Bachelorette Australia - Season 7 - Brooke Blurton - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

Ten bucks says the contestants will be hooking up with each other behind the scenes.  I wonder if they'll have separate mansions to combat that.  

I'm OK with Brooke as Lead, but will need to purge my brain of her IMO fakeass showmance with Alexnation in Paradise to take her dates with the girls seriously.

Given the complete lack of interest in Jimmy's season I hope TPTB get a clue and let the paps leak pics of the contestants.  I miss sleuthing dammit!

Well… unless they cast all bisexual, I do not see lesbian “hooking up” with straight guys…. Just saying.

And because someone is bi doesn’t mean they jump on everything…….

I believe they do expect some drama and indeed bi hooking with some guy and I do expect they will cast few to do just that. The same way they cast racists on a black lead, jerks to stir drama, etc

But all? No. I strongly believe we will see a love story. I feel a complete different vibe from previous bachelorette AU… Thanks Gawd!

May I ask why you feel that way?

IMO she is fake. She tried too hard on Badger's season and played the victim and then threw him under the bus. Then the whole fake showmance with Alex on BIP just emphasized all my thoughts. I expect more acting on her own season and expect she will be kissing production a** so she gets a good edit. She saw what they did to Badger. She will be a good little soldier and probably end up with someone for the required duration and to get all that shilling in or other opportunities. I expect the drama quotient to be exponentially through the roof and her sexuality to be thrown in our face non stop. I don't do well with fake or when people sell themselves and their sexuality out. I see shades of Colton.

Any lead can have a bad season, as we have seen time and time again.

I'm glad they have taken the lead in a long overdue move imo.

I see no similarities between Colton and Brooke none whatsoever.

Although all contestants enjoy fame and mostly the after $$ opportunities I am sure. But, for me, it is all about personalities.

I always liked brooke and never felt her a fake person. She left the cray cray badger. She left BIP. I perceive her as genuine but not naive.

When she left the badger season, she had very few Instagram contracts. She never went crazy like Keira or matty or this lead who is promoting ad nauseam his gym using his kids and wife. She took a year off with her BF. Didn’t work. But she didn’t sell the details etc. She was classy about it.

So yes. I like her. And she is, imo, a million miles away from Colton whom I truly despise. I think she is fresh, smart and interesting. I think her diversity background is intriguing. I think she is a strong woman. And I find her absolutely stunningly beautiful.

Does it mean she is perfect? Heck no. Nobody is in this franchise. But I put a Simone and a Brooke next to each other and I pick Brooke hands down. That men and men will compete will be interesting. I just hope to find genuine personalities and not whore fame addict brats divas as usual, cast to bring useless unnecessary dramas.

I also don’t see her like Abbie. That Brooke is not shy to speak about her sexuality is important because she is in the minority due to her background and she knows how important to speak about minorities. She isn’t distasteful. She is true to her values and defend the right to love who she wants. She doesn’t “sell” anything. She talks about it. She educates people. If she disturbs some in the process, who cares?

It is quite funny to feel this need to associate a person with another bachelor contestant all the time. I personally don’t see the need.

All in all each his/her cup of tea or chamomile. Personally I am not a masochist. If I don’t like a lead, I pass the season until I find one I like. I passed many lately, but not Brooke. The only season I felt so enthusiastic was Tayshia. Crossed fingers I’ll find the same fun.

Re: the bold... other lesbians and bi women will be there.  And if they're living in the same house 24/7 and getting boozy at cocktail parties there's 1000% higher chance of the girls hooking up with each other than Brooke IMO.

Not to mention the potential for bi girls to hook up with the male contestants.  This kind of gender mashup worked extremely well with Are You the One season 8 but when they're all meant to be competing for ONE lead?  Nope.  

I'm sure TPTB have a bunch of storylines cooked up already (and I'm fully expecting a 50/50 boy/girl Top 4) but this version of the show format has several obvious flaws and will turn out to be little more than a gimmick IMO.  

Someone calculated one season how much time F1 spent with the lead and it was like 26 hours total, during 2.5 months of filming.  With the contestants living together, the real relationships will be off-camera this season, IMO.

On the bright side, this does add an extra dimension to the sleuthing, since TPTB will presumably want to keep any extra-curricular relationships under wraps, so as not to distract from the main storyline.  Need to keep a sharp eye...

100% this, IMO.  I've seen it happen in real life again and again and again...

That said, the next season of Paradise has the potential to be DYNAMITE with a mixed sexuality cast, IMO (a fact not lost on TPTB I'm sure).

I imagine Abbie is frantically dusting off her audition tape as we speak.

Very true, but the hill that Abbie was dying on was “I will never consider being Bette until more diversity cast etc” sorry, can’t remember the exact rant, so now that a pansexual indigenous Bette has been cast, allegedly bisexual blonde Abbie can in good conscience put her hand up for next year.

IMO production would LOVE to cast Abbie as the lead, she’s good on camera, gives great sound bites and would give them all the s*x they could handle

2. Change the timeslot to 10:30pm

That bi automatically jump on everything because they have more choices is ridiculous. they are as picky as straight people. They are not more sexual. They have more choices, true. But the perception that they are sex fiends is ludicrous. (Hookups in my book equals occasional sex)

It is all about personalities.

If they cast 90% racists and the lead is a non white… how much chances do we have to have dramas versus casting 90% non racists?

If they cast bi that love to party and bar hookups versus bi who I call everyday people who are more “serious” or stable… how many will hookup? Not mentioning that we will find lesbians too?

But we know that producers WILL cast the party’s people instead and will find the graal if a bi hookup with a straight during the show. I am betting my money they will. They will always find young people ready to sell themselves on TV.

But again, doesn’t mean all bi will do…………. It irks me to see the public bias because they have no knowledge but preconceived ideas.

I don’t think anyone is naive to think all 25 or 30 people will be genuine…. I think we will see the same ratio of jerks and genuine.
