Bachelorette 17 - Katie Thurston - June 28 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

I think the girl who will partner Andrew S will be a very very lucky girl.

Baby voices never lie. She got it with Greg and Michael…. And was very flirty with Blake.

I am still thinking that she may have negotiated with prods Blake arrival. Why was he late? No valid explanation unless carefully planned to arrive after Cody, karl and Thomas.

Katie has trusting issues and this becomes more and more obvious. She is rewarding the tattletale instead of clearly say she is a smart capable person who will figure it out… that is very childish. Therefore she is enticing more drama.

Right now her focus are 3 person. I am thinking she already project herself with Greg and Michael with a preference with Greg. But Blake will give what Greg is unable…. Passion. I think chemistry with Blake will be higher than anyone else…. Until it burns out… or not

Michael left. Greg left. Remain Blake…. And Andrew who grew in her as being I think the sweetest guy she ever met. Not saying the other are jerks, but Andrew has this extra special.

So top 2, Blake and Andrew…. But Andrew came too late or he bailed out. Not sure. I think we will all fall in love with Andrew. In no shape or form, I see Greg coming back.

Justin was loved the same way prods love expressive contestants. Lot of camera zoom but not sure real interest by the lead.

May I add that Blake has something fake that I cannot pinpoint but makes me cringe? I see plain as day that they flirted prior the premiere. They flirted hard. Katie played her role well of the indecisive girl who needed to think. Part of the deal with prods? But her body language says already she is attracted which means he is no stranger.

Overall, Katie is very insecure (past) and need a man who will always reinsure her. I fear the jealousy that often goes with insecurities.

Blake being F1 has merits. But who knows? Maybe Andrew will be the slow burn that will reveal himself after Greg messy departure? A la Des/Brooks/Chris or Ali/Frank/Robert ?

I am confused. Obviously.

Why would Katie run monkey jumping Andrew if he just announced he wanted out?
Why was she barefoot?
Why this happened in the Recency VIP suites Hyatt resorts?
Why did he cry? Is it really the same outfit?
Why prods added this ILY frankenbites with Andrew?
If she was set on Blake being F1, I don’t understand the monkey jumping?

Blake bothers me just because he was so after Claire - and then so after Tayisha. Especially after Thomas was bashed for telling Katie whatever she wanted to hear. Then Blake promises her the world, she is obviously attracted to him, he's older than most of the other guys - and she's all in. I agree - Katie does seem insecure. She seems to emphasize the engagement at the end as the goal rather than finding a lasting love. She seems to like Greg the most at this stage. He seems to be going along with whatever she says she feels. His message to her on the truth or dare date seemed immature and maybe producer driven ?? Producers haven't shown us much of what Katie has in common with any of these guys - so maybe Blake will stand out since he's outdoorsy ... or is he just the first one to really come on strong - to win the prize ?

I predicted Jef with one f. But Arie got the sexual chemistry. I see what you mean. However jef was a total jerk while I see a genuine guy in Andrew. Jmo

@CHO agree. Greg goes with the flow, probably flattered Katie drop on his lap but I don’t see reciprocity. Maybe because she is hunting him instead of the reverse? Blake is immature. I am convinced he fall hard but get bored easily. I am not sure he is a great communicator. I think he listens to himself a lot.

I'm still not "into" Blake. Katie seems smitten so I guess it will be.  While I don't think he's a bad guy, there is just something there that is off to me.  Somewhere I read that he's in love with love.  I get the feeling that if it weren't Katie it could be any of a number of women.  He's just too intense and programmed or something to me.  I rarely like the final choice so if spoilers are true, this season will be like many others . When Tayshia said someone from her past, I almost thought Brendan, and somewhere Katie reportedly said she thought Blake or Dr Joe.  Oh well.

So far I’ve only been able to watch this clip, but it’s enough to have an opinion.
I think we can rule out that they met before. Not only would that have been extremely difficult during Covid, but they don’t seem that familiar with each other.
It’s possible that they Facetimed, but it is also possible that they only exchanged a few DMs. Apparently several of Tayshia’s guys slid into Katie’s DMs as soon as she appeared on screen in January.

I don’t think there is anything fishy about his arrival. He contacted the show himself. Producers kept him hidden until the two villains were gone, to make the most of his arrival.

So Blake is obviously a passionate guy. He crushed hard on both Clare and Tayshia, but it’s wrong IMO to say he was in love. He only had a couple of 10 minutes sit-downs with Clare, and he was friend zoned by Tayshia. Perhaps you could call it “bubble love”, the kind that wears off quickly with most contestants.
I think he is sincere, but it is concerning that, if he is F1, there are no SHVs due to travel restrictions. Blake might be left on this initial “bubble” level, unable to deepen the relationship until the end of July.

One flag for me with Andrew S. (as with his cousin Clay,) was a mention that he helps to support his family. If I were looking at him as a prospective partner, I would want to know to what extent this is the case. If you are buying a house for your parents and/or grandparents, sure. If you are helping your siblings to get their educations, sure. Occasional help or gifts, fine. But if it's an endless string of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, etc. with their hands constantly out, then I would give that a hard no. But that would be something that their prospective partner would have to figure out over time, and during the course of many intimate conversations.

There's no question that he's a sweet guy, though.

The group date was fun to watch, it's nice to see the guys joking around.    I'm glad the surprise "food" table was just carbs and not something weird like bugs.  Though the Twinkies might be almost as frightening .  Mike P "I haven't eaten a carb in 7 years"  I really like him, he seems like such a nice man.  I wish we would have seen more of Christian. Greg, just comes off as very immature to me, but Katie is sure into him.    Tre is cute, but I'm not a fan of being a tattletale.  I like Andrew, he's sweet.  I wouldn't be surprised if Clay told him, the one Cardinal rule, don't be a tattletale.  

I'm so over the drama, and there seems to be a lot of it.  I'm surprised that Katie, being the strong, independent woman she claims to be is not telling the guys to back off when they want to rat someone out and that she'll figure things.   Instead, Katie is rewarding that behavior.   Side note, Katie's wardrobe is awful.  Her RC dress was pretty, but her makeup, I thought was very distracting.  

I thought Blake handled himself very well, and came off sincere.  I assumed there would be a lot of chemistry between Blake and Katie, but Wow, I wasn't expecting that.  You can't fake this

I am happy she kicked Thomas to the curb and choose to let Blake stay. After the right reasons drama she has been dealing with at least Blake made the effort to chase after her because he could appreciate who she was. Most of other guys were probably cast before Katie was even announced as Bachelorette. Blake was able to tell Katie specifically why he came, that he was drawn to her openness, boldness, confidence and humor. It was cute how when Katie went to tell him he would be moving into the house "tomorrow" that he got so distracted he locked himself out of his room. It will be interesting to watch how the united house deals with his late arrival.
