She could just be going off hearsay - from RS or wherever - if she didn't know what he did in Fiji (her first question) then the congrats may just be assumption. (Trying to play devil's advocate here, I'm Team Cupcake too ;))

I have like a 6 degrees of separation regarding JP.
All I can add is there is a huge wall of privacy surrounding him regarding people in his inner circles...
I have tried dealing with with leads toward highschool/hometown--nothing, I have tried separate leads with NYC life--nothing.
Phrase--he has battened down the hatches with mum being the word.
No chinks in this armor for me. Can not find anything. If people in his inner sanctum know things, I am not finding leaks.

Interesting! Thanks, Kasha. Yes, he could be keeping his contract seriously - but I would think more leaks would get out if he was F2. Isn't that how RS knew about Chris L? Because he had essentially moved on with his life before the finale aired? Whereas Roberto had also "battened down the hatches" and there was nothing there?
