We know he's handsome, we know he's sweet, and we know he's going to make women swoon as The Bachelor Canada this fall on Citytv. But now we get to know Brad Smith a little better by talking to someone who's been with him for many adventures. Ryan Sheahan is our Bachelor's best friend and he tells us what kind of guy Brad really is. WARNING: you might like him even more after this.

Pay Chen: How long have you known Brad?
Ryan Sheahan: Ten Years. When we first met he was a scrawny little rookie sitting in the emergency room in Kingston who needed a friend. Throw in some hilarious, fantastic adventures and here we are.

PC: Describe your relationship with him.
RS: I'm proud to say that I'm one of the people on this Earth that knows him the best. I've met many a person who says that they have someone that call and talk to everyday and for me The 'Bradiator' is that someone. We've joked at length about what our children will say when Uncle Brad or Uncle Ryan comes to visit. He's my hetero life-mate and I look forward to the rest of our stories the same way I treasure our previous ones.

PC: What makes Brad the perfect Bachelor?
RS: It doesn't take people very long to fall in love with Brad. He's funny, charismatic, athletic and kind on the eyes. He can be silly, adventurous, and the life of the party; but he has a good heart and isn't afraid to show it to those he cares about. I'm so happy for him that he is Canada's First Bachelor. He really is the best candidate for the show. He'll be as entertaining as he possibly can while staying true to the show's goal of true love in a condensed timeline. I'm hoping for the best.

PC: Describe the kind of friend Brad is to you.
RS: Do you know the song 'I'll Always Be There' by Roch Voisine? Well you should. That sentence describes the kind of friend he has been to me. Our friendship is not complicated. Without ever talking about it, we've just known from day one that we were always going to be boys.

PC: What kind of woman do you think is best suited to Brad?
RS: A beautiful, fun-loving woman who loves hockey and loves to go for a beer with the boys! She'll need to be sharp and have thick skin to be able to fire back when he or his 'friends' are acting the fool or pushing the envelope. Brad is a lover of life, so she'll need to be one of those people who's unafraid to step out there and experience it as it comes.

PC: Can you share a story that shows his fun and silly side?
RS: Get a pen and ten thousand sheets of paper and I'll tell some tales that will hurt your gut from laughing so hard. Better yet, watch CANAMERICA - the documentary of us traveling across Canada and the United States in 2010 for 10 days. The best time I've had doing anything and everything.

PC: Your favorite memory of time spent with Brad?
RS: CANAMERICA - One Car, Two Friends, 11 states, 10 Days… One Wild Ride. I'd love to do that again!!!

PC: How do you think Brad will handle being in a house with 25 women?
RS: One word: Jackpot!

RS: To enjoy the ride of her life with the man of her dreams.

Q: hey brad what’s your favorite place to vacation to in the world?
A: Crane Beach in Barbados

Q: Here’s a question for Brad from Beth: What do your parents think of all of this now that it is on TV?
A: They are amazed at my low self esteem! No, just kidding! They are very proud of how I’ve acted…so far! ;)

Q: When you were asked to be the Bachelor, what made you decide to find your life time mate on a television show?
A: I went on for the hope that the one girl I was looking for was there, as well as the experience. Hope is the key word. No one could guarantee she’d be there. But I hoped!

Q: Brad, what attracts you to Whitney?
A: Obviously, she is really good looking, but out of all the girls I met that first night, she was the one who talked to me, not at me.

Q: Hi Brad! I want to know what you think are the three biggest turn offs and/or bad qualities a girl can have?
A: Major turn-offs are: 1. Picky eater 2. Major drama!?! 3. Open for discussion…

Q: Did you get anyone/people swaying your final decision?
A: Everyone from my parents to production knew that I was totally in control of my decisions and supported me the entire time.

Q: Hey Brad. What do u love about being the 1st ever Cdn Bachelor?
A: That there was no pressure! ;) I think I just fit into the Canadian mold so well, and was totally ready for the experience.

Q: Brad! Why weren’t you a hockey player!?
A: I had stone hands! I would give up a lot of things in my life for one shift in the NHL.

Q: what does your tatoo represent
A: You’ll find out in the next episode. (Episode 4)

A: I prefer to cook. Without question.

Q: Which girl made you laugh the most on the first night?
A: I think I was so terrified during all the conversations the first night that my sense of humour was skewed. I think I laughed at everything.

Q: Did you watch any of the recent Bachelor seasons to prepare for this ?
A: You can’t prepare for this. Even if you do watch all the other seasons of The Bachelor, it’s a much different experience than people think.

Q: how was it to date all those women at a time?
A: Tremendously unnatural, but I tried my best!

Q: Are you happy with the decision that you have made or you wished
that you could go back and change some things?
A: I’m happy with how everything turned out! The experience was amazing.

Q: How does it feel watching yourself on tv?
A: I should have worked out more often! Especially in the jerseys off shots.

Q: What is your favorite book?
A: Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman

Q: Brad if you weren’t a football player, what would your second choice have been…
A: Cook! I’ve always loved cooking for friends and family. It’s one of my passions.

Q: Brad, if your life could turn out to be like any movie, which one would you choose!
A: Family Man! Realizing just how great normality is…

Q: Brad, on a scale of 1 to 10, how nervous were you the first day?
A: About a 52! Nothing prepares you for the first night.

Q: Is professional success something you look for in a woman or not a big deal to you?
A: No, I look for drive. Drive determines success.

Q: Do you find it attractive it when a woman has tasteful tattoos and/ or piercings?
A: Whatever works for the girl. I always base it off her personality. I don’t discriminate.

Q: Which superhero would you be?
A: That’s a tough one. Wolverine, probably. He’s a bad ass, and I’m not one.

Q: What is the main quality you are looking for in a wife.
A: Understanding, because I am going to make a lot of mistakes. But I hope she knows that I don’t make the same mistake twice.

Q: Brad, Did you get more nervous as the taping went on with each rose ceremony or did it get easier once you got to know the girls?
A: It got harder once I got to know the girls because I didn’t want to let them down. I never want to be disrespectful.

Q: What song was your go- to song that you would listen to to get pumped up for a f- ball game?
A: Womanizer by Britney Spears. I’m just kidding, it was actually Toxic.

Q: Do you have any pets?
A: No, I don’t have any pets

Q: Brad, do you think it’s okay to kiss a girl you’re dating in front of
another girl you’re dating?
A: Never, but given the constraints of the show, I had to treat each individual interaction like its own relationship. It’s very unnatural.

Q: Brad, if you could be any flavour of ice cream which one would
you be and why?
A: Rocky Road…frozen marshmallows are heavenly!

Q: What did you think when Chantelle told you that she’s a virgin?
A: I think everyone lives their life in their own way, and someone’s sexual history has no bearing on whether or not I’m going to be attracted to her.
