No she had to quit her job to be cast and quit before that. Contestants/leads cannot be employed as journos while filming and the show airing. Doesn't mean they can't be journos in the past, just not employed as one when cast/filming.

Hmmm... OK.  Seems weird though when Georgia's intro package literally included her talking about her job as a journalist.

Oh definitely she was sold as that since it was her past job, not her current one. Leads get scouted but even still the rules would apply and so she'd quit before cast as lead and the intro vid was just some staging as per usual tv. She wasn't employed or contracted to any news agency while she was filming and cast as Bette. 

That's all the "being employed by or contracted with news organisation is strictly prohibited" doesn't mean you can't be a past journo or future journo. It is just about ensuring integrity of not being/currently employed to news agencies while filming for TEN. Contestants can do whatever before and after just not while on the show/filming. 

Basically a conflict of interest. Can't have undercover DM employees going on the show still contracted with Daily Mail and giving the secrets away (although it doesn't seem to matter as they seem to get the details anyway)  

Sophie's IG post cracks me up. She couldn't be bothered imo.

Soph saying "I just can't do it" is me trying to be invested this season - I just can't do it.

Sophie was never favourite - initially they had all the girls with virtually identical max losses (different odds, but when the max bets were taken into account, they were all within a dollar or two of each other, so there was no identifiable favourite at the start).

Nick looking preened and well groomed at the Deni ute muster.  Maybe he's pre-recorded some finale interviews?

I'm convinced he did that when he was 'lost' in the outback for a few days.

DM article on 2019 application rules showed a pic with this caption - "Want to meet a man like Matty J?" then showed 2017 cast. The 2018 girls were shown at the end but no mention of Nick.
