So does it seem like SM activity may not be all that reliable (at least with this group), unless a blatant post or story is made by these guys?

The fluctuations of a few numbers here and there aren't telling to me. He could have requested to follow other private people who accepted days after his request.

With that many following he's going to have numbers going down since people unfollow or deactivate.
