Not necessarily. They may have asked him not to in order to keep the buzz going. I doubt they would be doing open casting calls for the next bachelor if they thought he or anyone else was still a contender.

I believe Roberto is the next Bachelor. Doesn't matter that they are casting from Hawaii at all. Casting calls are for picking the next 'characters' in their farce show.

They are always constantly casting, it doesn't matter if they have the next Bachelor or Bachelorette lead signed under contract. They continue casting for the next season and they use the lure of casting for the lead to actually get contestants rather than leads. They tell them they are casting for the bachelor and then once they are interested they tell them they have to go through being on the bachelorette first to get a chance at the lead. Same thing with them casting when they don't even know who the lead will be or the show where the retread will come from hasn't even started filming yet. They constantly casting and it's a long process so they need a head start.

I'm not looking forward to another former f1 as lead. It's not working out very well so why do they keep doing it? Having said that I'm not sure at all that Roberto said yes. I don't think he'd leave his business for so long. It was different last time. He also doesn't appear to be interested in the limelight so not sure why he'd do it. Like Jen, he had a great season to live up to and it may end up tarnishing his image.

I'm still holding onto a tiny bit of hope that Arie may do the show. He has to be heartbroken to be the lead and it appears that it happens to him.

I still don't believe that Roberto is officially our new Bach. Just my gut feeling. He would do much better finding love out of the limelight.

The new US Weekly claims Roberto's in negotiations with the Bach franchise and wants an Emily-like deal as far as money (I think the article may have said $750,000 but meant $150,000 because that's the number they've usually quoted for Emily).

The new In Touch also claims Roberto's going to get the ultimate revenge on Ali by becoming the next Bach, saying Ali feels betrayed considering Roberto was so much about privacy when they were together, whereas Roberto's anonymous friend claims the problem was Ali taking out her frustrations over her Hollywood career not going anywhere on him. All sounds pretty trumped up for drama to me.

Bachelorette alum Roberto Martinez -- who split from fiancee Ali Fedotowsky in November 2011 -- is demanding a big payday to be the next Bachelor.

"He wants a deal near what Emily [Maynard] asked for, around $750,000," says an ABC source of the San Diego insurance agent, 29, in talks to return to the franchise. "But the network will give him pretty much anything."

Maynard, however, did not receive her pricey paycheck. A source close to the 26-year-old Bachelorette star told Us, "They said no way, but she settled for something higher than $100,000, probably around $150,000."

The only person opposed to the idea of Martinez as the next Bachelor? Fedotowsky.

"Ali is dying for him not to do it," says the source. "She feels it's a slap in the face. Any chance for them reuniting is over."

Another source explains, ""Roberto has never shared his side of the breakup, and Ali is terrified about what he would say on the show and how she would come off. The two split in November 2011 after dating for 18 months.

But a source tells Us that Martinez is "going to do it. No question."
