive towards her as lead Brad was, he may not have won her. Not sure, of course, whether the different dynamic of actually competing for her against a slew of other guys would have changed his approach any. However, if Brad does indeed have a need to put a woman he truly worships on the proverbial pedestal, while Emily is looking for the guy she loves to take a more "hands on" approach with her, so to speak, that would just be another area of incompatability between them.

I guess we'll never really know for sure, but it's fun to speculate, and perhaps the way she acts on her season (and with the guy she ultimately picks) will shed a little more light on the matter.

I am a Brad fan....but his anger issues and whatever other issues he has, does not make for a long-term commitment. Remembering Laurel's comments about him not liking PDA and him blocking her phone number stand out to me. I feel sorry he does not have a more even temper. I believe he's a gentleman but not marriage prone!

It could be as simple as that. Ryan is a great guy, but Emily had more of a connection to someone else. It doesn't mean that anything is wrong with Ryan or that he isn't worthy of finding someone special one day. He and Emily just were not meant to be. He is still one of my favorites this season so I hope he gets a good edit. JMHO
