I know very little about Chris, Sean and Jef; is there anything in their backgrounds that indicates how worldly they are? I have a feeling that she fell for Arie (and the lifestyle that he represented, which I suspect makes all the other guys' lifestyles pale in comparison) right away, and she ended up just going through the motions with most of the other guys. Maybe Ryan was not only too small town, but too "serious" about actually falling in love and finding a wife, and she chose to keep the slightly less serious guys because they would be less hurt about being "led on". no idea

Still think that the producers had big plans/expectations for Ryan, but Emily insisted on sending him home sooner than they wanted her to for some reason. Hate to compare him with Fake Jake, but there are some similarities with how that played out. I'm also disappointed because I'm not even sure she kept him around long enough to be under consideration for the next lead. :tissuebox

I know a lot of people like Ryan, but in my opinion Sean and Ryan have the same type of background. They both played college football and are Christian. I can see that people thought Ryan was a front runner based on his first date, but I can definitely see how Emily might have liked Sean a little more. Also we know that she kissed Chris on her first date with him so that automatically signaled she liked him, imo. I don't know how worldy any of these guys are, but I don't think it's fair to assume that Ryan was serious about finding a wife, and if Emily chooses Arie than she is not serious about finding a husband!

Not just the first date but other things that were posted too about him, he just seemed to be a great fit for Em, but what do I know, she knows what she wants. Not sure why I can't get on Team Arie, but maybe that will change during the show? Chris was my pick for F2, so I guess I'll stick with him for now.

No wonder we havent seen any sightings of him!!

How far did the other first-daters get? I thought they got a lot farther than Ryan did!

Wow, I am shocked. Not even to make it to the Czech. I didn't think he would be F1 as he got the first date and I agree with you Jeepers, I had that sneaking suspicion about Emily. I think there is more to her than just the sweet, southern girl looking to settle down. I might even like her a bit more knowing she might have a bit of an edge to her.

Anyway, sorry Ryan fans, I'm absolutely shocked! And Jef, where did that one come from?
