That was the most hurtful thing I have heard on a TV show, reality or scripted. I cannot comprehend how a mother could think that let alone say it out loud.

I took it to mean that Peter and Madi’s relationship would fail then he could move on to a successful relationship.

If means in order for him to succeed in a relationship, he has to fail in one first. Meaning Madi.

Just reading here and on Twitter and apparently Peter's mom is pissed.. wtf!? It's been like 2+ months since the break-up and he and Madison getting together and she still can't move past it. Lordy what a B**! Peter needs to cut ties ASAP. Poor Madison.

I may be way off base here but I almost feel like this was off from the engagement. HA did not appear to be as elated as the ladies usually are. If that were me I would, at least in that moment, be over the moon. I could convince myself that it was my own defense mechanisms that was eroding my confidence. Now in the weeks that followed I would begin to see the cracks and acknowledge, that my gut was right.  Even when she was introduced tonight she seemed very together and very rehearsed.   She  was in the same position as Becca was and the raw emotion was palpable then. Take responsibility if you  are questioning the engagement- then voice those concerns before accepting the ring.

As for his parents, what they say in private is one thing, in public another. For the sake of their son and his happiness with or without Madison, I think they screwed up big time.

I am not giving Madison a pass here either. You get more with sugar and I think I would have said, I know that we didn’t get off to the best start, but I do love Peter and I know he loves you, so I would like to get to know you and give you a chance to see in me what your son does.  Understandably, she is as good a human being as HA and therefore she is hurt that they drew that line in the sand.  

I really wonder if the producers did a mind game with Peter and insisted he get engaged. That whole engagement and break up seemed very emotionless and rehearsed. They were saying the right words, but without any joy.

As for Peter he should have done what Colton did, walk away and refused to get engaged and sort his feelings out. Wonder if those two have chatted?
