I like the idea that they're already down to a smaller group.

I do as well. Emily deserves the chance to spend as much time as possible with the best of the best of her bachelors.

I just checked Ashley's season. They went from 12 to 11 in this episode. Then 11 to 8, 8 to 6, 6 to 4, etc.
I guess for Emily's they're doing 11 to 8 an episode earlier. Then 8 to 6, 6 to 5, 5 to 4?

If she sent 3 or 4 home to get it down to 8, it makes sense that it would be challenging for her. I can't imagine that she's down to this number so quickly because it's going to be an abbreviated season as Fleiss is too crazy about her for that. I think it's more what has already been said that Emily wants more time with each guy to give herself the best chance possible to get to know each one and to be able to sort out her feelings.

Or could he mean 8 women who have been The Bachelorette by Elite Eight? Emily is the 8th one.

This tweet below also goes with the other two tweets about it being a challenging night for Emily. Something tells me it might have something to do with one of the guy(s) that made her have a challenging night. Just speculating though. I have no idea.

Interesting that it sounds like after tonight's RC it will already be down to 8.

At this point it should be 12 or 11, but not 8. I could see her getting to 8 maybe next week and even that's stretching it. He said working toward, so maybe she is on her way, but tonight it will be 11 and then the next time 8. Maybe she is narrowing it down faster this season so it is one week shorter or as someone mentioned she is getting to fewer guys so she gets more time with the ones she really is interested in later in the season.

Bermuda should be the 4th episode and last night should have been the 4th RC 11-8, or in Ali's season, it was in NYC and it was 11-9. Ali took 9 guys to Iceland for Ep 5 (9-7), Ep 6 in Thailand (7-5), Ep 7 in Portugal (5-4), Ep 8 was HTDs. However, I think on the 1st episode, Ali went from 25-18 and Maybe Emily's was 25-17. I think I read that somewhere. RS? I know Brad started with 30 women and he went from 11-8 at the 5th RC in Vegas.

If Emily is going to have the standard 10 episode season, plus MTA, she has only 4 guys left after Bermuda (Ep 4) to send home during the next 3 episodes before the HTD episode 8. If that's the case, she will probably send 2 home (Ep 5) and 1 each home in (Ep 6 & 7). That is cutting it thin! However, that will give her more time with the guys she likes the most, and that's a good thing.
