Given that the pandemic upended production's schedule and normal casting--all very good things, imo--I'm guessing that the Bachelor likely will be someone from an older season and not from Claire's group, imo.

@veg_out agree with Matt likely being cast to crossover younger fans. Now that tptb has increased that younger demographic because of Colton, Hannah, and Peter seasons, they certainly would want to keep them watching.
In Tyler’s first post-show interviews he often mentioned Matt as a good next Bach candidate. Personally I have no opinion until I see Matt on Bette. So far, he does, however, seems to have a lot going for him.

I think ABC would be crazy not to make Matt the first MOC bachelor. He seems to be the whole package. Tall, Handsome, athletic ,Educated, great personality, employed , caring , charity .,and most of all the support of two of the most popular people in the bachelor franchise, Tyler and Hannah. Everyone who follows Hannah and Tyler has gotten to know Matt pretty well and he seems to be well liked by all. IMO he dosen't need to go on Bachelorette or BIP , I think he can go straight to lead. jmo

At this rate he should just go on a different reality show. Love Island or Big Brother. The chances of him getting cast as a contestant or lead in anything Bachelor nation related anytime soon are slim as thin ice.

I respectfully disagree. I think tptb are loving this drama. Keeps people talking about the show. I can see them incorporating it into the show, it means there is ready-made conflict for the night one storyline.

Exactly @leavers. I would add, Clare is the one at a major disadvantage. SM is ripping her apart and she deserves it. All IMO.

@Chgohighlife not that I care about Clare or what she said/did (also I find some Matt's actions questionable, but I choose to overlook it), but no one DESERVES to be ripped apart and criticized with a spiteful vengeance that some fans (whether they are Matt's/Tyler's or Hannah B-hives) directed towards this woman.

The hateful bashing online is disgraceful, disrespectful and hypocritical no matter who is the target. Today is Clare, yesterday was Tyler ... and who knows who is tomorrow.

I think Clare made a mistake here. Matt was already known by the press, because of his friendship with Tyler. He didn't just start another charity case. He was already doing ABC Food tours with Tyler. It has nothing to do with him being a possible contestant on her season. He doesn't need Clare for his popularity.

You are right. “Deserved” was too strong a term. For the record, I did not write one of those comments in the other forums. I’m just completely disgusted by the vulnerability and gullibility of Clare given her age and experience with this franchise. If her season had gone as planned, she would have been a disgraced laughingstock. Those men were babies and CH was happier than I have ever seen him for the pending train wreck they were creating with what seemed to be her cooperation. I developed an absolute disdain for her at that point because IMO she should know better. 
IMO Matt James really tried to say something nice to her and definitely did not deserve her response. That was and is my interpretation of his comments. I didn’t like what she said or, the high horse it was said from and I’m glad she didn’t get away with it. I do not think she is smart enough to get through this experience without a great deal of embarrassment and disappointment. This show is stooping pretty low to stay relevant and maintain market share. I hope she is spared via complete revamp or cancellation of her season. Otherwise, you haven’t seen vitriol, yet.

I always thought Clare came off with an attitude, controlling and very forward. (almost like a handful for any guy) I mean , I don't know her and maybe I'm wrong but that's the impression I got from watching her on TV. I don't think she'll do well with the younger guys IMO she might be better off with men in there late 40's-50's. only because by that time they are pretty much mellowed

That’s more Clare’s speed, IMO. Men are not known for hooking up with women a decade plus older unless there’s money involved. There are exceptions and yes, I know that but the norm is men who’ve never married or had children, whatever age - are not looking for someone almost 40. Think of Arie. He’s the norm. Most couples who are close in age, it’s because they’ve known each other in high school or college or, at least since they were both fairly young. Two 25 year olds, two 27 year olds, two 30 year olds, YES.  But a <39 year old man does not generally take off looking for a 39 year old woman, IMO. 45 year old guy, maybe. I don’t make the rules, I just observe them. 

Clare does not seem to understand the difference between dating and marriage which is likely one of a million reasons she is still single. “She dates younger” says CH. Yes but, those are just dates that clearly circled the block three times and brought her back home. She feels young and looks it but, she isn’t. That’s the reality she has to face because every man on her season, already has. Her behavior and choices seem somewhat predatory to me and in the absence of wealth she would not generally be successful but, she has a tv show to draw them in for her and the competitiveness that testosterone produces and Neil Lane’s free contribution and instant D-list celebrity will get her a proposal from someone, for sure. But, after that - the same buyer’s remorse we’ve seen with her last finance. I would bet money on it. All IMO.
