Elora makes a play for Connor but he wants to see things through with Shannon. Faced with no other option, she goes to talk to Mack.  She tells him he's her only chance of receiving a rose.  He looks at her like the math teacher when you're trying to explain why you haven't done your homework for the third day in a row.

Preview of next episode: FAMILIES!  Didn't see that coming.  The preview makes it look like Nathan & Tenille will finish together, and Bill and Alex who we already knew about. Ditto USAlex/Caroline.  Alisha is shown giving Jules an ultimatum.  I presume we're meant to think they split, which probably makes them the surprise/feelgood couple at the end.  

I've heard on the grapevine that Flo dumps Davey at the finale so it will be interesting to see if that happens and what reasons are given.  Davey's all over the media this week with a new gf so he's apparently not too cut up about it.  Makes me think Davey & Flo were brought in late in the game when TPTB realised how few couples they had to work with.

Aside from Alisha's redemption and Flo & Davey's cheesy make out session on the daybed this season has been a total disappointment IMO, but of course we saw that coming so +1 for sleuthing instincts at least!

Tonight was a total yawn, no more rose ceremony’s, they all have to decide if they’re going to leave or go to commitment ceremony.

 I feel like all of Alexnation’s ITM’s tonight in the grey t-shirt were filmed some time later, probably back in Australia after she split with Bill. She looked too made up (and not sweaty enough) for Fiji, and they were all negative or expressing her doubts in Bill. I’m guessing her actual ITM’s at the time were quite different, so they needed to film extra ones in order to tell their story.

OK, here we go with ep 12:


We open with Zoe deciding she's going to pash Mack. Just like that. I have to check to make sure I haven't missed an episode considering yesterday she said he did nothing for her.

But no, apparently she just wants to have a crack. She corners him at the bar. TPTB chuck $50 at some busker to play the riff from a soft porn flick on his bass guitar, and they go for it.

The next day, Mack is waxing lyrical about the kiss as if it was a scene from Shakespearean play. Zoe on the other hand says "we kissed - still no chemistry - now we know". I do love a straight talker.

Tenille says Nathan only wants to kiss on camera. With Ivan and Nathan she's gone from one extreme to the other. She is concerned Nathan's not really into her and just wants to get to the end.

Flo says Davey is immature and she can't see them being in a serious relationship. They're setting the scene for Davey to "man up" at the finale and want to commit, only for Flo to reject him, IMO.

Osher rocks up. He tells them no more RCs, you can either leave now or stay to the commitment ceremonies. And if you stay, your friends/family get some free exposure by appearing on the show.

There's no way Alexnation is missing out on extra airtime so of course she Bill are staying. Mack & Zoe have no spark, so they get the boot. Nathan and Tenille stay, as foretold by Sportsbet.

Jules and Alisha chat. Alisha is clearly invested and vulnerable. Jules basically describes their relationship as friends with benefits. He seems totally freaked out, but they decide to stay.

Flo and Davey stay. He says he's scared to lose her. TPTB know where this is headed. There's no way Ch 10 are flying out family members from the US, so USAlex & Caroline "decide" to leave.

Next day, Davey's Dad arrives.  He's read the script and knows exactly what he's meant to say to further Davey's storyline.

We are left with the impression that Dad approves of Flo, but Davey's worried about losing Flo's friendship if it doesn't work out.

Meanwhile, Flo is chatting to some Steph chick who was apparently a contestant from a previous season.  I have literally no idea who she is.

She is apparently a "mutual friend" of Flo & Davey, which I interpret as she's slept with him, but maybe that's just how my mind works...

Flo says she's tried to bang Davey but he's "always tired".  I wonder if he had a gf back in AU when he & Flo got the call to come to Paradise to play this role? Maybe the gf said OK you can kiss if it's just for TV but nothing behind closed doors and I want it on public record that you didn't bang.  

Anyway... the four meet up and by the way Steph interacts with Davey I am now 100% sure they slept together.  

Davey says it's weird because he & Flo were close friends IRL but never intimate and I call MAJOR BS on that.  The level of physical comfort/familiarity between these two tells me they've done more than just "chat" outside the show, IMO.

Anyway, Steph tells him to stop over thinking it.  Flo is chatting to Davey's Dad.  She says she can sense he's feeling unsure.Again they set the scene for Davey to "overcome his fears", commit to Flo, and get knocked back in the finale.  

It's OK TPTB, I GOT IT THE FIRST TIME.  

Tenille's friend Chantelle arrives. They do this weird mirror image thing where they mimic each other's movements

Tenille tells Chantelle who she's dating. Chantelle is "surprised" Tenille is with Nathan, and I can't help but think how much more horrified she'd be if she was still with Ivan.

Tenille is worried Nathan will ghost her when the show's over. Nathan arrives with his brother to meet Tenille and remind us that Corona is this season's beer sponsor.

Chantelle says Nathan needs to show Tenille he's willing to be exclusive outside the show or else she won't go through with the commitment ceremony. She don't trust him.

Nathan and Tenille meet up, he tells her he thought them being exclusive was "implied" and he's willing to commit. Overall he's still coming across pretty genuine IMO.

Mummanation arrives.

Alex says Bill is a charmer.  Mumma N says "you have to watch out for the charmers..." and then they immediately turn it into a bitch session about Richie.  This pisses me off since he's not there to defend himself and they're meant to be talking about Bill, not Richie!

Bill arrives with some tattooed bloke.  We're not told how they know each other but I presume Bill met him at the dog park.



Mumma N says, quote "speaking with Alex about her relationship with Richie, what do you think you would do different or better?"  Excuse me?  What kind of question is that!  No wonder Alex is so bitter towards Richie - holding a grudge seems to run in the family.

After the break we find out that the guy is Bill's brother.  Alex is talking in code about "charmers" with the combined objectives of throwing Bill under the bus whilst also slanging Richie off and I agree with @Dirty Street Pie that these were shot in AU, post-Bill-breakup, IMO.

Hair regrowth is different and there's no sign of humidity/frizziness.  Brows are thinner/lighter.  Skin is taught & dry not puffy & sweaty like it was in Fiji:

Alisha's best friend Hannah arrives.  Alisha can't contain her excitement and runs up to meet her friend, completely ruining the cameraman's shot, which I presume wasn't originally intended to feature a palm frond.

Alisha's friend is cool.  She's not primped & preened like Tenille & Flo's mates, and seems like a normal person.  She says she has no idea who Jules is, and it's not clear if she even watches the show.  I like her even more.



Jules' friend arrives and of COURSE it's the Lead singer of the Vanns.  You don't get a guy's band tattooed on your azz and then not invite them to Fiji to appear on a reality TV show when the opportunity presents itself.

Jules talks about his situation with Alisha while Jimmy sits there chanelling the spirit of Michael Hutchence.

Alisha tells Hannah about Jules' "umbrella of ambiguity" comment, complete with sarcastic air quotes.   Hannah says "I like his turn of phrase but that sounds like a creative way of saying friends with benefits".  This girl gets it.

Next, Alisha tells Hannah that Jules said when they leave he wants to "go with the flow and see what grows".  Hannah thoughtfully replies, "it rhymes, and that's good, but..."

The four meet up and Alisha hugs Jimmy for a REALLY LONG TIME. She thinks he's super hot and keeps asking "when do I get to go have a chat with Jimmy?".

Jules described his relationship with Alisha as "a really weird, nice friendship".  Oh Jules.    

Hannah, who I have already decided is the most articulate and intelligent person to have ever appeared on this show, says she's "finding it a bit hard to unpack what he's saying".  Very diplomatic.

Jules flounders.  He says he has no idea where they're at or where he wants to go from here.  He's now at a CROSSROAD OF AMBIGUITY!   Mate, you need to just drop that word from your vocabulary entirely.

Meanwhile, Alisha is hanging with Hot Jimmy.  She tells Hot Jimmy about the Umbrella.  Hot Jimmy laughs and says "how long has he been working on that one?"  I get the feeling he knows Jules well.

Jimmy tells Alisha she needs to call Jules out on his BS and put the hard word on him.  Alisha tells Jules she's not happy with a Friends with Benefits arrangement.  He needs to get rid of the umbrella or she's out...

I can't help but notice that Jules and Davey are on stage by themselves, while the other "couples" (Nathan/Tenille and Alex/Carboard Cutout) presumably come out in pairs...

... which suggests to me that Flo rejects Davey at the commitment ceremony as per the spoiler going around, and that Jules and Alisha probably also leave separately.

The word on the street from people who attended the reunion is that there's still "something" between Alisha & Jules, but it might just be Alisha holding a candle...

Anyway, I'm ready for this show to be DONE.  Bring on the finale!

ETA: OK wow I just read something that makes me think Jules may have pursued Tenille post-show.  We were promised a surprise at the reunion, and Jules & Tenille being together now would certainly tick that box...

Oh and I also spotted a very interesting IG post claiming that Nathan is in a relationship (and has been since before filming Ali's season) which would actually explain a lot, but at this point I'm not even going to go there.
