I think all the boys looked drunk and depressed last night because Angie dropped her guard with the whole Jamie drama and it was obvious (or more obvious than before) that its all about Carlin. Ryan was a classic example of this,slumped in his chair while Angie and Carlin hold hands and have emotionally charged chats in the hall.
I think Angie has a lot of self doubt with Carlin. She has said a lot she has not been in love, she is scared to make herself vulnerable. I would say her apparent distrust in Carlin says more about Angie and how vulnerable she feels-in relation to Carlin, than it does about Carlin and his motivations. All JMO!

I agree with this. Timm and the boys stuck up for Carlin (love the loyalty of the Bachelorette contestants compared to the Bachelor contestants tbh) and all seem like really decent guys. They most likely were particularly wasted last night because Angie's reaction made it very clear who was going to win. I don't see that as a sign of Timm's 'immaturity,' I just see it as an understandable reaction to what must be a sty situation.

I do agree with @sprout that the over the top editing of the show and not showing the love story from the beginning can impact how one views the show. I think the AU franchise producers have started editing the show similarly to the US series now and I am honestly not surprised because the general audience IMO enjoys the drama. I enjoy the show always because of the sleuthing and we have a blogger that spoils the show in the US series that tweeted this regarding the US Bachie season that is still filming and will air in January; ”the devil works hard, so do the producers of this show but I work harder” I cackled when I saw this tweet because it sums up to me the extent the producers will go to infuse manufactured drama just to mis-direct IMO. Like @sprout said, focusing on how the lead reacts is key to not falling for the edit IMO because all leads follow the same pattern in that regards...all jmho.

IMO, Jamie is a right piece of work - so vindictive. Carlin is a sweaty and I trust that he’s there for Angie and is genuine. The others all seem like nice enough guys but too young, except for Ryan (who is clearly pissed off by the whole drama etc). Timm is too much of a jokester. Of course, JMO

Ive rewatched Matt and Chelsies dates and time together and I can’t believe I didn’t see their obvious deep connection the first time. I think ai must have been so caught up in what was happening with Abbie. There were so many signs that Matt was smitten with Chelsie on a much deeper level than with anyone else. So, it might be the same with Angie and Carlin especially between now and the finale.

Episode 7, Part A

First up it’s the baby-themed GD.  Matty says he loves kids and is excited to be a father one day.  Considering he spends his time riding child-sized bikes I can believe it.     Matty will do very well in Paradise IMO (assuming he dumps that trashy MAFS chick in time).



Jamie says he can 100% see himself having babies with Angie and I need no convincing.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s uploaded their photos to one of those phone apps that predicts what your kids would look like and has already selected a short list of names.



Angie says she really wants to be a mum and hopefully within the next five years.  Timm says he can definitely see himself as a Dad and “I reckon I’d kill it… oh, wait, not the kid”. Ryan can’t wait and will take them surfing.  Haydn says he doesn’t want kids at all.



Record scratch, freeze frame.  Jackson’s face says it all.  Haydn has signed his exit pass right there and once again it frustrates me that TPTB cast so many men for Angie with such fundamental incompatibilities.  He hasn’t even made for entertaining TV, IMO.

The challenge is pretty darn funny.  Timm is totally useless.   Jackson gets a penalty for skipping the undies stage and trying to send his kid to school commando.  Jamie’s kid’s head falls off, then its arms.  His child will be on time for school but also slightly dead.



Jackson wins and gets the SQT.  He’s far more chatty than he was on their SD and they both giggle through the whole thing.  He does a funny impression of her laugh and they kiss.  His place in the top 4 is cemented and his Paradise ranking ramps up a notch IMO.



Next day Osher arrives with a date card.  For reasons unclear, almost everyone is wearing a hat.   Matty looks so hopeful that it’s going to be him.  Aw.  Carlin gets the date and Jamie says it sucks.  He senses dishonesty with Carlin and thinks he’s pulling wool over eyes.

Angie says she’s formed connections with several guys since their SD and they’ve drifted apart.  Carlin arrives on a boat which looks remarkably similar to one he promotes on Instagram.  Not identical but it’s clear where TPTB got their idea/contacts from, IMO.

Next, Angie awkwardly applies sunscreen.  She seems to be enjoying herself, despite the fact that she looks like a kindergartner doing hand prints with paint.



In another remarkable coincidence, the background scene is very similar to the background in Carlin’s Tramps ad.

Back at the mansion, Jamie says he thinks Carlin’s a fake who’s only there for his TV and acting career.  This is very interesting, given that NO mention of this has been made on the show, so the unspoiled should still be under the impression he’s a “fitness trainer”



I‘m now thinking maybe TPTB just wanted/expected him to be exposed, because if not, recreating scenes from Carlin’s acting jobs and TV ads as if they were literally a storyboard for his role on the show would be a very strange way of hiding it, IMO.

Back on the date, Angie says she’s frightened of something regarding Carlin but she doesn't know quite what it is.  She says he seems too perfect, and she’s not sure about too perfect, because you never know what’s going to come out later.  

The scene is set for Part B.

So do you think that this new way of editing could be detrimental because I know that season 6 of paradise( America) was not well received since it was so negative and there was a huge focus on drama rather than love stories. The effect of this is that most people didn't care about many of the couples by engagement time, because most of what was shown of them were negative dramatic moments.

Episode 7, Part B

Cocktail Party.  Carlin arrives back from the SD.  Timm is looking drunk (but hot) and Ciarran is looking sad (but also hot).  Ciarran says he’s an emotional wreck and needs to speak to Angie.  





Angie arrives and takes Haydn off for a chat.  She says it’s clear they’re not on the same page re: children and he’s given the old heave ho.  He doesn’t even get time to pack his bags.

Angie rejoins the cocktail party and DOESN'T EVEN MENTION IT to the other guys.   She grabs Jamie and takes him off for a chat.  He says the time has come to tell her who’s not genuine.



He says Matt is career focused.  Yep, that checks out IMO.  He says he has heard Ciarran say some things that he thinks are “ingenuine.”  Hmmm… inconclusive, and also, not a word.  

Carlin.  He’s Peacocking.  He wants to be the 2020 Bachelor.  He’s a snake in the grass, and he puts on a character in front of Angie but he can’t keep it up 24 hours a day in the mansion.



Angie does not look totally surprised, to me.  She asks, “am I one of those girls that doesn’t see such a faker right in front of me?”  She’s questioning everything, and wondering why she’s there.  

She thanks Jamie and runs off to have a word with production.  It's a shame we’re not privy to the audio - this would have been the most interesting/revealing conversation of the night IMO.



She emerges to ask Carlin “who the hell are you?”  She’s pissed.   She says she feels sick and she trusts her gut.  Carlin says “not once have I said I want to be the Bachelor 2020”.  Angie’s not buying it.



She grabs Timm, which shows IMO that she trusts him and feels safe with him.  She says, “if there’s anyone that’s going to be honest with me, it’s Timm”.   Timm tries to look a bit less drunk.  It doesn't work.



Angie rants and raves at Timm while he tries to focus and get his head around what’s required of him in this situation.  She asks, “is Carlin strutting around saying he wants to be next Bachelor?”



Timm slurs the words “I haven’t heard that”, but it’s a splice and dice so he could have been talking about anything.  Regardless, Timm talks Angie off the ledge and she trots off to apologise to Carlin.  

Meanwhile, despite the fact that he’s so drunk he can no longer stand up, Timm suddenly realises Haydn’s been missing for the past 2 hours and no one noticed.   He really needs his own spinoff show IMO.



Timm sees Angie wearing Carlin’s jacket with the rose on it and thinks she’s taken it back off him.  The producers must have loved Timm IMO.  Ryan and Ciarran just look like they want to go to bed.





So Ciarran to go tonight and although he’ll be missed it’s for the best since he clearly doesn’t want to be there any more IMO.  I’m looking forward to seeing if he’s back with Renee and/or if we can expect to see him in Paradise.

Oh and Angie’s now doing that annoying thing that Matt did where she’s playing games with her words in interviews and saying she’s “with someone from the show” so IMO they may make it look like Ciarran could come back.

I see a few things differently. Angie was the one who wanted Carlin to take his shirt off to display his toned abs, and she said she enjoyed rubbing in the sunscreen lotion. IMO if anyone was awkward it was Carlin.
All the guys in the house said Carlin didn't go around saying he wanted to be the next bachelor. Timm was the person Angie trusted most to ask about Carlin, never mind Timm is Carlin's rival for Angie's heart, but he told her what he knew. I do not believe it was spliced and diced, although Timm was drunk so it might've taken several attempts to get a coherent answer out of him.
Going by what I witnessed on my TV screen Angie and Carlin are now fine, however the drama continues tonight.
